My cousin gave me this brochure about the new smart ID. We’ve been hearing news about this thing for a long time now, but I’m gussing since we have official brochures now, then it’s entering it’s final stages and will be out soon, hopefully.

Thanks Fawaz

  2. Marzouq says:

Digital theft of identity is seriously something they haven’t taken into full consideration in Kuwait. I just hope nobody takes advantage of that.

I am so happy with this piece of news. Thing is, we get to wait online, and watch these mugs, covered with falafel sandWITCHs, lovely smell, while people are shoving, using massive egos to get their way.

Hurray Smart device, die die die ugly mugs of bad taste and ill behavior.

MARZOUG, if that happens, it wont be a local who does it. im not pointing fingers. HAH!

2 telecom firms mull ‘charging’ incoming calls
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 15: Two out of the three local telecommunication companies are considering re-imposition of charges from land phone to cell phone calls. The concerned companies who have already informed the Ministry of Communications verbally said they will kick off the decision within the next few weeks, according to sources, reports Al-Rai daily.

Sources added, “The decision is due to the enormous increase of these calls and the corresponding pressure on the network traffic since introduction of the policy in December. Additionally, the companies are not reimbursed for this service despite the huge fees they are obliged to pay to the Communications Ministry,” sources added.

I hope they avoid what happened in the UK where they produced the cards but failed to distribute readers for them.

  6. Katuka says:

Why would you be hopeful with such a card!??!!?!! This is bad news for us!

If i loose my current card I have not much to worry about, but if I loose this one (or it gets stolen), I have my entire identity details compromised.

  7. Hamad says:

Katuka: yeah bas its like losing yr cc is a problem should we cancel all the cc’s?

yousef: takhayal el esem el 3arabi: hamad, el esem el latini would be jose? lol

  8. Yousef says:

Katuka, then don’t lose it :p oh and don’t think of having kids coz its a headache when u lose one of those :p j/k

  9. Hamad says:

    duh i was joking

  10. Ya Hala! Hala February says:

I am guessing it will be a biometric card then.
And how soon are they going to roll this out?

  11. Katuka says:

An ID card is very easy to loose.

Just look around you and I’m sure you’ll find many of your friends and family who have once lost it. It getting stolen is much more serious as the identity thief will snatch along with it everything he needs to know about you to compromise your privacy.

As for having kids, your advice came too late 🙂
