- Haloom Cheese.
- Beef fajitas.
- Chicken fajitas.
- Falafel.
- Spanish.
- Mortadella.
- NUTELLA “I’m in love with it!”.
Each of the above can be wrapped with saj bread, You can imagine the taste! (Walla wana ga3ed akteb now ye3t again!

Anise, A newly opened Restaurant in Dubai’s Intercontinental Hotel in Festival City.
Me and loco went to this beautifully designed restaurant a few days ago. its a multinational buffet kind of restaurant where there are multiple live stations cooking food live & per request. Unfortunately I couldn’t take pictures of the main dish(s) coz we were too hungry to be bothered. I’m gonna let the pictures do the talking now

5 Out Of 5
A Must.

Today i went with Abdullah and Ali for dinner and then i decided to buy a coconut! (don’t ask!). I like to eat fresh coconut. So my friends suggested to go to souq sharq coz we were near by.
Before heading to the vegetable market we decided to take a look at the fish market, look around & get some pics.

It was around 10:00 pm and the market was so crowded with people!

After we were done going through every fish, we went to the vegetable market and started searching for MY COCONUT

Me and Ali searched every shop! The weird thing was whenever we asked anyone about them, the answer was like “Are you kidding? Men sejkom intaw yayeen edawroon ehny coconut??”

Finally some one heard us and told us its available in Sultan Center.
This is not bread its Baqsam!

Finally we found our lovely coconut @ Sultan Center! and they r selling it for 350 Fils/Piece.
Thanks Abdullah and Ali for joining me in my search for the coconut!

Mishary Posted the other day about DHL’s @ Home Service. So, I went yesterday and signed up in DHL’s new service. They’re open from 9am till 6pm. I went around 2 o’clock and was greeted by the one and only, Ms Sarita (early members of Aramex’s shop and ship will know her very well). She was as friendly and as efficient as ever. She recognized me and said “you gained weight haven’t you?” at first I thought she was talking about herself so I replied “No! you look better than ever!” later I realized the comments was directed at me! err…
Ok, so She started by saying “I don’t want to over sell the service we have here, coz its really knew and we’re still working on lot of things.”
Pros:
1)You have Sarita working there.
2)Just like aramex it costs 2.5kd for the first 1/2 kilo and then 2kd for each additional 1/2 kilos.
3)The Mailbox is located in Illinois, so you can save lots on tax money (macbook pro’s tax is $240 if delivered to Aramex’s newyork address. and only $140 when delivered to illinois).
4)4 days delivery from the US to your address in Kuwait.
5)I like that its DHL. they’ve got to be worried about their reputation, so the chances of them screwing up are much less than the other services.
6)You have an optional 2% insurance. it covers the whole amount. so If you ever receive a damaged package, you can get your full money back. no matter how large the amount is.
Cons:
1)Its still a pretty new service, so there are lots of missing options (like tracking ur package) but She, Sarita, told me I can call her whenever I want to know the status of the shipment. and she’ll call whenever it arrives.
2)They charge on either, the package’s weight or its volume whichever is the highest. (a guy ordered light plane model and is being charged a big sum of money because of the size of the package).
I just love dealing with Sarita. thats why I think this new service is going to Rock!
PS. there is a one time 10kd fee when you sign up.

I came across this google translation tool by accident. Now You can translate roughly any site from English to Arabic with just one simple click! Although the translations are often inaccurate, I think it may come in handy one day.

As You can see from the picture above, All You have to do is go to this LINK, drag and drop the link marked above to your browser’s toolbar and you’re done! Once it is set in your toolbar, Go to any of your favorite english sites and click on “English to Arabic,” and watch the site get translated within seconds.

Humm… What can i say about this restaurant? Ok lets begin, i’ve been in love with this restaurant for almost 7 years, Usually i go to this restaurants with my friends Ali & Abdullah “because they introduced me to this 7 years ago” its a tiny place with only 4 plastic tables and each table will hold 2-3 as maximum chairs.

The appetizers are the following:
- Iranian Bread.
- Lemon, cucumber, fresh onion and tomato.
- Homos “they only serve homos” no for motabal.

As for the grilles they serve:
- Tekka.
- Kabab.
- Hearts ” Yes now i can eat them! thanx for my brothers in law specially 9K2HN”.
- Sheesh tawooq.
Finally, its easily takes 5/5 because of very very very quick service moreover for their low prices .. takhayelaw each “seekh” will cost you 100 fils o 3alaik le7sab
My thanks goes this time for both of you Ali & Abdullah
UPDATE:

Today i was talking to Ahmad and he mentioned a SUPER COOL information about Firefox Add-ons, this plug in turns all the prices in the site into any currency you want! No more calculators and NO more multiplying by 0.27xxx.

