Amazon.com Inc is to sell its larger Kindle electronic reader, aimed at students, businesspeople and newspaper readers, in more than 100 countries for $489, following the rollout of its original device last year.Source

Do you think there is a market for it in Kuwait?

Personally, I can’t buy this device. It wouldn’t be healthy for my wallet. I have plenty of books I bought from abroad and they’re all waiting on my bookshelf to be read. I just can’t afford having this device and the access to the huge selection of books.

But then again, for book lovers this would be their savior. We all know the state of bookshops in Kuwait. This might be heaven sent for them if it reached and worked in Kuwait.

unless ur thinking of downloading the books/magazines via laptop then uploading to kindle its worthless here.
and yes i think it would have a market here.

The Kindle is already available worldwide from last year. The news article is about the Kindle DX that just now also became available as a global edition. The Kindle DX is the larger Kindle.

Kuwait is not on the list.

    Paper Back > Kindle.. simple..

also Amazon can delete from your Kindle.. that I will never accept!

I wish we can have that in kuwait!!

  9. Touchofmeh says:

If you look up the countries in the Kindle’s directory, Kuwait is not included, you could still download to laptop and transfer to kindle like mentioned above. The best way that Kindle could work here if they managed to get subscriptions from newspaper companies, like they do in the US. Imagine reading Alqabas or Alrai on your kindle, now that would be satisfying.

Personally, even if it was available in Kuwait, I wouldn’t get it. I love the feeling of books and paper – and I already stare at my computer monitor for so many hours a day. I don’t need to be reading my books through a monitor either..

  13. I had my kindleDX delivered last month. And just wanted to say I am so happy! :). I did some research on google and also asked my collegues for feedback. Finally bought it from Kindle Store. They were running a promo and I got $25 off. I am so pleased with it after having downloaded digital media from Amazon – all of them were free! I just love it!
