Since my Macbook Pro is going crazy these days im thinking of gettin a new MB but i want it to be smaller than mine (mine is the 15.4″) so the only option is gettin the Air, but my question, Is it the correct time to buy the Air now? or wait? is there any annoucement soon? Does it worth KD470? i know its SEXY but you know is it a heavy duty machine? i want it to be my main laptop.

don’t get it its more of a “look” than a laptop..my brother has it and he hates it o i used it a few time there’s no comparison to the pro
I was going to buy one before two weeks, but my friend told me theres a new version coming out in September. An Apple store told him.
wait.. prediction says there are gonna announce new line of laptops in Macworld conference on January. So just hold on a bit.

I am using my MacBook Air right now and it is awesome. So far I didn’t face any problem with my MBA, and I am shifting between to OS, Microsoft windows/apple mac.
If you are willing to buy the MBA go for the 1.8 GHz.
MBA is great, MBP is great, Vista is great and Asus Eee is great too. Its not about the machine or the software, its about what you want and need. So if want MBA get one 3alek bel3afya. for me iMac at home and MBP on the go with mobileme is all what I need, but here in q8 we follow the “what you want” philosophy.

Before you consider it, compare its performance (or lack of it) and your current mac. I think the Air was only meant for showing off in the thinnest laptop category.
if you really have to get a portable mac then get it. Build quality is excellent and specs aren’t all that bad (especially considering the fact that snow leopard will remove alot of bloat from your system)
If you are willing to get a windows machine instead then have a look at the lenovo x300 and the voodoo pc alternatives. Both offer the same size and quality with better feature set.

I would suggest you wait, although I have a Macbook Air right now, and it’s pretty much my main laptop right now I still won’t use it for all the heavy duty stuff. I use it quite often for Photoshop and stuff but its gets difficult to function with after a while :s
It’s been almost more than 6 months since they released it, it’s due for a redesign or revised release. Wait for that.

I am using my MBA for a while now, I couldn’t ask for a better laptop. I would seriously recommend you to get the 1.8 WITH “SSD” NOT the HDD, or else don’t get a MBA!. It really make a HUGE difference ( please please watch this clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pJMGAdpCLVg ) BTW: SSD will wipe out HDD in near future
The thing is that SDD for the MBA comes with only 64GB for now BUT around Sept-October it will start shipping with 128 GB! I will definitely upgrade from 64 to 128 and comfortably use it as my main laptop.
