We spotted this flying trike in Alzour as he was passing right above us.

I think it’s a very cool hobby and I would love to go on a ride one day, but the thing is.. I’m afraid of heights. Especially when I’m hovering 30 meters above ground in a little flying tricycle. Actually, that would be my worst nightmare come true 😛

Its called a Microlight ! I got a chance to fly in one but I’m afraid of heights too ! 🙁

  8. Airbus.Captain says:

well….that’s true …it’s a dangerous hobby…and an authorized instructor is required before you jump in and fly.

if the engine fails while flying, this microlight can glide, but ofcourse not to far,and the gliding distance depends on some factors ( wind speed/direction..microlight mass and speed).

but for some people it worth the risk.

    Good Day

About 5 years ago a Kuwaiti guy died when his microlight crashed, I think his passenger died also. I forgot his name, he was famous for sailing around the world. Dangerous but I’d imagine those microlights would be really fun.

  13. Haitham says:

I just found this in the comments on 248am.com, referring to the Kuwaiti guy I mentioned:

Qanim al Othman “ may he rest in peace” who was the first Arab and Gulf national to set sail around the world in a record time of 1.5 years, during which he crossed 30,000 nautical miles on a 46-foot boat.and was killed in an airplane crash.
