Remember the Modern Naydiya flip flop post that I did? I was very excited about getting them then very disappointed by it’s quality and all. Here is what Capital District Kuwait had to say about it in the comments section:

“Thank you for your comments.. i am the wife of the owner of CDK, and we do apologize, for the quality of the flip flops.. but when we got the samples of the flip flops they were amazing..and when we received them, they turned out to be like that. and this was our 1st time to ever do flip flops.. please bare with us. i assure you all if we do flip flops again, it will be a better standard than that….and Yousef as soon as we do our new flip flops we will send you one for free and give us your feedback..However, I thank you all for your concerns and and comments.. we will not let you down again
Good Day”

I like when people acknowledge mistakes and offer compensation, it takes all the negativity away. This is how things should be like when you’re in a competitive environment.

At 360 mall for unknown reason.

They’ve just opened their branch in ground floor in Salhiya complex.

Thanks INM

See I’ve heard many good things about Capital District and their material and clothe lines and stuff, thats why I wrote about buying their Modern Naydiya. I liked the concept and thought the material would be decent for such a low price. I should’ve known better.

The Naydiya I got turned out nothing like what I had in mind. I don’t know why I thought it’d have a real naydiya base, and then some kind of a fabric for the upper red strips. Apparently I didn’t take a good look at the picture before buying it coz it turned out all rubber.. but hey I like rubber slippers, nothing wrong with rubber, except this one was way too cheap. The material was cheap with horrible finishing, and the red color on top was too pale, not to mention that it was uncomfortable. I don’t think I’ll ever wear this one.

Epic Fail.

Just found out that my wife bought this Sholl HydraStep slipper which is basically got contains a special moisturising gel which nourishes the skin while you walk .

The gel in the sole of the sandal is infused with gentle natural emollients, vitamin E and a delicate fragrance.

You can order them from HERE for around KD 11.5

I’m sure that every one of you have heard of Net-a-Porter, which is a women based online shopping store but now finally they’ve decided to launch their men version. I hope they gonna offer the same services such as international shipping with free returns.

Due to misleading fact that its hand made but in reality its manufactured in factories.

I like looking at the shops windows (vatrenas) and I never thought of how creative a person must be to turn up with nice displays and decorations. Personally, I liked what MeBlogging did with this shop in 360 mall. I’ve seen other stuff on her blog, and I know that she is a creative person, but I especially liked this one. I think mainly because it’s so simple and easy to make! (the child in me wants that spray paint to soak everything in sight so bad!)

Check out her post for toys spray painting tips

Note: I had fun making the picture above by the way.

My Banana Republic pant is made in Bahrain. I didn’t know they had a factory there!?

I went right after the opening on thursday and the place was exploding with customers. It was a nightmare, a good nightmare, coz everything was worth buying! I loved the collection (I’ve never been to an American Eagle and own none of their stuff so it was all new to me). The queue for the fitting rooms was ridiculous, I was wondering how were the staff coping with it (Surprisingly they were on top of things).

My friend asked a lady who worked for AE and was at Dubai branch’s opening if it was as crowded as it is in Kuwait (First branch in the middle east opened in Dubai on 17th of this month) She said that they are surprised at the amount of people who showed up in here and that “the turn up is at least 10 times Dubai’s.”

The staff although busy as hell were ready to answer questions and fetch things for me while in fitting room. Great collection. Bought 3 shirts and 2 shorts. Good stuff!

I’d go in the mornings if I were you or right after work coz I wouldn’t wish that queue even on enemies.

I was in Bahrain this past weekend and I found these 2 dishdashas by Jill Sander at villa moda.

The white one is for 210 KD and the black is 256 KD.

A couple of days ago 4th Rig Road’s blog mentioned that Crocs store finally opened in Kuwait, So INM decided to go to Discovery Mall and have a look there, he noticed that the store is so tiny and not updated with the latest Crocs models. Well, atleast it opened in the right time since Crocs online is no more accepting our credit cards, even the Amex. So now our only way to get Crocs either by this store or by Amazon, but amazon doesn’t have a wide collection to choose from.

American eagle first branch in Kuwait in march - alshaya

I posted a few months ago that Alshaya got a franchising agreement to get the American eagle to Kuwait & the Middle east.

My friend just told me that it’s going to open it’s first branch in Kuwait in march. It’ll be in the Avenues mall, and it’ll take Topman’s location.

It’ll also open it’s first branch in Dubai, 10 days before Kuwait’s.

Thanks Taymoor

Abercrombie kuwait

My cousin was at Omnia Mall in Salmiya and he came across this Abercrombie shop. He told me that it’s not a part of the franchise, and he also mentioned that he had his doubts when it comes to the clothes, but he’s not sure.

Does any one know if the clothes are genuine or fake?

Happy news for online shoppers, Saks Fifth Avenue added Kuwait to their list so now they ship directly to Kuwait via FedEx.

saks

Also there is an option to view all the items in Kuwaiti dinars, But the sad news is not all brands can be shipped to Kuwait for example, Juicy Couture, UGG Australia .. and others.

I like buying stuff and use them right away instead of buying off the net and wait awhile to get them. So, If you’re looking for a bag for your laptop, you may want to take a look at the ones in Ashraf. I was at their Dar Al Awadhi branch the other day looking for some photography related stuff, and while looking around I noticed they had a good selection of Case Logic bags, and also some Lowepro bags. And their prices were reasonable too.

Save your goatee

It help save time and spare you the undesired uneven-goatee look. Here is the amazon LINK incase you’re interested.
