We went to Villa Fayrouz today. Its A lebanese restaurant. It draws it uniqueness from being almost like a monument dedicated to the legendary arab Diva, Fayrouz. Its decorated with her pictures and her music is played all the throughout the visit.

We ordered, like most Kuwaitis in lebanese restaurants almost everything in the menu, we ordered so much that we didn’t notice some of the dishes missing and were paid for without gracing our table.

I hate lebanese restaurants. I hate sharing food. “Joey doesn’t share food!!” ๐Ÿ˜›

ย And whats up with the worldwideย fascinationย with lebanese food and their mezzas? I don’t get it. Why would anyone go to a restaurant and eat Humus? Why would anyone order salads that can be easily made in our homes? Kebab!!!!! Why would I go to a restaurant and eat Kebab!??!

Fattoush

This post is shaping up to be a venting post. ๐Ÿ˜›

The Osmalliyeh saved the day.
Osmalliyeh

I would just like to say something to make this post somewhat worth your while ๐Ÿ˜€ The food was superb. Everything tasted real nice. The last time I went to Villa Fayrouz was years ago. It sure has come a long way, and I think in a couple of years it can be a good contender for the 2nd position behind the Sheraton’s Al Tarboush.

The Restaurant is located in Alsha’ab. Overlooking Fahaheel Highway. Around 500 Meters before the 3rd ring road exit (if you’re heading north toward Kuwait City).

ย
P.S. Don’t order their mohamarah. it tasted like cheap hot sauce.

The food is absolutely fantastic! But il ga3da is ZIFT! Yes Tarboush would come on top, but sheraton is more of a family restaurant I would say.

  5. Hasan.B says:

I wonder, did they have to take faryou’z permission or pay her something?

3awaffy! Those dishes sure looks appetizing. I always wanted to go there but I thought it’s one of those overhyped restaurants that you hear about. But reading your impression has changed my mind. I’ll give it a visit that’s for sure.

    Thanks Yousef ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hasan.B I agree AlTarboush is more like a family restaurant. But tsaddig I was thinking about Villa Fayrouz and if they ever took Fayrouz’s permission before going ahead? or did they pay her anything? I think she should get royalties off the restaurant. they’re using her name for marketing ya3ny lazim!

Angelo Allah i3afeek ๐Ÿ™‚ la you need to go there its a good restaurant. the seating is not perfect as Hasan.B pointed earlier but its good nonetheless ๐Ÿ™‚ just stay away from their mhammarah ๐Ÿ˜›

I LOVE Lebanese food! I think it is the most amazing food actually!
I have eaten in the gulf countries (Kuwait, UAE, Qatar), in Egypt and in Jordan. And by far the Lebanese are the masters of food in the region. Not to sound racist of anything like that. I love all of the Middle East, but for food Lebanon #1!!!
    Love from Canada ๐Ÿ™‚
