I finally bought it!!!

Its not what I originally wanted.. not the D40x (which apparently a little less featured than its competitor’s the Canon EOS 400D, A.K.A. Rebel xti).

I went to Jacky’s the electronic store in Emirates mall yesterday. its the official agent for Nikon’s cameras. I went there and annoyed the hell out of the sales person, I asked about everything, the warranty, the features, the free gifts and spent 20 minutes just bargaining with him and trying my best to lower the price. he won ofcourse…

Earlier I talked to Mishary and his brother about which camera should I go with, coz seriously I was torn and couldn’t make up my mind. Mishary was very straight forward “the canon has more features? go with it!”, INM on the other hand was like “you’ve spent months just researching the Nikon and trying it in stores, so you should go with it.. you obviously want it more”.

later when I bought it Mishary said “congratulations”, while INM said “WHY!!! I wanted you to buy the Nikon so I could buy the Canon!!”. . . . thanks a lot INM for the precious advice… NOT!

ultimately my thanks goes to Ahmad for his educated advice (even though he admitted his bias toward Canon himself) but I think I made the right choice

Here are the unpacking process

I played with it for hours. my first thoughts were “what have i gotten myself into!” but after the first hour I got used to it.. I still think there is a very LONG way for me and so many things to learn about my first DSLR! but I’m happy that I can finally begin the real learning process.

Today i received my Apple Mac Mini from Ebay .. “its used and in good condition” it cost me around KD100  “i need it just for downloading episodes and seeing the stock market in my living room because it will be connected with my 42″ LCD TV.

Its pretty small and compact !

Before I got married I used to sleep in peace without any sound or lights but my wife used to sleep with sound and TV and lights and radio and and and …. Every thing on! after I got married, me & my wife got in troubles sleeping so we decide to solve these problems and one of them is this PillowSonic which u can connect it into TV, CD  and Radio or even ur iPod and u can put it under ur pillow and listen into  news or music or Quran.

Here you can see Kenwood boiler that changes color as the water heats up. It goes from blue indicating the water is cold, to a bright red indicating the water is boiled and ready to scald. Moreover it can also be set to only heat the water to 80 degrees and it will maintain this constant temperature until you shut it off. .. i think its nice

Anyway, we love going to Dragon Mart because we never know what to expect next! there are always new and interesting things to be seen! for example, the last time I went there, I went with my old roommate (HI flan!!) and we bought us some tiny helicopters. they’re addictive! my other friend (INM ) bought a bag, a tiny tree and some other things (I forgot what else, wila chan fetha7ta!)

the prices are very competitive and the quality is great! (considering the price you’re paying ) anyway, here are some pictures of some of the weird products that can be found there. thanks goes to loco for providing the photos.

From now on no need for ur traditional key chain and every time you forget whats ur front house key and whats your office key and so on.

It holds 6 keys ((3 keys each side)) and just slide the key u want Thats it ! .. More over it got a flash light.

They have four colors Silver, Black, Pink and Blue.

You can see above the dimensions of it is pretty good and it cost around KD82 which is costly and after ordering it u must send ur six keys to them to reshape them so that they can fit in it. “which is a disadvantage”.
