A couple of days ago I read on the internet about the controversy Genpets has created when they announced and released their new children doll/pet line. I read into it. The movie child’s play (AKA Chucky) came to mind as I read more about this THING.

Bio-Genica is a Bioengineering Company that has combined, and modified existing DNA to create the Genpets lineup. Genpets have blood, bones, and muscle; they will bleed if you cut them, and die if mistreated just like any other animal. The electronic components are only in the packages and are for basic life support, outside of the packages the Genpets are wholly organic.

Its a living organic Thing, or a pet as they refer to it, You buy it for your children. And they , the Pets, “wake up” when you open the packaging. They recognize the first face they see and get attached to it. They Live up to 1 or 3 years, depends on the type of animal you buy.

They have feelings and emotions. they don’t scream when you cut them because they lack complex vocal cords. They do however produce different kind of noises. Here watch this VIDEO.

I’m beyond freaked out.

Turned out the whole thing is fake and was a result of an artist imagination as to what would come out of real DNA and Bioengineering experiments with pets. Thanks Z for clearing it up.

To dismiss Genpets as a ‘hoax’ would be to completely miss the point. The spirit of art is to create an illusion. Genpets is designed ‘as is’ to help the viewer ponder the idea a bit longer.

I like things that glo. I hate waking up. Maybe if I had one of these glo Pillows I’d get up in the morning feeling neutral instead of murderous. The foam pillow works as an alarm clock, and an internal grid of LEDs begins to glow about 40 minutes before it’s set to wake you up. The idea is that a slow and gentle increase in light will bring you out of sleep more naturally. Sounds good in principle, but I hope it has some kind of emergency photonic disruptor mode that kicks in after I pound the snooze button for the twelfth time.

Yesterday we had a saj night in my father in law’s house. We do the saj night every year And since this year I have a blog, I decided to post about it.

We gathered at 7:30 PM and the weather was SO GREAT!

This time we had a variety of selections such as:

• Qash’awan cheese “its a Lebanese name i think”.
• Haloom Cheese.
• Beef fajitas.
• Chicken fajitas.
• Falafel.
• Spanish.
• Mortadella.
• NUTELLA “I’m in love with it!”.

  Each of the above can be wrapped with saj bread, You can imagine the taste! (Walla wana ga3ed akteb now ye3t again!

  

  Esara7a, i’m recommending it If you want something nice for a family gathering o chethy. If you want to make a reservation its better to reserve a day before. But keep in mind there is a minimum of 15 person to serve.
