“Sah El Nawm featuring the world famous Fayrouz was originally composed by the Rahbani Brothers and performed for the first time at the Damascus International Festival in 1970.

Admired for its dramatic intensity, rich storyline, humour and musical rhythms, the play has received tremendous success and praise for its strong focus on the Arab world.”

This is not an event you’d wanna miss. I wish I could attend.. Maybe I will you never know.

By the way who is older Fayrouz Or Sabah โ“

Getting a flat tire on your car always sucks. I donโ€™t care where you are, itโ€™s never fun to change a tire. Usually the worst part is actually trying to jack your car up so you can take off the wheel ((9K2HN do you rememberย  Abdili road)) ๐Ÿ™‚

Usually youโ€™ll find the worst excuse for a car jack known to man in your trunk. You know the kind, they have some kind of rod that you have to twist about three hundred times, then you get to do it all again when youโ€™re done changing the tire. I believe Iโ€™ve found the coolest jack ever.

It gonna cost you around KD34. I think its worth it.

For people like me & my wife who never know how much pasta to cook (it’s either too much or too little and we’re either unsatisfied or have two days of leftovers), I think this chrome device will solve our issue, it measures the amount of spaghetti for up to four people and doubles as a trivet.

Thanks to Ahmad.

After having a breakfast like this one here and lying around doing nothing for awhile we got a bit.. bored.

So, Me and HKR decided to go out and take some pictures with our cameras. One thing led to another and all of a sudden we were 7 people packed in 2 cars going for a , I’m not sure what to call it, they wanted to go ge79ing in a sandy area ๐Ÿ˜› Is there any better opportunity to try out my new lens? ๐Ÿ˜€ I used the 28-135mm for the most part and my friend used his Macro 100mm.

I loved using a quicker lens as it allowed me to take pictures in a more relaxed manner, I used to try to breath carefully while i click on the, uhmmm, clicker? i don’t know what its called, but it was annoying to be so careful. That wasn’t the case last weekend at all. I had a nice experience with the camera. Near the end I tried my Macro, but I didn’t like it in that setting, I think its better with objects that tend to stay in one place and do not move ๐Ÿ˜› however my friend used the Macro and nothing else. and his pictures turned out great! Around a week ago my Brother told me that there was some Kuwaiti soap being filmed infront of where he’s living and that he has an insider there telling him about the soap. (The insider is their houseboy or something. The insider managed to land a role in the soap too!). So I asked my brother if it was possible to take some pictures of the set so I could share it with you all. And He very kindly did go through all the trouble of sneaking in when no one was around ๐Ÿ˜› and shot all these nice photos ๐Ÿ˜€

A cast member!

The mosalsal is called Al Lahoub, The set is all wood, about an inch thick. There was an old cafe built for some scenes, but unfortunately it was brought down before He had a chance to take some pictures. (err I forgot the actors’ names. I’m gonna update this post once I remember or my brother sms me the names!)

Thank you Tareq for the great pictures and the effort.

The soper grocery is in Hawally near Almuhallab Mall ๐Ÿ˜›

Thank you Fahad.

Yes the owners of Sultan Center struck a deal to bring these two supermarkets after spending about KD27 million, Here is an excerpt from the article:

A major Kuwaiti food company acquired Lebanon’s Monoprix and Giant stores for $97 million. Michael Abchee, the general manager of Admic which owns Monoprix and Giant malls, told The that Kuwait’s Sultan Center for Food Product, better know as TSC, has made this transaction after several months of negotiations.”

I went to the avenues mall the other day to buy a laptop bag & take some pictures of the flowers they had set up there. I took my camera with me and ended up taking zero pictures. It was way too crowded for a weekday’s morning! I felt too embarrassed to be taking photos while everybody’s watching! so the camera stayed in its bag and was only taken out for the pics in this post. BTW I just want to applaud the guy who was clicking away near starbucks.. everybody was staring, including me ๐Ÿ˜› , as he sat there in the middle taking thousands of pictures. Can’t say I wasn’t envying him.

Anyways I’m digressing. This shop I’m posting about, Carbon Fiber, is in the Avenues (Duh) above Baroue and opposite Guess Kids. It has a branch in Kuwait Airport (Airport Mall). I loved that they had 2 of the best bag brands, JanSport and Eastpack. I also liked the big collection of backpacks and messenger bags.

They’re also selling clothes, but they’re way over priced.

