I have been encountering some idiots on the roads lately, well we all have, but there is a new kind of idiots. Let me explain!
You know when you’re in a hurry and driving on the left lane and you’ve got a car in front of you that just won’t move to the right? Well, I don’t like to flash the cars in front of me so I get close, then too close. As a last resort I turn up the headlights once or twice so they could wake up and move to the right. Anyway, nowadays there is a new kind of angry drivers on the scene so beware! They won’t move to the right until they see a road camera coming up, and that’s when they speed up a bit, making you do the same, then they move to the right and hit their breaks so you end up getting caught by the camera!
It happened to me more than once now, and thankfully I was always aware that there was a camera ahead. But still, what kind of a sick person would do such a thing!? And why are they so offended by the thought of giving way that they had to have some sort of a revenge?!

We were in Spain the summer of 1990, we had a nice beginning for a very promising summer vacation. Then we headed to nice, we stayed at my uncle’s place, and that was when we got the news that Iraq have invaded Kuwait.

Phew! I just entered the house after a very busy trip to Bahrain. It feels like I’ve been running since thursday afternoon.
This trip was in the works for a long time, 2 weeks to be specific, but then at the beginning of last week it was kind of scrapped due to not being serious enough to book hotel room nor deciding on whether to go by car or plane. But then on wednesday, at 9:15pm, my friend decided to bring this trip up and insist on it. We looked at the time, 9:20pm, and decided there was still time to catch the quick service, to check up the car and prepare it for tomorrow’s trip. I changed the tires, the breaks, the front discs, the battery, among other stuff.. a’3la min bai3 ilsoog, I know. Everything was in a hurry, even the hotel was reserved on our way to Bahrain.
I don’t know why the way back to Kuwait feels much shorter than the way to Bahrain.. On our way there we were really bored and even felt like we might have lost our way coz it was so damn boring waiting to get there! It felt like downloading 500MB using a dialup! yeah thats exactly how it felt..
But hey, nevertheless, we had so much fun over there and I took many pictures to share with you guys. I’ll share them all once I get some rest.. I’m exhausted at the moment.

I found this article while I was not so busy at work today and I thought it got a lot of insight into the parents thinking and how they regard their children in terms of who’s their favorite..
I’ve always wondered if it is possible to love all your children the same amount, or care for them just the same, but it never occurred to me that the amount of love is not what should be in question, but the closeness, the preferences and the way parents view their children in terms of “who has the special and unbudge-able place in my heart” kind of status.
Personally, and from the incessant questions my mother endured about this subject, I think she cares the same for her 4 sons, (I may have an edge over my brothers, but thats not fair to them, so taking me out of the competition, I think she loves the other 3 just the same).
But still it’s very intriguing! coz aside from this guy’s opinion, no parent gives you their honest opinion, except if you’re not close enough to their families (minimizing the chance of you spilling the beans to their relatives).
That was the case today when I asked my colleague about her favorite child.. She began by saying something along the lines of “I love them all the same, I’m crazy about the second child, and the 3rd one is just too adorable… bla bla bla..” but when I pressed on, she admitted that she preferred her first born more, and that she is more careful when dealing with her, coz it’s always an experiment with the first one, and that she can never refuse her first child anything. She also brought an interesting point to the table.. The grandparents! She said, my colleague, that the grandparents turn this first born child’s image into something extraordinary, being their first grandson, the amount of love showered upon this little person is overwhelming, so you can’t help but try and compete with your parents over who loves the child more, leaving the 2nd 3rd and 4th born children behind.
I think all parents have the same amount of love for their children, but I also think that the parents have their preferences and each has a favorite.
Read the article, it’s interesting, honest and funny (it is not the least bit funny if you were this guy’s 2nd born child).

Just recieved my new mesbaah from the mesabeeh guy, Sayem, ”elkharaaa6.” The rock itself was brought in from Ukraine, it weighs around 100 grams, and after approximately 10-15 years it will turn totally to orange.
By the way tara the karkoshaa (the upper end) is the new karkosha, and it’s called “Tamleka,” the other old karkoshas are now considered outdated, especially when you’re creating a new mesbah, I mean custome made mesabeeh are now almost always done the new way.

What’s up with the highways today?! I’m still stuck between the 6th and 5th ring roads!
I thought traffic would go down by now, since the finals are nearing.. I’m so gonna be late for work today..
Update:
I finally managed to arrive at work, late by 2 hours. I heard in the radio that the cause of the traffic jam at King faisal’s highway (highway 50) was caused by a bursted water tank in Qurtoba. The nice people were slowing down whenever they see signs of leakage so they could get a closer look at the mess.

