Moving To WordPress.ORG

Couple days ago me and Yousef decided to transfer our blog to wordpress.org so that we get more control and options on our blog but Yousef faced some issues such as the old posts?! How could we transfer them .. (( i mean the text and pictures)) coz now i think the only way we could is to transfer the text and uploading the pics manually for the old posts which will takes ages! So any one tried it? i mean to transfer from .COM to .ORG? whats the steps? and for the hosting we’re considering DreamHost.
We appreciate your help guys

shouldn’t the pictures automatically be transfered with the posts, by wordpress itself, and uploaded to the server?
I mean, shouldn’t it be the same process when transferring posts from a .blogspot blog to a .wordpress one?
When transferring from .blogspot.com to .wordpress.com, ALL the contents of posts are automatically transferred, including text, pictures, audio and even video.
I think it should be the same.
Amjad According to yousef you can transfer only text in wordpress from ORG to COM.
:: I wish i could help but let me try this. From cPanel you can download ur sql file or ou can download the whole folder and later on you can upload it to either .com or .org
Since your lazy asking people instead of using search engine I made your life much easier.

Mishary, you can export the file from your control panel which contains all the posts you have with the cats in it and everything so you shouldn’t worry about re-arranging anything and for the pics you can ask for a backup from the server support staff or download the whole folder which has all the uploaded files to your computer and re-upload them to the new hosting server. its much easier than you think, if you need any further info contact me.
Dreamhost is alright for a small website .. When you get more readers/content, it will start to bog down. We have had several issues with kuwaitblogs/zdistrict on dreamhost (it can’t handle the connections).
