I just came back from a one week vacation in Paris and I miss it already.
I spent the first day of Eid in Kuwait with my family and flew to Paris at night. We arrived in the morning and we didn’t spare a minute and went straight to La Duree for breakfast, after dropping our luggages at the hotel Read the rest of this entry »
When we first decided to go to Singapore I’ve tried to do some Google search on the restaurant there, and wrote a list of restaurant to choose from, one of them was Lawry’s. Let me first talk about it’s theme, well it reminded me a lot of Entrocote but not the food, it doesn’t have a set menu or any thing but I mean the decor and the waitresses who dressed like a french maids.
As I mentioned before this was my third visit to Singapore, and also my third stay in Marriott hotel which I think the main point of choosing this hotel for three times in a row for it’s location, you can’t imagine how close this hotel to the malls or how this hotel is located in between the malls which makes it unbelievable, I used to book the standard room for about KD80 per night including breakfast, but this time one of my friends recommended the Pool Terrace room which costs me KD118. For more details of the pool terrace room click below.
Ohh Singapore..where can I start, this country is growing in a fast forward motion! it was my third time there, and each time there are new things to visit. This country will suit many people, people who like electronics and others who have kids and like adventures they can visit Santosa Island or go in a night safari and last but not least shopoholics they will Love Singapore espacially Orchard rd, this is the main street in Singapore where u can find the most famous brands Dior, Fendi, Prada, Valentino, Hermes , Cartier… you name it!
Nas is a new airlines company based in Saudi Arabia. I was onboard one of it’s flights not so long ago, and I was left with a real bad first impression. The plane made all sort of sounds throughout the flight, and the flight attendants had attitude problems. They were completely unprofessional.
I won’t use them for my future travels. If they don’t care to leave a good first impression considering they’re very new to the market, I won’t care to give them a second chance. Jazeera airways is much better anyway, even AlArabiya would be a better choice.
My friend bo9ale7 who is the marketing guy at Bubbles diving center called me one day and said they’re arranging for a diving trip to Jeddah, in a place called Al laith to be specific, and wanted to know if I’m in. I was very hesitant to go to Jeddah for 2 reasons, one being the place itself, Jeddah, Why on earth would any one want to go to Jeddah? I know Jeddah ‘3air, but still. Two, If I wanted to dive in places other than Kuwait, I’d go to Sharm Alshaikh! an obvious diving destination. Yeah so I was hesitant. I didn’t give him my answer till I learned that 3 of our mutual friends are going Read the rest of this entry »
I’m back! I spent my little vacation at the red sea and I’m very annoyed that it ended! I spent the last few days at a place called Al leith, I don’t know how to spell it, but it’s 2 to 3 hours south of Jeddah by car, and we spent the whole 5 days on a yacht, very far away from land. With no mobile service and no internet. Yep. Secluded, no ringing, no buzzing and no nothing. just us, the sea, and… the sea. A Great fully loaded post is coming up soon inshallah, but right now I need to get some sleep.. my head is twirling and I feel like am still in the sea.
The video above is a one I shot during one of the dives. The corals and the visibility is amazing. it’s in a place called Canyon Reef, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. You guys wouldn’t believe how beautiful the place is!
I’ll be leaving today to Jeddah on a diving trip with Bubbles Diving Center. We will be living on the boat for the entire journey, and have unlimited dives. UNLIMITED dives! It’d be a minimum of 3 times a day.. for 5 days.. yeah I’m gonna hate the day I got my license, but that’s alright, as long as I’m away from the daily routine I’ll be happy, even if it just for a few days.
I’m gonna be away till tuesday. I’m going to post all about it when I come back. Wish me luck!
Mishary take care of the blog. I have spies everywhere
Prelude:
There was an italian food lover back in the 1920’s who married a woman that came from a family famous for their good taste and restaurateur-ship. The couple had their first child in 1959. Soon afterwards the husband decided to open up a restaurant as a gift to his wife, and they named it Margherita. Their child grew up and inherited his Mom’s good taste and passion for cooking. Almost 50 years later this child opened up his own Margherita restaurant in Gemayze, Lebanon.
Review:
I thought the story was worth mentioning, it’s a nice one.
