The MPS held a convention/celebration to acknowledge Hamas’ perseverance.

Literal translation:
Woman: This is Kuwait’s Ghetra. You MPS sold Kuwait. You’re all hypocrites. This is the Kuwaiti’s Ghetra.

Implication (in my opinion):
People at the convention were wearing the palestinians’ Ghetras or Keffiyeh, as a sign of support for Hamas and palestine. The woman felt offended and was opposing the whole thing, in a very unsubtle way.

I’m hoping there is a full video somewhere of this incident so we can get a better idea.

I’ve received this via email from my friend, and apparently I wasn’t fast enough to post it since atleast 2 blogs did so far. But anyway better late than never. For those of you who cannot read arabic I’ll make an attempt to give you the gist of the letter:

In a nutshell this is a letter sent by the Emir of Riyadh, Salman Bin Abdulaziz, to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, stating that the way the Emir Sultan was behaving was inappropriate and that calling the TV station and reprimanding the TV hosts in public and on live tv was not in line with the kind of tone the Saudis have come to expect from such public figures.

The Emir of Reyadh also mentioned that Emir Sultan was overstepping his authority when he called Abu Athnain, who is from a well-known family, an ill raised. And then finally He asked the King to try to stop this kind of behavior, pointing out that this wasn’t Emir Sultan’s first time, but that He had done similar things in the past, and some were in public too.

So AlArabiya published a statement by saudi officials denying the whole content of this letter above and they said it’s all fake and fabricated. Personally, I don’t think it’s fake coz I think If I ever did something similar and sent this letter and it reached the public, I’d deny it too.

And today, according to Alqabas, Abu Athnain, one of the newsmen, filed a lawsuit against Emir Sultan bin Fahad. Abu Athnain’s family considered the matter deeply insulting and contacted a few lawyers whom were willing to take on the case.

This should be interesting to follow…

Its re-opened again. “its phase 1 starting zara moving towards loranzino … esprit upstairs looks really bad. but they were working hard cleaning the place. at around 4 zara was open and the workers were cleaning the roofs of avenues . am sure by next weekend no one will notice the incident.”

Zain has donated KD30,000 to support our national team and is now renting a whole plane to send the fans to support our Kuwaiti national football team over in Oman. The plane expenses will be paid in full by Zain. The flight’s details will be revealed soon.

We were just done taking pictures for this post when we saw this KDD vending machine right outside the scientific center. Has it been done before by KDD? coz I think it’s a cool idea and should’ve been done a long time ago.

Since I don’t know much about football, I asked my cousin for his opinion and here is what Fawaz thought:

“I think that the game was played today by our team without a real target of winning in mind, because this game had different circumstances surrounding it; the opening game of the cup, the ban being just lifted and the fact that it took place in Oman and that the Omani team is considered a serious contender to win the whole cup. All of this led the Kuwaiti team, again in my opinion, to want to come out with a nil-nil outcome. This is based on their performance on the first half, However, The way they played, especially on the second half of the game gave them (and us) great hope and confidence to play better the next time around and for the other teams to reevaluate our national team.

The substitutions that happened in the second half by Mohammed Ibrahim went accordingly with his strategy and plans; to sustain the team’s performance to wrap up the game and still end up in a good shape.

Now, when it comes to who played the best and who lost many opportunities, then it is Bader alMutawwa and Ahmad ajab, respectively. And the man of the match, in my opinion, is Nawwaf Alkhaldy, our goal keeper, who defended his goal and held his own in spite of the many shots that came toward him.”

“in any other game the performance of Oman’s Ali Alhabsi would be ample to earn him the game’s man of the match, But surely was out shone by the impressive display shown by Kuwait’s number one stopper, Alkhaldy, who put on a sensational string of saves that are truly worthy of man of the match accolade. I received an email forward from my aunt yesterday, it was written in arabic and it went something like this:

Tommy Helfiger, the famous designer, is racist and he hates Arabs, Jews, Hispanics..etc, and that he wishes none of the aforementioned races would buy his clothes, And then the email went on to say that Tommy was hosted on the Oprah show and she asked him whether the rumor was true or not and He blatantly answered “Yes” as in the rumor is true, and then Oprah asked him to leave her show.

Naturally, after reading it I went to Youtube to see this victorious moment. And guess what? It turned out to be just a BIG Fat Lie. just another rumor that’s been circulating for years. Oprah had him on the show over a year ago and they talked about the rumor and set the record straight. I know a lot of people would fall for it coz I did for a moment there, so check the video yourself and stop this email from spreading. Watch the video HERE.
