“We set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloads in 24 hours. With your help we reached 8,002,530 downloads.

You are now part of a World Record and the proud owner of the best version of Firefox yet!

Don’t forget to download your very own certificate for helping set a Guinness World Record.”

Since Ramadan is getting closer and i know there will be tons of kuwaiti series and talk shows, i think I’ll need something like a media center for me which is capable of:

  • Recording directly from a reciever or DVD player.
  • Can watch YouTube with it <- (MUST coz my wife is a BIG fan of YouTube :) ).
  • Built in hard drive.
  • Can work with Mac.
  • WiFi – G or N doesn’t matter.

A little search in Amazon plus Google ended up with:

Can anyone help me with it? can anyone find one with all the features above?

UPDATE:

INM just got his Archos TV+ I just bought it from INM ((sharaita 3ala kharaba :P )) and it seems its nearly perfect device, it got HD, YouTube, and many more. im thinking of getting one. BTW i will make a review of it.

“Although Apple is marketing Mac OS X Snow Leopard as an operating system update with “no new features,” under the hood improvements will actually translate into a slew of new enhancements”

New multi-touch framework

With all Apple notebook systems due to ship with multi-touch enabled trackpads following this summer’s MacBook and MacBook Pro design overhauls, Apple is putting the finishing touches on a complete multi-touch framework that will ship as part of Snow Leopard.”

Slimmer applications

Another goal of Snow Leopard is to reduce the overall footprint of Mac OS X so that it can be scaled to a growing array of mobile devices that will rely on lower capacity solid-state Flash RAM drives, like the upcoming Apple Newton Web tablet.”

Text processing features

Taking a page out of Redmond’s handbook for once, Snow Leopard will also leverage text processing features originally conceived by Microsoft as features for Word.”

Auto Activation

Apple will also build out its Data Detector technology with Snow Leopard. In addition to extracting contacts and events from Mail as it does in Mac OS X Leopard, the technology will be used to help expand upon Font Book to provide full Auto Activation of any fonts requested by any application, using Spotlight to track them down.”

ZFS Support

Finally, Snow Leopard will also be the first version of Mac OS X to boast full support for the much ballyhooed ZFS file system, originally designed by Sun Microsystems for the Solaris Operating System.

Mac OS X Leopard debuted read-only ZFS features, but Snow Leopard and Snow Leopard Server will provide both read and write support for the new 128-bit file system.”

Note: You know what I think the most important phrase in all of this copy-paste fest that just happened? This phrase “ship with multi-touch enabled trackpads following this summer’s MacBook and MacBook Pro design overhauls.” uhhh… WHAT!! 8O

Taken from Apple Insider, here is the FULL ARTICLE.

Thanks Taymoor.

Finally! they are accepting online payments. This what i’ve got from Ahmad:

“Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for using our SHOP&SHIP service. Our aim is to continuously enhance your shopping experience with us.

We are about to launch a new feature on www.aramex.com which would allow you to make online payments for your shipping charges. We would like to offer this feature first to our VIP clients in order to eliminate delays in delivery due to cash unavailability.

We hope that this new feature will be to your satisfaction, and we welcome your feedback on the service.

We want to assure you that our most important objective is to continue providing you with quality transportation services that meet your needs effectively.”

i think now i can say Bye Bye USWS :P

Thanks Ahmad

As you may already know, I’ve been looking everywhere for hotspots because of my internet problem, and I came across this interesting website recently that offers you a list of free hotspots all over the world. Take a look HERE.

We pay for the DSL service the whole year nonstop just to be able to enjoy the month or so we spend here without the need of interacting with their ISP (France Telecom). But they NEVER fail to let us down and they always meet our expectations of bad service and incompetency. As I said before in another post, the internet has been cut off, as of yet, for unknown reasons, and its been like this for 5 days now. No internet for 5 days, save for the random cafes and mcdonald’s here and there. Wifi begging is so not what I want to be doing while I’m on vacation. Allah yakhith il french o their service o takhalofhom!!!!

Note to Labeeba: your house is disconnected too. :D

Hi all, Yesterday we changed hosting companies. We were hosted by wordpress and now godaddy. The move have caused some things not work properly and other things went missing. We’re still going to work on the site, meaning we’re gonna change the theme, the header and maybe everything else, but we’re going to take our time doing all this stuff, we’re still pretty illiterate when it comes to these types of stuff. But, atleast now we’re done with the thing we were most worried about.

We’d like to thank 9K2HN for helping us with this move… Actually, he didn’t help us, I think it was more like.. we stepped aside and let him take control. If it weren’t for him, we probably would still be talking to that guy from bluehost through their live chat :P Thankyou.

Firefox are planning to set a Guinness World Record by orchestrating a download day for their much anticipated (not by me) Firefox 3. You can go to their website and read more about it, and maybe participate in the pledge yourself and sign up for a reminder. I did. Not sure why, knowing that I don’t use firefox… I think I just wanted to be part of this thing! :D

Up to now There are 244 Kuwaiti pledges.

Thanks Pure.

Today i got a phone call from 9K2HN telling me that Amex now accepts online payments! Yes finally! i did login to my account and found this:

As you can see above they are accepting K-Net for Kuwait as an option, i didnt try it yet but according to 9K2HN the exchange rate was something around 0.269 which is fair in my opinion.

Anyway Thanks a lot 9K2HN for this ebsharaaa :P
