I was there today in the parking lot when a perfectly healthy woman, along with her 2 healthy little daughters, parked her car in the handicapped parking area. They strolled past me and walked into the mall like there was nothing wrong with what she just did.

What a great role model.

I don’t go to the movies much, especially as of late.. but my friend just brought this slight increase in prices to my attention. Are they doing it again? I thought the KD2.5 was a good price, then they went and made it KD3, and now KD3.5. Cinema companies should be trying to pull the people back into theaters, with the all the ongoing piracy, not push them away with price increases every now and then.

Thanks Bader

The Guys over at Ekelni.com asked us to take a look at their website, review it and post about it. So we were given access to Ekelni, snuck inside and took a peak.. We pretty much liked everything we saw. Ofcourse the site is still being worked on, but it’s kinda almost ready..

So what this Ekelni is all about?

Ekelni.com is a new online food-ordering service that is about to be launched in Kuwait by a group of young Kuwaitis. Ekelni would be the second service of it’s kind in Kuwait, and hopefully could push up the bar for a better experience. The site looks great and the navigation is pretty simple.. You know what, let me put the things I liked in a list..

I liked:

  • The pages were laid out very nicely and was easy to navigate from one page to another. No clutter.
  • Almost every dish has a picture next to it. You’d appreciate this feature if you ever had to go by a dish’s name at an asian restaurant.
  • Works perfectly on my favorite browser, Safari!
  • An iPhone application to go along with it.
  • The site will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Cash, K Net, Visa & MaserCards are accepted.

I think its very promising. I enjoyed the little tour around the site and I think you all will once it is launched.

SneakPeak at their iPhone app here

Now what the hell is this? I’ve seen spaces reserved for the handicapped and I’ve also seen spaces for pregnant women, but excuse me.. I don’t get the sign!

I mean if you’re a healthy woman, not disabled and not pregnant, why on earth would you be entitled to a free reserved parking? Unless the people behind this consider being a woman is some sort of a disability in itself?

Thanks Fawaz

Whats wrong with this picture? It was captured on saturday in Failaka.

Well. It’s a car pulling 4 buggies back into the ferry boat in order to get back to the City after a nice a weekend on the island.

Except that it’s a Military car. Being used by a guy when he is Off Duty. Pulling 4 buggies that were on the island to be rented throughout the weekend.

How could a Military person misuse a MILITARY car for such personal gains in broad daylight!?

Zain took the initiative to put together 3 of Kuwait’s most adored Dewaniya games and put them into a single box they’re calling The Dewaniya Box.

The box is made out of solid cardboard material, and is likely to endure the Dewaniya usage. The 3 games are:

  • 2 decks of cards
  • Dominos.
  • Checkers (Dama in Kuwaiti).
  • Kot bo sita score pad and a Pen.

Zain, with the help of Kuwait’s Dewan Directory, have gathered a huge list of Kuwaiti Dewaniyas and is about to disrepute the first shipment of 3000 Boxes to the Dewaniyas and are in process of producing more to cover the rest of Kuwait’s Dewaniyas.

My brother Hamad told me about the KDD ice cream machine, and he kept raving about how good it’s ice-cream is, how smooth the vanilla and how sweet the chocolate is. I didn’t give it much thought till the he brought it up for, like, the 17th time. I decided that I need to try it out and that I would probably need my camera to report it back in here. I’m happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed, at all.

The shop is a KDD shop, never knew such shops existed. Heard about the one in shuwaikh but somehow it did not register, I mean a KDD shop? Why?

I went in and there were a couple of guys in there paying for their cons and were about to leave. I knew I had to take pictures, and I wanted the shop all to myself, I had many questions for the seller too, so I waited. As soon as those guys exited Read the rest of this entry »

Have anyone tried this place? I did, twice, I liked the bread, pickles, sauce, cheese, veggies. But the meat needs serious improvement!

So far I tried the original (turkey) and the angus roast beef, everything in the sandwich was good except the meat itself. I feel like this place has a great sandwich waiting to be discovered! if you tried a real good one at this place, let us know.

Will be tomorrow, It seems they are dropping one after the other, it’ll be interesting to see which one would last.

Ok I knew blogs had impact on people, and I knew our blog had a big audience, but when I was writing my post, and leaking the news to you guys about zain’s new MicroSim Cards, I didn’t expect to cause 2 big companies like Wataniya and VIVA to panic!

Our friends over at Buzberry and Frankom just posted Viva’s MicroSims and Wataniya’s press release, respectively. Coincidently just 2 days after the Zain news leak.

I’m so enjoying watching companies trip over each other over a post :P

We’ve got some juicy piece of exclusivity for you guys! A reliable insider just told me the new MicroSim cards are going to be available at Zain on the 28th of April, thats this wednesday! It’ll be tested and then made available just in time for the new iPad 3G release date, on the first week of May.

We’re putting an end to all speculations! The MicroSims will be here and ready to be used with your new iPads and whatever new technology, on the first week of May!

I’ll try and get the real little MicroSims pictures for you soon.

Update:

We were just contacted by Zain, and were told that the MicroSims batch they’re receiving on the 28th isn’t the first, but actually they’ve already got MicroSims in the warehouse. They also wanted to further stress that they are the first telecom company to get the MicroSim Cards in Kuwait.

My favorite part of the email was, their promise to provide me with a MicroSim soon, and let me be the first to share the pictures with you guys.
