In France, it is not officially unlocked when you purchase the iPhone. However, for 100 euros, if you request it, they can unlock it for you on the spot.

From what I can remember, I think there is a French law that says that any customers who want to unlock their carrier-locked phones, they can request it from the carrier 3 months after the purchase and the carrier has to do it for free. Before that, it is fair game for the carrier :)

Why are u surprised that KSA is on the list? Frankly I would be REALLY surprised if Kuwait was on the list!

  17. Guys, surprised or not, Kuwait is only approx 3 million, with only Half of that is the targetable segment. compared to Saudi, we’re like. a suburb of Riyadh!! What I’d like to know is, who will be selling it in Kuwait & when? The usual suspects like europhone/Xcite/eureka/electrozan?

    France offers authorized unlocking.

And the other carriers in the region need to make a deal with Apple already and stop relying on gray market iPhones from Australia and Hong Kong!