The staff are really friendly and will help you go through everything. I know I did. I spent over 20 minutes going through the bags and trying them out (yes I brought my laptop with me). The Filipino guy who works there was very helpful and was trying out the bags himself. He was quite happy to be working there.. Actually, He was a bit too happy. I finally bought a JanSport laptop bag for my laptop. it comes with a 30 year warranty ๐Ÿ˜›

Why do all hangers look alike even though clothes come in all kinds of crazy shapes? Sleeveless tops (especially ones made of slipper fabric) and wide-necked tops and dresses are especially difficult — they slip off and end up on the floor with the dust mites.

These flexible hangers are such an obvious idea – hangers that you can twist into different shapes to accommodate your clothing. KD3.750 for a set of 6 from Amazon.

Thank you Ahmad & Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ve been wanting to buy a lens for awhile now, I asked around a lot and been given lots of great advices (thanks btw), But as always, I spend a lot of time in hesitation. Around a week ago I finally settled and knew what I really need. I needed to buy 2 lenses and a good camera bag to contain everything! I went to amazon and placed an order for a canon 28-135mm with IS & another canon but this time a macro 100mm. The first one will replace my current lens and its probably going to be the one I use the most. The macro on the other hand is a stone winner! it turns every dull little picture into an achievement in photography! yeah i’m sad to admit this but the camera does most of the magic.

I’m loving both lenses at the moment and been taking some good picture in the chalet (a good post with our infamous wrangler is coming up soon ๐Ÿ˜› ).

I need to buy 2 more essential things, I need a great cleaning kit and another battery. maybe a bigger CF card too.

Here are some pictures I took while playing around with the Macro lens. ๐Ÿ˜€

Today when i was at the chalet 9K2HN found this cup. Does it bring back any memories?? ๐Ÿ˜›

Yes Yes its the cup that was distributed by the government i think to support our football team when they entered the world cup in 1982 in Spain.

This cup is now around 25 years old mashalah! ๐Ÿ™‚ esara7a when 9K2HN found it i didnt recognize it and it still doesn’t ring any bell.. cause at the time i was only 1 year old! ๐Ÿ˜›

For more info about that world cup click HERE.

Thanks 9K2HN.

I don’t know. The red ghetra is not red enough & I don’t wear plain white ghetras. I also think their logo on ghetras would look a bit tacky.

Pictures were taken in EA’s branch in Mall of the emirates, Dubai.

Thank you loco.

I got this from 9K2HN .. So lets begin and see if any one can solve it?! (i know our readers are SO SMART mashalah) ๐Ÿ˜›

One day there was a man going to work and The main gate required him to enter a passcode, a 5 digits passcode, The problem is that he forgot those 5 digits.. but he knows that there is some kind of a relation between the numbers. So lets begin with the hints.

The numbers should be entered as follows:

X1 – X2 – X3 – X4 – X5

Now here is the hints to solve it:

  • X5 + X3 = 14.
  • X4 = X2+1.
  • X1= X2 + X2 – 1.
  • X2 + X3 = 10.
  • X1 + X2 + X3 + X4 + X5= 30.

The first one to get the numbers will get his name posted in here (what a reward huh?) ๐Ÿ˜›

Thanks 9K2HN

SOLVED!

Less than 20 mins. from posting it K.TheKuwaiti solved it mashalah.

Here are the results:

X1: 7
X2: 4
X3: 6
X4: 5
X5: 8

We got this via email from a mother who thought its really unfair for a bank to have or apply this rule. It might be a rule from the central bank of Kuwait but that does not make it right.

Here is what she wrote:

There is something that happened to me today that left me quite offended. You know the jawhara account in NBK? I went to open an account for my son and since I’m the mother I had to sign some papers stating that If my son won anything, I can’t touch nor withdraw the prize, even my son can’t touch the money until he’s 21 years old. What shocked me was when they told me that I should let the father open the account since the father CAN withdraw the money if my son ever wins. Now this I don’t get. They trust the father to act responsible and assume that he’s trustworthy and I, the mother who wants to start the account, am not!

He might be a good father, and know what is best for the family and I’m sure that most of the fathers are trustworthy, I’m not saying otherwise, But he might spend the money the wrong way too.. and if you’re giving him the right to watch over the son’s money, well, I’m the other parent! and I think I should be given the same right.

This rule also implies that when the son turns 21 he’s going to be more wise than me with his money. This rule/law also implies that the father and the 21 year old son are wiser and more trustable than the mother in any age. ta’7alof!

Ofcourse now I’m going to withdraw the money and put in my account, so just incase I win, I can make my whole family and everyone happy.

Thanks c’est la vie for sharing this with us ๐Ÿ™‚
