As I was going through my pictures I came across a picture I took of my friends, and in the background were these 2 women. We were at the beach when we saw these 2 women carrying 2 big black bags, walking along the beach picking and cleaning what other trashy people threw away.
I don’t clean up after others so I won’t be preaching when it comes to that, but I don’t trash either, and I wish we’d take this issue more seriously. You know what I do when I have something I want to throw when and I can’t find a bin? I put it in my pocket! I can always throw it out laer. You won’t be fined if you were found with a tissue or a little plastic wrapper in your pockets…
I really get mad when people throw garbage . I think if you are a clean person then you should be clean everywhere.As for me when I cant find a bin I use my handbag .
Mashallah 3alahum oo yezahum allahh 5air..I hate seening trash around Kuwait streets and beaches, 7aram! Just keeping it clean and see the differance it will make!
I9araa7a, as a Kuwaiti, I feel proud that there are people like that among us. Volunteerism, whether its related to the environment or other social causes is a sign of a nation’s development. Moreover, it seems that these girls were not part of some major media covered campaign. In my opinion, even if that were the case, it does not lessen from the act or its importance but the fact that there was no coverage shows how selfless these girls were being. ya36eehom el 3afya wallah. I’m very proud of them..there are occasions where i take out a napkin and pick up some of the trash “soda cans, candy wrappers, etc..” that people throw on the ground. I wish the municipality would take tough action against people who do such primitive things.

Seldom do I find people in Kuwait cleaning up after their own pets. Mostly, it’s people cleaning up after other people’s pets. With dog ownership in Kuwait being what it is (by far the highest in the Persian Gulf) there is need for a public awareness campaign encouraging people to clear up dog droppings.
elsan3 wallah! u should give “7adeqaht Qortuba” a visit on a saturday, wtshuf ikhwanh el3rb how they trash it! 6ay7elh tishowey o sheeshah! And then when it’s time to go after their long “tasyourah” they wrap their rug and pack their left-overs.

Good for these young ladies. I hope more people are motivated to get out and care for their own country in such a manner.
I walked this weekend in front of the Protection of the Marine Environment building in Salwa. The beach directly in front of the building is covered in trash, debris (including tires), and sewage waste. The building includes a diwaniya for a multitude of old men who are in there any given day/time, smoking cigarettes and carrying on. Wouldn’t it have been money better spent to have workers actually PROTECTING the marine environment by cleaning it -especially as it is in full view from where the ones who are supposedly “protecting” the environment are seated? SHAME on them!
Your post motivates me. Maybe I’ll go there with friends this weekend and clean up.
You know what I would really like to happen? I want people to take responsibility for their trash. What these girls did was amazing and may Allah reward them for it, but that would not improve other people’s bad habits!
I wish volunteers would carry reminder signs for people to clean up after themselves in beaches and gardens. Whenever a group gets up to leave, the volunteers should approach them with the signs. I am assuming the group of campers would feel some embarrassment from the personal contact and start tidying up their area. Little by little they would develop good cleaning habits. And that’s only one suggestion.
