Your friend – that lost shot – fantastic! Look at the light he got on the water going into the fire. Amazing.
The fire was not totally out until late in the night, and this morning, it is still smoking and people are barred from going in. The Diraa Souk (upscale fabric) and the Souk al Asseiri (lower cost fabrics) are fine. Many smaller stores in between the two suffered smoke damage, but are otherwise OK. The first and oldest bookstore in Doha was totally destroyed.