As you can see above it will be displayed next to the $ price between brackets. The script comes pre-configured with Amazon.com but you can add all your favorite sites Like Ebay.com, Target.com …ect.

For the MAC users, dont worry it will runs on our OSX
If your wishing to install it, first you need to install Greasemonkey Add-on, then you need to install Amazon Local Currency script. For those who worry about updating the currency exchange rates, Worry no more! The script will auto update your currency from Yahoo Finance
P.S. this software will give you the feeling that Amazon or ebay is a Kuwaiti site!
Thanks Ahmad for letting us know!

I was introduced to The Noodle House and the chinese food in general about 3 and half years ago. My friends and roommates were regulars in this restaurant for ages before i came along. I love this restaurant and rate every other chinese restaurant based on how the food tastes in comparison. I know its not a good way to rate other restaurants, coz simply, they don’t stand a chance.

The restaurant is owned by Jumeirah International (which is owned by Dubai’s government), This alone gives it an edge an make it so far ahead of all of the other restaurants in Dubai. With a reputation like Jumeriah’s you’re gonna know it’ll be in every special and unique place, with the best decor and interior designs along with the best service in town.
The food quality is, as you may already sensed, is the best i’ve tried so far. The presentation is simple and elegant. They don’t have as many dishes as Peacock in Kuwait, but thats an advantage in my opinion, coz peacock’s menu never cease to confuse me. They have so many dishes which makes me not know exactly what i would like to order. I mean look at their chicken dishes, they have tons! IMO, If a restaurant doesn’t have standout dishes, they’re gonna offer whatever they can to compensate (but thats only my opinion peacock’s fans )

Dishes I like in The Noodle House:
Starters:
-Vegetable Spring rolls.
-Sesame prawns on toast.
-Prawn Bags
Main Dishes:
-Bakmi Goreng Noodles with shrimp & chicken (i always ask them to take out the shrimps)
-Chicken Sweet & Sour (unlike any other S&S dish i’ve tried)
-Thai Chicken with cashew nuts
-Roasted Duck (my favorite dish in this whole wide woyyd )
-Nonya Chicken Curry (they promised to bring it back to their menu soon)
They also have plenty of drinks and cocktails, but I never try them, I only order diet coke when I’m there. Yeah and its interesting to note that they offer both Pepsi’s products and Coke’s!
Easily 5 out of 5.

When i bought my Nespresso machine few weeks ago i was wondering whats the best milk that will give me the richest foam/froth when stirring it with the Aeroccino. i tried almost all the milk brands and came up with these results:

Nadec: This Milk gives the best results! Mashalah when i make my coffee with this one the froth reaches the top of the mug! Sij sij raghwaaaa mo 6abe3eyaaaa o what i like in this milk that it ALWAYS give lots and lots of froth.

KDCOW: This milk wins the second place, it gives high level of froth but, sadly, not always! esara7a madrey laish, some times its perfect and some times not. But I buy it whenever i can’t find Nadec in the Co-op.

KDD: Simply dont even think of buying it! it sucks when it comes to frothing. sometimes it makes me doubt my Aeroccino, I start thinking that there is something wrong with the machine! strongly not recommending it.

I was looking around for hotel rooms in Dubai in the range of $300 a night. and it seemed as though I’ve asked for something out of the ordinary! Even when I called the travel agency the guy almost didn’t take me seriously. I checked expedia for hotels’ rates and got shocked! Rooms are going for $500 and $850 a night?! regular rooms not suites! This means If I stayed for the 5 days, I would’ve spent 2 Macbooks worth of money!
I lived in this country for so long and asked for rates so many times for friends and relatives, but never really thought about the prices. Prices are very real when I’m the one on the spending end! lol
Anyway, finally the travel agency found me this nice new hotel. Copthorne Hotel, Located near Deira City Center, over looking Dubai’s Creek. the hotel is part of Millennium Hotels group.
This is My room (Booked a junior suite coz all the rooms were gone)

This is the sitting area (not allowed to sit in the bedroom.. gotta follow the rules)

The pool area

Overall, and up to now, For 80Kd per night, I think it was an excellent choice and (Father’s) money well spent. The staff are friendly and attentive. Spacious rooms. Big Plasma screens and free high-speed internet.
I give them 4/5. I would’ve given them a better rating if it wasn’t for the Hotel’s ugly exterior and lobby.

