Few days ago i got this email from INM telling me that these pics was taken long ago (i dont know the year exactly) when the KOC (Kuwait Oil Company) was operated by BP (British Petroleum).

They were distributing those houses for their employees and one of them was this British guy who have taken some pics of his family. Nowadays those houses are being remodeled with help from Bell Roofing Company.

What i want to show you is how LOVELY and beautiful the house was. Check out how they are so organized

I think most of you can say whats the difference between now and then?! My answer is if u lived in Ahmadi you’re gonna know whats the difference, FYI since these houses was built they didn’t get any upgrades or any maintenance.

P.S. Does any one knows how these houses look like now a days?

Any way thanks INM

Wow these houses look pleasant. This house has a warm feeling surrounding it. I have a friend who lives in one of these houses now. But the feeling I get is different from the one in the picture.

I cannot really tell you much about how they look like now because both times I went there it was at night. However I think they are still there and look very similar.

  2. Last time i checked, they looked old.

Actually…. some of the houses don’t look bad at all…. it depends on the owners…
I knew some people who’s house looked like it was a storage area…. and I knew others who’s house looked like a newer version of the one above…
But I think they need some major renovation from the outside…

Ahmedi houses are very cute… ๐Ÿ™‚

    They are very cute !!!!!!!

I was just thinking about something like that on the way to work. Imagine all land in kuwait was 750m2 and it was a MUST that the ppl have a front yard and parking area. DAMN kuwait would be gorgeous!!!

  7. Chirp I agree.. there should be laws like that.. the houses now look suffocated.. I HATE a house without 7ooosh?!! Why the hell do they build the whole land.. 7atta law it’s 500 metres.. you can still manage a 7oosh.. donno.. I feel it’s a must.. giving space between houses and air..

  8. Everytime I see old pictures, i think “Oh no, I wonder if that person is a live? even i don’t know them :(.. I feel bad.. lol mental i know!

  12. Dodo says:

actually ahmai’s houses are still as beautiful as they were in the pic!
u have to go and check them out… bas i recommend that u go at night so that u can see the lightings and everything.. everytime i go to KOC hospital i keep repeating ” chenni mo bilq8 “!
    P.S. ignore the 3agad thing :p

Ahmadi is still beautiful I go there everyday and every time I think of posting bs i’m too lazy to.. It’s like you’re out of Kuwait.. A lot of the houses I see have a front yard, a rooftop and a fence (although now they’re chinkoo moo nafs hathaa lel asaf). I like it, I feel calm when I’m driving there.

  14. INM says:

walla if you went to Ahmadi , you wont see the same houses any more kuwaiti people change the houses into kuwaiti style ( closing everything and wont let any one see the garden ) but a everytime i visit Ahmadi i do like the streets way how its designed from long time until now the same way , which hard to found ant hard in the traffic by using ahmadi streets

  15. This is a lovely collection of photos.

Maintenance is the key to many of these great little treasures. Some bright guy decided to make the fences of the Ahmadi houses out of “kirby” which looks just awful.

Thank you for giving me an insight of how gorgeous these houses are (were) and how Ahmadi would look if people took care of the exteriors.

    Hello
I was born in Kuwait and spent my childhood in Ahmadi. I also have a lot of pictures of kuwait, ahmadi which can be called old now. I do miss that place now and the memories of that time still haunt me…
