I’ve been hearing about this spa for a long time from friends, and as I was telling my friends this weekend that I needed a massage and that I probably will go to The Day Spa, which is my favorite massage place in all O the land, my friend Ban1 told me, for the 10th time, that I should consider going to the one in crown plaza hotel. He said that it is the best place in Kuwait. So, as a massage fan and more importantly as a blogger looking for good material for you readers, I went to Aquatonic Spa and took my camera with me.

The place is newly built, as in not as old as the hotel itself. From the moment I stepped in (after being scanned by the security and his beeping device) I felt that this place is going to be special. The entrance was a very nice introduction to the whole experience. Water falls, a small lake with wooden and the whole thing was very nicely done.

^The relaxing area after the massage where you’re treated to warm drinks.

^ A side of the Spa.

The interiors were exquisite. The marbles and the designs kinda reminded me of the lavish decorations of Dubai’s hotels, you know the ones that made you go “I live in a dump.” Well, long story short, the place looked very nice from the inside and out. We were alos give a tour to see the rest of the Spa’s facilites and they were all luxurious. The pool was the highlight of the place. Click this LINK to learn more about it.

^The huge pool. The guy giving us the tour said I couldn’t take any more pictures.

Down to business. The massage room and the massage itself.:

The massage room was fancy, not too big, but not too small either, just the right size. Comes in the room: a sink, a bathroom (with the most amazing shower I’ve ever tried!) a closet and a safe for your valuables. Considering that I highly appreciate privacy this place gets a 9/10 (coz the masseur knocked more than once while I was taking pictures. I had come up with excuses)

The massage was done by an indonesian masseur. He was GOOD. The massage lasted an hour and it was one of the best massages I’ve tried. He used hot towels in the process and the massage bed had this steaming thing going on underneath where the bed gets warm (the temperature is set to your liking) it was a nice addition.

All in all, the massage at this place is highly recommended. It is a bit expensive though, it’s KD 26 an hour (compared to KD 18 at The Day Spa). But hey if you want to spoil yourself every once in a while, this is the place to go. For more information check the hotel’s WEBSITE.

Thanks Ban1 for telling me about this place.

Other Massages I’ve reviewed:

The Day Spa. (on par with Aquatonic’s massage, but much less fancy)
Men Time.
The Banyan Tree (Bahrain).

  3. Yousef says:

Bu Yousef oh I didn’t know it was in the making for so long

ME yeah the place is so unlike the hotel it’s in. Aslan even the guy working at the Spa was distancing himself and the spa from the hotel. as for the pool I saw it was indoor and was mixed, both men and women were swimming in there.

  4. eleventh.st says:

The spa looks very nice! It’s always good when new places like this open up in Kuwait, esp when older ones tend to their level of quality as they get more popular.

  5. Someday says:

I’ve been to it, yes the place is WOW, but the massage itself was fine nothing so special about it, I’d rather if it was a fine place with a WOW massage any time

  6. Marzouq says:

  12. Ansam says:

My favorite place in Kuwait is Elements by Banyan Tree – Royal Hayat.. though my coworker kept telling me to try this one at Crown Plaza. She explained it as “extraordinary” and “out of this world”… Now you are the second person I know who actually tried it and you got so many good things here to share! Maybe I should give it a try, but I am still thinking Elements would be my fav for many reasons… Main reason is convenience, lots of parking places (no I dont like valet) and not too far from where I live!

  13. Anon says:

the hotel may not be the best ..but their Gym and now the aquatonic are the best as opposed to any other in Kuwait

  17. Daddyz Girl says:

Thanx yousef for sharing it with us , cant wait to try it 😉

  18. b says:

is it a mixed spa or do they have separate days for men and women?

  19. bo9ale7 says:

By the way yousef this is not even 1/4 my room. now i realized that the guy was serious when he asked the masseur to put in in VIP room. Mine was way larger in size and it had something like bathtub in the middle of the room and jaccauzi

  20. Intlxpatr says:

I have heard that the pool has different exercise stations, that you spend like nine minutes at each post and do that activity and it tells you how many calories you burn. Then you can go eat at their new Villagio (?) (Italian) restaurant and not worry about the calories!

  27. Yousef says:

To Answer some of your questions:

There are masseuses for women and masseurs for men. but the spa, as far as what we’ve witness is mixed.

The pool shown in the first and second picture isn’t a pool, but a little artificial lake at the entrance.

If you’re a man and can’t stand being massaged by another man, look somewhere else 😛

The pool, just like what intlxpatr have said in her comment have “different exercise stations, that you spend like nine minutes at each post and do that activity and it tells you how many calories you burn”.

And no the massage doesn’t include the pool usage.

    🙂

  28. Yousef says:

Thanks 5ermesS and intlxpatr for chipping in with your answers. Your help is always highly appreciated! 🙂

  31. Intlxpatr says:

At a friend’s house, I saw a chart that listed special times for females at the pool. I am guessing that means there are female only times . . . I checked online, but could not find the schedule there – I think you have to ask and they will give it to you.
