My brother ordered a laptop for a friend. This friend made his debut to online buying with this laptop purchase. Its his very first time..

This is how the story goes.. Our friend wanted to buy the newly released White Macbook with a 2.4 processor & 2 GB RAM. My brother (6ag issadir) and helped him order, using my DHL address. 12 days later the laptop arrived and our friend went to the customs to pick it up (He payed 65kd to the DHL, 57 for the delivery and 8kd for the requested insurance) Anyway! He took it and started playing around with it.. a day or 2 later and as he was looking around, he decided to take a look at the device specs.. he went to that little Apple icon on top and clicked on About This Mac.

I got a call from my brother saying there was a mistake with the order! We ordered and paid for the 2.4 and got the 2.1 instead!!

After much investigation and contemplating my brother stumbled upon the 2 stickers shown above. Turned out there was a mistake from Amazon.com’s side when placing these 2 stickers. One of the stickers states that this is a 2.1 Macbook and the other says its the newer (more expensive) 2.4 Macbook!

We, and by we I mean my brother, have already sent an email to Amazon and are waiting their reply!

This is not their first time messing up our orders. I remember once Me, Mishary & INM were shocked to find boring books in the package instead of the DVDs we’ve ordered.

Amazon today introduced TextBuyIt, a new service that lets you use text messages to find and buy products sold on Amazon.com. Simply send a text message to “AMAZON” (262966) with the name of the product, search term or a UPC or ISBN code, and Amazon replies with the product or products that match the search, along with prices. To buy an item, customers simply reply to the text message by entering the unique single digit number next to the item they want. Customers will then receive a short phone call from Amazon with the final details of their order and asking them to confirm or cancel the purchase.When customers choose to purchase something for the first time using TextBuyIt, they will be asked for their e-mail address and shipping ZIP code they use for their Amazon.com account. With this information, Amazon uses customers’ default settings for payment method, shipping address and shipping speed, including 2-Day shipping for Amazon Prime members. (I’m Still unsure whether international orders are accepted or not).

A few days ago i received my Time Capsule, the 500GB version. it was supposed to be shipped at the end of Feb. but due to some version update Apple delayed it till the end of March.

Whats in the box:

• Time Capsule.
• Power Cable.
• Manual.
• Installation CD.

  

  I thought it would fit nicely on top of my Mac Mini, but turned out its a lot wider & thinner. but it looks sexy!

  Straight to the point

  Pros:

  • wireless access 24/7 to your storage people! this is soo cool! Im backing up my mac & vista wirelessly!
  • i connected it with my Zain router, so now it acts as my storage PLUS internet. The fact that its Wireless N is making it a very good access point.
  • Its Sexy! its an apple product! yes im considering apple a plus!

    Cons:

    • Syncing. It takes ages to sync wirelessly. backing up my MBP took around 8-10 Hours.

      The 500GB costs KD80 & the 1TB costs KD133.

      I give it a 4 Out of 5.

I bought 2 of this pant in 2 different colors over a year and a half ago. Since then I’ve been wearing them nonstop! I just love them.. They’re very comfy, they always look new out of the washing machine, they have many sizes & colors and they go with everything!

My mother woke me up around 11:30 and gave me a red piece of paper with some weird words scribbled down on it. as i looked harder, squeezing all of my eye powers just to focus on this little paper, i read managed to read words like: delivered, postal service, my name..

I didn’t get it, i was half asleep so i can’t be blamed. but then Mom said “I think its concerning your laptop.” thats when i got fully awake! my laptop is here!!! turned out no, its not here. the ministry of whatever just sent me a notice to come and pick my laptop “or it will be returned to it’s source after 10 days.”

I sprung to my feet, went downstairs and asked our cook, i wanted more info. he said that a guy came, gave him this piece of paper and told him “let Yousef come see us and collect his package after 5 days.” HA! 5 days?! ILWAISH?!

I barely brushed my teeth and went to Kifan Central. after struggling to find the right counter, i finally managed to get my laptop just 1.5 minutes before their closing time. The guy asked me why did i bother come in such a hurry? I said “i paid a lot to get it in time and i didn’t want to waste the weekend with “what ifs” thoughts).

I didn’t pay a single dime for tax (and that my friends, made my week!)

You know how most of the time when you’re faced with a problem with a device you own, you start going through your manuals and online FAQs but your problem is no where to be found? It happens to me a lot.

Since i got married my internet shopping habbit increased by 400%. Me and my wife order from everything from socks to earrings! Kel shay kel shay! Walah walahnaa 3alla ghorfat el tabdeeel bel ma7alat! So we faced a problem in the past 1.5 year that whenever any site asks us to contact them by phone (and most of them provice 1-800-xxx-xxxx contact number) the problem with these numbers is that you can’t call them from outside the US. So the ONLY solution is Skype, Yes from skype you can call 1-800 even if you are out side the US.

So i went directly to Amazon and ordered Linksys iPhone.

Whats in the Box:

• Base station.
• iPhone head set.
• 2 chargers “1 for the head set and one for base station”.
• Ethernet cable.
• Manual.
• Head set battery.

• Land line cable.

Now let me go through their Pros and Cons:

Pros.

• It capable of holding the land line and Skype simultaneously.
• The head set base is separated from the base station.
• NOW i can call Apple and Amazon by simple touches! “walla fashla takhayelaw aloo gowa amazon!!!” .

Cons.

• Low quality build material.
• The two chargers designed for the US electricity, So you need an adapter to run them in Kuwait.

Final Score 3 out 5 “Due to low build quality & lack of multi voltage chargers.