Yesterday me & my wife decided to go to Al-Koot Mall, Actually we prefer it because we find it less crowded than the other Malls. After we finished shopping i got a phone call from Abdullah telling me to try MUGG & BEAN Restaurant. He said that this restaurant specialized in sizing! every thing is SUPER SIZED, even if ur ordering a Hot Chocolate or Cappuccino there is a free refill! So, Naturally, We hopped on the idea and decided to give it a try.
As you can see above there are few tables inside the restaurant (its a little bit tiny inside) so we decided to sit outside. We ordered the Chicken Ceaser Salad and for the main course mix grills, The Salad was HUGE! HUGE! and very rich in chicken and bacon and ceaser sauce. Actually, its just a mix of chicken and bacon! (sij estaghrabt laish emsamenhaaa sala6a aslaan!!) But it was delicious esara7a I liked it. We really liked the starters, but the main course not so much, nothing special at all.
Its located on Sultan Center’s side, the opposite side of Paul Cafe.
I give it 3.5/5

Today Me & my family decided to have our lunch at Sarai restaurant. It’s a combination of Syrian, Armenian and Turkish food. The word Sarai is from turkish origins and means The Castle (According the waiter).

I didn’t expect the restaurant to be this busy (Thank God i made the reservation yesterday!) The place was almost full, I would’ve taken more pictures of the restaurant if it wasn’t so crowded!

The appetizers were delicious esara7a, I loved and enjoyed them, Even though i was surprised to find out that they don’t serve some of the famous mazzat (appetizers) like fried chicken wings with garlic and and grilled Hallom cheese. The starters were the hightlights, but when you reach the maincourses stage, I’m sorry to say that there is nothing special about them.

Over all the restaurant’s atmosphere is suitable for families, Just make sure to reserve before going.
In my opinion it deserves 4/5 due to the place being small and their main courses being bland.

Here is an amazing search engine for those of you who don’t have arabic keyboards, yet you find yourself once every blue moon looking for other computers with arabic keyboards just to type a word or two.
whats amazing with this site, is that you don’t have to struggle with the spelling, you can type using ur regular Arabish letters (mIRC letters, like the 3 for 3aba3aal and 7 for 7mar) and it will recognize the letters and turns them into arabic letters.

Here is the LINK go ahead and give it a try.

There is a new Knafa place in town and its called “Albal Knafa.” the first time i heard about it was when we had a family gathering and they hired the knafa guy to set up a knafa section and prepared it right infront of us. it was obviously very fresh when we started inhaling it. it tasted great, better than most knafas out there (its up there with 6aibawy’s).

My brother yesterday brought us some, I it wasn’t as good as it was that day when they had the guy fixing it up. Best way to eat it is to have the knafa guy come to your house or wherever ur having ur dinner party.. u won’t regret it!
I think the guy comes to ur place if you order a minimum of 5 kilos knafa which costs around 25 kd.
Their phone numbers: 2636703/4

Ingredients:
-Boneless chicken thighs.
-A cup of coconut milk.
-kurkum (Turmeric)
-onion.
-ginger.
-tomatoes for garnish.
-parsley for garnish.
-green curry powder (1 tea spoon)

boil the chicken thighs until tender, cut em to cubes and keep aside. whip out ur deep frying pan and start by frying the onions (thin long slices) in little oil on low fire. u don’t want to turn them yellow, u should keep them white, so add little water every minute. fry in the mashed ginger, add the chickens, add the korkom (1 tea spoon) and the… i forgot its name.. yeah the curry powder. mix in the coconut milk, season with salt and pepper, raise the fire and stir for 5 minutes then reduce the fire and keep it there to simmer for 10-15 minutes. and just before u serve the dish, mix in the tomatoes and sprinkle some parsley.

There are 2 kinds of heinz ketchup out there. one is manufactured in egypt and the other in the US. their taste is different. so heads up! you can tell by looking at their labels. if you see any arabic translation then its the cheap err.. i mean, its the one from egypt.
If you already know about this and don’t think there is a difference in taste, well, then might as well cut ur costs.. coz there are always the award winning ketchups like this one here:

it was recommended by My dear friend INTER. he said their sandwiches would remind me of the late hungry bunny chain. and it kinda did!

i ordered 2 sandwiches and a fries. the super bunny sandwich (whopper look alike) and the roast beef sandwich. let me start by saying that i do not consider this restaurant a real restaurant, not a real fast food joint, nope, i think of it more like albatriq and sahran kinda of restaurants. mcdonald’s would be gourmet food next to these . anyway, their super bunny was nice, it was a cross over between the whopper and the big deluxe. i liked it and it did remind of of the real super bunny.

now the roast beef sandwich was reaal nice! i was surprised! they use real roast beef! i don’t know how to explain it.. i liked the quality of their roast beef (although a bit chewy) but nevertheless, it was good and the meat was kind of thick and full of flavor (the tomato and lettuce had to go though). my only criticism and the only thing that bothered me was the quality of their mayonnaise. it had an eggy taste.. yukh.
Overall its a nice little place for when you crave junk food yet u’re sick from the usual places. I personally would definitely go back for their roast beef. and when i’m a bit nostalgic, i’d go for their super bunny oh and i loved their buns! so fresh!
Its located in hawalli, facing the 4th ring road, just opposite the Royale Hayat hospital.
