I’ve been attending diving classes for the past 3 days at Bubbles diving center. I don’t know how my friend bo9ale7 convinced me to join, I’m not the sportish type; I never really think of ‘activity’ when considering an outing… coz well, let’s just say I’m more of a restaurants person But I wouldn’t have thought that I’d enjoy diving this much!
The diving lessons started on Monday and will be ending on Saturday. Over the last 2 days we were studying the basics of diving with Captain Abdulrahman AlSarheed over at Bubbles diving center. The classes were very informative, and have done a nice job preparing us for the real thing.
Today, the 3rd day into the course, we got to practice what we were taught. We went to a huge swimming pool in Al Araby club in AlMansouriya. The experience was magical. Going in with all those diving gears and breathing under water was one of the most special things I’ve done, ever.
I’m too tired to keep writing after the dip in the pool, but rest assured a full review of the experience and Bubbles diving center will be published once I get my Beginners License.

Just checked Mark’s blog an found out about this very concerning news. I did some googling anf found out that the disease, according to the officials, haven’t spread among the civilians, yet, just the unspecified number of US troops, and that the patients are being taken care of and some have been deported back to their country.
From ABC news:
A number of United States soldiers who passed through Kuwait have swine flu, a health official says, adding there are no cases among Kuwaitis.
Undersecretary of Health Ibrahim al-Abdulhadi told the official KUNA news agency the unspecified number of soldiers were immediately isolated at the US base in Arifjan, 70 kilometres south of the capital.
He said they were given the necessary medication and that most had left the country.
An unspecified number of others were kept for treatment at the base hospital. No details were given on their condition.
Mr Abdulhadi said Kuwait itself was free of the disease.

I was recommended this Spa by Ansam, and since I’m making it my duty to find the best massage place in Kuwait, I went.
The place isn’t hard to find at all, it’s in Salmiya, gulf road, the right after Divas restaurant then the third building on the left. It’s a men’s Salon & Spa, haven’t tried one of those before. It isn’t big, the salon is upfront and the spa is in the back, however it is very nicely designed with a modern feel. The people working there and the reception was very nice and warm. Even when I asked about the possiblity of taking pictures they were all smiles and approved immediately (this isn’t the case most of the times with spas).

I’ve been hearing about this spa for a long time from friends, and as I was telling my friends this weekend that I needed a massage and that I probably will go to The Day Spa, which is my favorite massage place in all O the land, my friend Ban1 told me, for the 10th time, that I should consider going to the one in crown plaza hotel. He said that it is the best place in Kuwait. So, as a massage fan and more importantly as a blogger looking for good material for you readers, I went to Aquatonic Spa and took my camera with me.

I think we’d live longer if we had rain once every 3 days in Kuwait*
So last week in the chalet I took some pictures of the flowers growing wildly right infront of our chalet and on the beach. The pictrues turned out nicely, imo, which got me thinking as I was editing the hell out of them.. What if it rained every 3 days in Kuwait for, say, 3 or 4 years.. what would happen? I think We’d live longer. But how?
I’ll tell you..

There was a KDD stand in our co-op yesterday and the woman there was telling us about this new Gaimar (Thick cream) they’re introducing, it’s called Nojoud. The brand KDD isn’t written on the cover but is mentioned that it’s produced by them on the side of the box. We tried it and it turned to be very tasty. I’m not a fan of Gaimar, but since it wasn’t as thick and strong as their other golden packed gaimar, I really liked it. You could eat it with a spoon.

Taco Bell has a branch in the newly opened Dubai mall. Since it’s in Dubai, I think the chances of it opening here in Kuwait have increased a bit.
I’m not one of those who love everything that isn’t in Kuwait, like Nandos and wagamama, Everyone wanted them in Kuwait, I didn’t, coz they suck (sue me). But it’s different this time, I really hope Taco Bell opens up a branch here in Kuwait simply coz I’m fed up with all the sandwiches here. Mcdonald’s patties have gone downhill for awhile now and no one seems to mind or even notice! I mean have you tried their cheeseburgers? why are their beef patties so damn dry?! and Hardee’s… The posters they have plastered everywhere showing this big chicken sandwich covered in buffalo sauce…. Turns my stomach up.
I’m rambling. My point is, I think I need my fast food fix from somewhere new and different. Tacos could potentially be it.

If you enjoy camping and are thinking of going with your friends or family, then I think you should read this little story I got here:
My father’s friend’s son was camping with his friends somewhere in Kuwait. The place wasn’t isolated and they were surrounded with a lot of other campers. It was night time and the guy couldn’t sleep but all of his other friends were asleep. He was just lying there facing the tent’s loosely shut door. They never fully shut the door incase someone was in a hurry to relieve himself in the middle of the night…
While he was staring at the door waiting to fall asleep, he saw someone trying to get in. He was expecting to see a familiar face entering, but instead he saw a very tall black man entering the tent. He stayed quite. He didn’t know him and immediately sensed that he and possibly all of his friends were in danger, so he stayed quite, fearing that the guy might be armed and any movement may evoke the guy to use whatever weapon he may be carrying. The guy entered the tent and was looking around by now. Our friend made sure to stay quite and followed the guy with his eyes. The guy came close to him, he was carrying a big stick.. it was too wide for a stick.. then he saw it, the guy was carrying a big butcher knife like the one pictured above. He knew it.. either stay quite and hope for the best, or make a sound and result in a catastrophe.
The guy went from one person to another, taking every mobile he finds. He even had the nerve to uncover one of the sleeping guys to take the mobile from under the blanket. After taking 5 mobiles, he turned around and went out of the tent.
Moral of the story: BECAREFUL OUT THERE!

This is a cake Mom ordered from a woman who bakes and sell her homemade cakes.
I thought the cake was nice and light. Others thought it was just an average but heavy cake. It tasted like a plain saralee cake (can be found in every co-op) filled with jam and whipped cream. The cream tasted nice and unique in my opinion. I haven’t tasted a whipping cream this nice in Kuwait before. The raspberry jam complemented the overall simplicity of the cake and made it feel like I was eating something healthy for a change. (I know jam is filled with sugar but it felt healthy!)
