Got two questions for you guys and need your help because I’ve already did a search on Google and didn’t come up with anything, the questions are:

1. Can I redeem a UK iTune card if I’m signed in US store?

2. Can I merge two cards together? let’s say I got in the balance $10 and just bought $50 card, once its redeemed will my balance be $50 or $60?

UPDATE I:

Answers are:

1. No

2. Yes

So, I’m heading to Apple store to try to exchange it with anything else.

UPDATE II:

Just came from them and they’ve accept to exchange it. And I did exchange it with the MBP battery for Yousef’s laptop.

Did you Major in Marketing? Are you working in a Marketing department? Ok, do you think you’re job requires skills and sometimes you find it hard to get the potential customer to memorize your brand?

Then click on the article circled above (dated April 16 1912) and try to put yourselves in this Man’s shoes! He is begging the readers, ALL readers, to pay attention to the brand name, ANY brand name! I mean this guy must have had a very tough job trying to shove the concept of branding down America’s throat.

So yeah, marketing people, you should think twice before asking for a raise again :P

OT: Don’t you think it’s weird to include that article on the front page next to Titanic’s news? It looks too unimportant an article to be on that particular front page, doesn’t it?

If you want to read the full page (huge and will take time to load) Click Here

I can’t even open a single page without waiting forever for it to load up!

Is there something wrong with the internet? I’m writing this using my blackberry (yeah that’s how slow the net is!).

Anyway I hope this thing doesn’t persist.

Update: It seems the problem is fixed now.

Don’t u feel that suddenly every one want to get white teeth? I know it’s a good thing and who wouldn’t want white teeth or whiter teeth in some cases. But I feel that it’s the new thing now. You hear about it everywhere and even see it on TV advertisements (which became 2 ads without me realizing at first!). And I can’t deny it, it does make the biggest difference in someone’s face and smile, so why not I guess.

There are some popular methods for example going to the dentist and having it professionally done or using whitestrips, and I think there are some teeth whitening pastes….I am sure that some of u are blessed with white teeth but my question is for normal people, did u try any of these methods? tell us ur experience and recommendations

I didn’t know there was a puzzling history behind this island other than those stone faces. To tell you the truth, before reading about it, I thought it was near scotland (don’t ask. Click to know it’s location.) Well Let me tell you about this one mystery.

Easter Island have been puzzling historians and scientists. It is said that it used to have a large population and lots plenty palm trees, but today nothing can be found there, the island is deserted, and there is not a single palm tree on the entire island.

Scientists have been looking for answers for the disappearance of forests and palm trees in particular. They have developed many theories. I’m gonna share 3 of them with you:

Theory #1:
A thick layer of ashes was found in deeper layer in the ground, and it is wide spread, which led a group of scientists to believe that there was a huge fire that burned the entire island. The fire was caused, according to this theory, by a war. This theory went on to specify that it was an invasion not just a war, and this invasion caused the extinction of the entire population and the palm trees.

Theory #2:
Rodents took over the island. Rats found their way to island through ships that used to frequent the island. Dozens of palm nuts were found hidden in caves in the island. It appeared that even those palm nuts were not saved from the rats, and that chewed marks were found on the palm nuts, and that they were no longer could be used for regeneration purpose. Which ultimetely led to the extinction of the palm trees on this island. And this was the reason that led people to abandon the island in search of food and wood resources.

Theory #3: (I like this one the most)
People over used the palm trees as a source of wood until total deforestation. They used the wood to build shelters and roofs for their homes, and to help them as sledges to build those statuses you see on top of this post. One author posed a funny question, He said: “What were they thinking when they cut down the last palm tree?”

Side talk: This guy is asking what were they thinking? Isn’t the answer obvious? This is happening on a larger scale right now, in Kuwait, in the middle east, and in the world as a whole. What are we thinking right now is exactly what those islanders were thinking when they cut off the last tree!

I like theory #3 the most and think it could be the real reason behind the deforestation and the extinction of the entire population.

Abercrombie kuwait

My cousin was at Omnia Mall in Salmiya and he came across this Abercrombie shop. He told me that it’s not a part of the franchise, and he also mentioned that he had his doubts when it comes to the clothes, but he’s not sure.

Does any one know if the clothes are genuine or fake?

Suddenly everyone is asking about the iPhone. I thought the backlash won’t be starting for another year or so, Are we fed up with the Blackberry? So soon?

I’m not considering jumping ships just yet.

DHL Easy Shop

I was reading Mark’s post about the DHL forwarding service. while most of the comments were positive, I came across this one comment that included this LINK , and it’s about a guy who had a bad experience and decided to make a whole site to trash the new DHL service. This makes me think twice about the service, but then again it makes me wonder as to why would anyone dedicate such time and energy and build up a whole website just to trash a service?!

Fishy.

Laughing Gas in Kuwait

My Mom just told me that her dentist told her they’ve ordered laughing gas (Nitrous oxide) and they’ll receive it soon.

