As you can see above this is a sample from the M&Ms with the word “Mabrook” and the date, it’s such a cool gift and so unusual, I think soon we will be seeing it here in Kuwait in “Gerge3an” .

We started a bit late. My cousin was going to meet our friends (they’re here in Dubai for the weekend) they were going to the shooting range. the last time we went there we had so much fun, but I didn’t feel like going this time. I’m not sure why… so me and loco went to city center, just to waste sometime until its time to have dinner with all the rest. BUT before that, we knew we could not wait without something in our stomachs :D so we had a little TASBEERA from Arby’s.

I found Mario Galaxy for Nintendo Wii in Virgin megastore. I was so tempted to buy it, but I don’t have my Wii with me.. I left it in Kuwait..

And then after some surfing around the shops there, we went to Gap, it was fully stocked! better than Kuwait’s branch! aside from the Mens and Women sections it had kids section, baby’s section and infant’s section (not sure whats the difference between baby and infant). I liked it there, I found many things I could use this winter. but since its still autumn/summer in here, I decided not to buy anything.

We finally met with our friends, we were 9 in total and went to The Market Cafe. its a buffet restaurant located in Grand Hyatt hotel in dubai. we go there often, we especially like it when its friday, they have the friday special.. (all you can eat and drink for 120 Dhs LOL!). its a very very good place with VERY good food.

The Salad section. there was a giant wooden bowl where they put the lettuce and whatever else you want in and add the sauces and what not so they can finally mix it and give it to you.

there are different sections for each type of food. there is the pasta section, indian section, Salads, Pizza, Grills, Arabic AND the dessert section. oh and I forgot the drinks section, they have plenty of drinks there, and they make it infront of you and you pick it up yourself.

you can choose what kind of sauce and meats you want and they’ll cook it for you.

The Dessert section. their cheese cake was one of the best (not yesterday’s)

Every dish in there is made specially for YOU. the steak is grilled to your taste so is everything else.

We had a great time. :)

axis-soldout.jpg

We never stood a chance! they were not available online, the tickets that is, and the next day they were sold out! high demand? or lots of people with influence are attending? not quiet sure yet.

But thanks to MSB, we now have learned that they’re extending the shows for 2 more days. hopefully we’ll get to buy our tickets this time!

wheel-1.jpg

I pass by Qanat Al Qasba almost every day on my way to college. I think it was opened to the public in 2005, because I don’t remember seeing the big ferris wheel when I first came here (in late 2004). I’ve always wanted to take a look inside, something about the lighting and the way it looks from the outside made me curious to know what it’s like from the inside. I heard it was built as an oriental souk (but discovered later that it looks more like old oriental/european buildings). There is a little water canal splitting it in the middle. yeah and there were lots of cafes and restaurants on the sides of the canal.

I liked the place in general and especially liked the ferris wheel, it looked huge! it is said to be the biggest in the region. The place was calm with a very unusual atmosphere, it was quiet unlike anywhere else in Sharjah, And the people were mostly families.

qaq-nandos.jpg

My visit today wasn’t just for the sake of exploring something new. I was there so I can pick up my dinner from Nandos. :D

Nandos is a south african restaurant that specializes in… chicken. they’re famous for their spices and their extra hot recipes. The first time I got to eat at Nandos was around 2 years ago in Dubai and I hated it then. the second time was in Dubai too (same branch) and I didn’t like it much then either. But I’ve decided to give it another shot since everybody seems to praise it and have only good things to say about its food.

Unfortunately I hated it this time too :D But don’t take my word for it, you can try it out too, it opened it’s first branch in Kuwait, in the Avenues mall.

Sorry for the subpar pictures, I took many pictures but they were all ruined by the humidity!

Yesterday i’ve been to Souq Almubarkiya with my family, and we had dinner at “Dalaq S’hail” resturant which was REALLY delicious the weather was great and the atmosphere was new to me .. You can see there all kinds of people, from the “Hailaaaq” all the way to “Jakh” people. The weirdest thing is that i saw there a teacher, she was marking students exams while she was smoking “shisha” and eating “tikka” BTW she was wearing “hejaab” So i think u can imagine it now :) but over all the resturant was so good and even the service.

After that we went walking to a place called “bo 100 fils” as u can see above every thing in this souq cost 100 fils “ya balash walla !”

Finally, i went to search for shops that sells “mesabee7″ and i found a couple of shops that sells them.

At the end my thanks goes to Ahmad who took these pics, you can visit his site to see more of his shooting.