I went in and in less than 10 minutes I was done and on my way to my car. Going in the afternoon time is much better than in the early morning (I went early the last time and it was crowded).
I’m glad that I’m done with the voting. I hope more people turn up..

Happy weekend (defanaa leghbaaar)

The parking was full and the place is crowded. I saw this empty parking spot and drove the car over just to discover that a very low form of life has taken up 2 spaces instead of 1. I don’t get how this type of people think! I mean how selfish they could get?! People like this guy disgust me.
I’m not the kind of guys who’d feel good damaging other people’s stuff, but today I KNOW I would’ve felt much better had I scratched both sides of the car with the tip of my key..
I filed a complaint instead (boring) and asked the management to take some action, they promised they will. Inshallah they will.

I just ordered paperbax. It’s a book holder, it keeps the book open and saves you the trouble of trying to keep the book open while reading. I’ll try it out as soon as I get it and then tell you what I think.

I received my custom made mesbah today, and although it is longer than what I had in mind, I’m enjoying it. This mesbah isn’t done the traditional way, the cut and design is different this time around, it is done the turkish way, and the guy doing it is called Sayem (He’s famous amongst the mesabeeh crowd). As you can see from the above picture (and below) the Mesbah has no traditional karkosha on the top bead and was replaced with a karkosha made of the same material used for the beads themselves.
The interesting part is that this Mesbah is new to the scene (although a habbah) because the mesabeeh are usually made of Amber, Misteka or Fatoraan (translation needed), but this one is made of something else. I’m gonna let you think what it made of and see if any of you could get it right. I’m going to update you guys with the missing piece of information soon.
UPDATE #1: Still no one figure it out

I’ve been hearing about this spa for a long time from friends, and as I was telling my friends this weekend that I needed a massage and that I probably will go to The Day Spa, which is my favorite massage place in all O the land, my friend Ban1 told me, for the 10th time, that I should consider going to the one in crown plaza hotel. He said that it is the best place in Kuwait. So, as a massage fan and more importantly as a blogger looking for good material for you readers, I went to Aquatonic Spa and took my camera with me.

Chicken Nugget is a term used to describe the westernized Kuwaitis (dark from the outside, white from the inside) you know the kind, you’ve heard them talk around you with that perfect accent, you hated them for it, and you wished you could speak like them.. but lets face it ya3ny.. we, as in we who studied in public schools and started learning english at 13 and used to sing Old Mcdonalds in english classes at the age of 14 and 13 (the shame!) won’t ever be able to speak like them.. no matter how we tried to loose the Rs and no matter how hard we tried to go easy on the Ts & Ps.. It just won’t work.
My cousin, who is partially nuggety was daring me to pronounce “water” the way americans do, and believe it or not, I failed. I tried to sound like him but unfortunately I sounded neither american nor Kuwaiti, it kinda evolved miraculously into an indian accent, every single time I tried.
I don’t wanna digress.. I’m trying to take a jab and accuse the Nuggets of something here. I think the Nuggets like the term Chicken Nugget. I also think that the term was used and made popular in Kuwait by none other than them.. I mean how can “we” the 7abarbash of public schools with our miserable english come up with such a term! Seriously have you heard us say the word NUGGET?
To all the chicken nuggets out there… WE’RE ON TO YOU!
This post was inspired by THIS POST.

So yeah the inevitable have happened. The blackberry slipped, fell and hit the ground. You know there is always this sinking feeling when you drop something shiny and new, and then there is the few moments between the sound of your mobile crashing, and you picking it up with one eye closed dreading the sight you’re about to see.. I hate those moments.
I always take good care of the things I own, be it a mobile, a laptop, a camera or whatever (I’m not like Mishary, I don’t change my mobile every 3 days! I’m loyal to my mobiles and I use them till death do us part ) But then if something bad happens to one of my things, I just can’t continue caring for it as much anymore. Once a mobile is scratched, I stop treating it with care. And now in this case.. my mobile isn’t just scratched, as you can see, it got a tear on it!
9ar mobile moqawil.. fa if you guys know a place that sells BOLD covers in Kuwait, I’d be thankful. I gotta cover this ugly torn thing.

I started 5 books but finished none of them. There is no time for reading. When there is time for reading then there is time for sleeping! which to me is always a priority over reading..
The 5 books I’v started are:
