This time I won’t translate the whole article, I’ll just post the actual article in its original form and will offer just a summary, a very brief summary, coz i don’t want to leave some of you guys totally out.

Mom basically wrote an article discussing the recent renaming of one of our favorite area names in Kuwait, Al Messila, to a name that belongs to a late member of the royal family. She explains how its not appropriate and that there are people whom are benefiting from this by doing favors to get closer to the big guys. And lastly, she’s suggesting that a street named after that person or a high school would’ve been much more appropriate. Thats the whole idea in short.

I’ve talked to many people and all of them, me included, agreed that no one we know will ever stop using the old beautiful name in favor of the new name. We just think its not right.

I wrote a post around 4 months ago discussing this same issue, read it here. Many other bloggers have wrote about this and I liked this blog’s post the most.

Rumors have been circulating in the media all through last week about this surprise wedding. Now its confirmed, she got married to Nick Cannon, and who’s a better source of confirmation than the big O herself?

To watch today’s episode of Oprah where she and her friends discuss the marriage, Click here.

I knew something would get in my way of seeing Mariah in Dubai. I just knew. Now watch her cancel the show and the promoters refund our money.

Edit:

Just as predicted, the concert got canceled and they’re refunding our money.

Yes, it arrived yesterday with the wheel too! what can i say?! Hmmm.. I have been a fan of Mario Kart ever since it first came out. Before this game came out, the best one, hands down was Mario Kart 64. This game takes the Game Cube version, improves it, and adds all of the elements that made the game famous in the first place.

The wheel is a great toss in, and is fun to play with, and the response is much more accurate than expected. Even better is that you can go online and play different people from around the world in versus mode or battle mode. This is so much fun when you don’t have someone you can play with at home… all you have to do is go online and you can play whoever you want. If you have a friend that has a Wii you can add their friend code and race each other too.

My Score:
Graphics – 4.5
Audio – 5
Replay – 5
Fun – 5
Controls – 5

Overall 5/5 (its a must for a wii owner!)

If you’re thinking of attending Mariah or Fergie’s concerts in Dubai on the 15th and 16th of May, respectively, then you should sign up for the tickets right now and get on that waitlist they’ve put up. I’m not sure why they’re offering a waitlist option for those events, usually waitlists are for unconfirmed events.. wait a minute.. *Gasps*

Anyway, Here is the LINK, go reserve your tickets and they’ll contact you as soon as they become available for sale.

buona fortuna Y’all :P

Thanks INM.

Mariah is doing a concert in Dubai in around 2 weeks, on the 15th of May to be specific, followed by a concert by Fergie on the 16th.

“Music fans can enjoy a double helping of diva in Dubai with confirmed concert dates for the world’s number one-selling female artist Mariah Carey and former Black Eyed Peas Fergie.

Universal Music has this week confirmed the world-renowned artists will perform at Dubai Festival City with back-to-back concerts on May 15 and 16.

Promoting her new album, E=MC², which this week hit the top of the Billboard charts, Carey will perform first on Thursday, May 15, followed by Fergie the following evening.

Ticket prices have not yet been announced but are expected to go on sale online at either www.timeouttickets.com or www.showbizme.com from tomorrow.

Rebecca Brianceau, of Universal, Dubai, said the label was extremely excited to be bringing two such wonderful artists to Dubai back-to-back. “We are so excited about the concerts and cannot wait to welcome the ladies to the UAE. We are expecting great things on both nights.”

The venue holds a capacity crowd of 15,000 and tickets for both concerts are expected to sell out in a matter of days.”

As of now, if all went well and nothing serious stood in my way, I’ll be going o chinnnnnnaa il3eeeeeeed! :D

I went yesterday to the Mayadeen shooting range with my friend. It was my first time in Kuwait, I went once in Dubai and I loved it over there. In Dubai I used shotguns which made quite an impression on me.. and my shoulder.

This time it was time for a Handgun! I was very curious as to how it would feel in my hand. At first It felt awkward and got really nervous while loading the the bullets into the magazine then it got weird after hearing the sound my friend was making while he was firing away. It was loud.

I guess I’m a natural :P

The place was very professional. From the moment we stepped in and until we left, all the people working there were very friendly and welcoming. There is a guy there who helps you and teach you all what you need to know before you touch the gun. He stays behind you and watches you and gives you advices. The shooting ranges were empty when we first came in, some people, guys and girls, started coming shortly after but it was still considered empty imo. There was lots of other shooting ranges. even a virtual range! where you hold a play gun and point it to a big screen.

We shot 20 shots each, and paid 12 KD, thats 6KD a nafar. :D

Their manager was so nice! He saw me taking pictures of the place so he came over and invited me to his office to show me all those old guns, some of them were used in the 1st world war and other were used in Aljahra war in Kuwait in 1920! He was also nice enough to let me use his personal M16! that one was out of this world! for a second there I felt like a SWAT member lol! Seriously the manager was very nice. Thanks manager!

“Sah El Nawm featuring the world famous Fayrouz was originally composed by the Rahbani Brothers and performed for the first time at the Damascus International Festival in 1970.

Admired for its dramatic intensity, rich storyline, humour and musical rhythms, the play has received tremendous success and praise for its strong focus on the Arab world.”

This is not an event you’d wanna miss. I wish I could attend.. Maybe I will you never know.

By the way who is older Fayrouz Or Sabah :?:

Lifted from loco. For more info go to Showbizme.

Getting a flat tire on your car always sucks. I don’t care where you are, it’s never fun to change a tire. Usually the worst part is actually trying to jack your car up so you can take off the wheel ((9K2HN do you remember  Abdili road)) :)

Usually you’ll find the worst excuse for a car jack known to man in your trunk. You know the kind, they have some kind of rod that you have to twist about three hundred times, then you get to do it all again when you’re done changing the tire. I believe I’ve found the coolest jack ever.

It gonna cost you around KD34. I think its worth it.

For people like me & my wife who never know how much pasta to cook (it’s either too much or too little and we’re either unsatisfied or have two days of leftovers), I think this chrome device will solve our issue, it measures the amount of spaghetti for up to four people and doubles as a trivet.

Thanks to Ahmad.

Around a week ago my Brother told me that there was some Kuwaiti soap being filmed infront of where he’s living and that he has an insider there telling him about the soap. (The insider is their houseboy or something. The insider managed to land a role in the soap too!). So I asked my brother if it was possible to take some pictures of the set so I could share it with you all. And He very kindly did go through all the trouble of sneaking in when no one was around :P and shot all these nice photos :D

A cast member!

The mosalsal is called Al Lahoub, The set is all wood, about an inch thick. There was an old cafe built for some scenes, but unfortunately it was brought down before He had a chance to take some pictures. (err I forgot the actors’ names. I’m gonna update this post once I remember or my brother sms me the names!)

Thank you Tareq for the great pictures and the effort.
