    So it started operating soon after the crisis began and now Alsawt is going mute?

    That’s kind of sad but what can they do the market is going all Darwinian on us and only the strong survive. I wonder how other media outlets are doing? I’m guessing that ad revenues are probably slumping now.

    Maskeen yousef alsumait mo metragee3 he started Al-Eqte9ad madre al-eqte9adeya before Assawt and it didnt survive and then he started assawt and it didnt survive as well 🙁

    Competition is good. The market decides. This is a good thing in Kuwait.
    Sink or swim, but always leave the door open to new newspapers – that is the main thing.

    BTW I don’t comment much but kudos on preserving and enriching a great blog – if it was my decision I’d vote you guys ‘best blogging newcomers of 2008’

    To respond to Um-mit3ib…I heard – and I might be wrong – that Al Dar Investment was the owner and they had to shut the newspaper due to their financial troubles.
