Will be tomorrow, It seems they are dropping one after the other, it’ll be interesting to see which one would last.
UPDATE: They’ve just announced that the last issue will be on the 10th of May. Total newspapers in Kuwait will be decreased to 14 newspapers.
I don’t read Arabic so I can’t comment on the quality of Awan. That said things are not very different when it comes to the English dailies here.
Here unfortunately papers resort to merely cutting and pasting stories from international news wires. Those created locally are so poorly written, one would never venture into reading it beyond the headlines.
It is not impossible and I am sure there is a readership out here hoping for a quality English daily. It works well in Abu Dhabi
with The National. It has quality journalists who cover a wide array of subjects pertaining to the UAE in depth. Very well written articles and a fantastic weekend edition to match. We could seriously do with one here in Kuwait.