Anyway, We went to this restaurant when we were in Lebanon 2 weeks ago, during Ramadan, but unfortunately when we got there we discovered that they don’t serve anything but pizza till 8pm. Me and my friends were fasting, and while we would’ve loved having a pizza as a side dish or a starter, there was no way on earth we’re going to settle for pizza as a main dish, after all we were fasting and unbelievably hungry from the long day we spent in beirut. So, as my friends were preparing to leave the place, I couldn’t resist ordering a pizza to go. I just had to taste it, coz I heard some pretty nice things about their pizzas (and yeah the place smelled heavenly. It was killing me). And believe you me when I say that this is the best pizza that I have every tried! The dough is so crispy at the edges, and then sooo thin in the middle that it is impossible to lift with one hand, you’d have to lift with both hands to support the middle section. The tomato sauce, cheese (mozzarella. I asked for their best pizza and they recommended the Margherita pizza with mozzarella slices.) along with whatever spices they put in there, all were exceptionally tasty and full of flavor.
The restaurant is pretty small and cozy, with a big pizza oven in the middle of the place. Also the staff were very friendly and welcoming (except for when I asked to take some pictures).
You’ve got to try this place out. Highly recommended.
While we were on Sharm AlSheikh last month, we were told not to miss a place near Sharm, called Dahab. The place contains one of the best diving spots in the world. It is called “The Blue Hole”. It is a hole right off the shore, the picture below might explain it a bit, as you can see, it look somewhat like that, a solid ground, reefs and corals, and then chuk bom a hole. You dive in this vertical narrow cave till you reach an arch; an exit to the open water.
The Blue hole at Dahab is infamous for being dangerous, and could lead to deaths, it had led to the deaths of many divers actually. Make sure you have a good guide when you’re there, since a there is no need to worry when you have the right equipment and a guide to show you through, And also to let you know when you need to ascend. It’s beauty is fatal, and thats why many people have drowned over the years (or at least that is one of the reasons), because of how exceptionally beautiful it is down there. It’s color, it’s steepness, it just allures you to go further down, kinda sucks you in, makes you want to get “just a little deeper”.
For me, the thing that made this spot the best spot I’ve dived in so far, is it’s steepness, it feels like you’re diving next to a huge & extremely vertical mountain, which provides a perfect flying illusion. It kinda feels like you’re flying next to mountain and when you look down, trying to get an idea of how tall this mountain is, the bottom is no where to be seen, and what’s below just fades into darker shades of blue & feels bottomless. It is that way because it’s 800+ meters deep. Read the rest of this entry »
We went to lebanon this past weekend. We had fun and did a lot of things in a very short period of time. It was quick but we needed such a getaway. Below you’ll see 20+ random pictures I took while I was there. Read the rest of this entry »
We wanted to try out some perfumes in the duty free shop at Sharm AlSheikh’s airport, But being in Egypt we should’ve known better, nothing is for free over there. Not even the free testers!
They removed their upper parts, and in some cases, removed the whole bottle from the shelves and kept the caps only!
Dahab is a town an hour away from Sharm AlSheikh, and it is world famous for having one of the best diving spots in the world. The Blue hole and the Canyon are one of the best spots I’ve ever been to. I shot this video above as I was entering the canyon. It was breathtaking!
Yesterday my family arrived from switzerland, ANM showed me a receipt with swiss francs. along with Kuwaiti dinars, I think its a wise move from their part. So no need to bother calculating anymore.
We chose the dead sea just because it was the only destination available at the time; all the other places we’re either fully booked or insanely expensive for a last minute decision. We didn’t know anything about the dead sea except for the pictures we saw at the last minute. We did not expect to love the trip this much!
Yes, According to Jordan’s TV Saudi Arabia will not allow old people along with the kids to do Hajj this year, this prevention will insure that the Swine flu virus will not get spread. and its part of their preventive plan for this year which is already made by the Health Ministry.
Seriously I’ve never been sun burned like this before.. it hurts! I bought an after sun cream and it’s not working. I can’t move and can’t turn, and it took me well over 5 minutes to wear a shirt!
Anyway, the trip was amazing, You’ve got to visit the dead sea, it’s beautiful and luxurious. Go to Kempinski, not to movenpick and not Mariott (saw them both and they don’t hold a candle next to Kempinski). Oh and You might wanna skip everything that is not IN the hotel.. Amman and the surrounding areas are kind of dull.
I’m going to write a big post with lots of pictures about the dead sea soon, so stay tuned.
I’ll be going to Jordan this weekend. To the dead sea to be specific. We booked a hotel by the sea.
This is going to be my first visit to Jordan and my friend hasn’t been there either. We’re going there mainly for relaxation. The daily routine is killing us and we need a change. We’ll try and enjoy the sea, swimming, mud stuff, relaxation and massages… basically minimum muscle movements.
Then I think we’ll go discover other interesting places in Jordan. We’re looking for old souks, old streets.. you know get an idea about the culture and ofcourse the food.
You may ask why the dead sea? why Jordan? well.. Because the lovely people of Kuwait left us no other options! all the tickets are booked for this weekend!