It never occured to me to ask for this laughing gas as a form of anesthetic instead of needles. Is it available in Kuwait? My Mother’s doctor was excited about it when she was telling her.. Mom goes to a private clinic, not a well known one, so I’m not sure if they’re behind when it comes to this Gas, or is it because this Gas isn’t available/used in Kuwait.

Any idea? coz I’m sure gonna ask for it instead if it’s available.

Recurring Dreams Mine is about college

I’ve spent lots of years in college, I didn’t have it as smooth as other people did, mainly because I screwed up big time and neglected what should’ve been my main concern. I think it’s very normal to worry about these things a couple of days, a couple weeks, a couple of months after graduation… but not 2 years later.

Yesterday I had this recurring dream, I don’t know if you guys have dreams of this nature, where I’m 2 weeks away from my last day at school and I discover that there is this one course that I totally forgot about and that I haven’t attended any of it’s classes nor exams. The dream is so real that I wake up miserable in the midst of the night, and when I go back to sleep I continue that same dream again! These types of dreams happens at least once a month..

What is your recurring dream?

traffic

It keeps happening every year, when Ramadan is nearing it’s end the highways and roads get packed with cars, especially near the malls. Mom says it’s because of people and their last minute shopping for eid and girls wanting to cut their hair.

I understand why it happens, but what I don’t,  how come it happens every year?? I want to know what kind of logic do these people have? Haven’t you learned to finish all your shopping for eid before Ramadan? or atleast before the first half of it ends?

Some years ago Ramadan used to take place when the weather is about to get colder, so that kind of justified the shopping, but now? I just can’t understand why does this has to happen every year.

STTA 2

Someone I know had an accident the other day, He’s ok. And people have been repeating this one line a lot “The hell with the car, thank God he’s safe / 6iz bisayara ilmohim ohwa mafeeh shay”

I like having people say that, and I say that too sometimes, shows how much we care. But for argument’s sake, I’m gonna ask you this:

Don’t you think the person who is actually paying for the damages should be the only one using that phrase? And no one but that person should be allowed to say that?

Coz it doesn’t make sense, unless you’re going to say “Don’t worry about the car, I’m gonna buy you another one” only then you’re allowed to use that phrase, But till then, it should be restricted to parents and to whoever is actually paying.

PS: I use that phrase too (One of the many silly lines I hate to hear and use)

Salad Girls

I don’t mean to upset any of you, I’m just curious.

SOME girls, a lot of girls actually, go to restaurants and only order a salad. They eat half of it and then push the dish and say “I’m full / tshabe3 sala6at’hom”. It happens a lot and it’s kinda funny. Why go to a restaurant and just eat a salad? Are you dieting? Let’s assume you are indeed dieting.. Why eat half of it? Is it really that filling?

I asked a girl and she said that she knows the “type”, she said that some girls do that coz they feel more attractive acting this way. She also said that some girls do that and then order a real meal when they get to home.

My friend told me that his colleague has been married for many years, But to this day when she wants to eat freely at a restaurant she has to be with a friend, if she were ever with her husband she always settle for a salad and tiny bites here and there. She says she’s too self conscious to eat what her heart desires when her husband’s around

I know a lot of girls who are not like that though, so don’t feel like I’m generalizing here. I just don’t understand.

There's got to be someone to blame

I don’t know who to blame, the envious countries claiming to be friends and allies only to jump and stab us from the back once they get a chance, or blame us, Kuwaitis and Kuwait as a nation and the way we “market” ourselves to the unfortunate countries around us, the countries which God did not bless with the fortune we have and enjoy.

Why are we so misrepresented? Someone needs to be pointed at and be blamed for that. In my opinion it’s not the people, coz the people helped till they grew skeptic with the amount of ungratefulness they saw and felt. Is it the government? Couldn’t they market Kuwait and shed a better light on the nation? I don’t know. It’s just frustrating.

I remember Mom telling me that we, Kuwaitis, since we got rich from the oil, we were always caring for other Muslim and Arab countries around us. Supporting them and being charitable towards them, and thats not just a move the governent is making for diplomatic purposes, but us the people too. My mother used to tell me how when she a little child in school, how everybody took it as a personal duty to fill all the little pigy bank (7a9ala) they used to hand out in schools whenever some country was in need. She remembers that she, even as a little child felt that it’s her duty to help, She used to fill up those 7a9alat every time, and it went without saying that every 7a9ala must be filled and handed back! clothes should be sent, blankets, tents, rugs, whatever those people needed, we must help. From Algeria’s days to Palestine to Somalia, Yemen..etc We always helped and helped a lot. Even I remeber how proud people were at my school when their name would be mentioned after handing back a full 7a9ala. Generation after generation we were taught to GIVE.

And now we here about iraqis accusing Kuwait of being greedy and “want to stir past conflicts”. And we have The Independent writing pieces about a “Stingy Kuwait”. Really? Are we really stingy? Were we ever that bad? Haven’t we done enough good deeds to shut all haters up? Yes we did, but it’s not marketed right. Or at least thats the only reason I could come up with.. Enlighten me if Ive missed something.

But for people to judge us because we still can’t forget that we were invaded (19 years today) and unwilling to give our right for reparation up.. I think it’s just a tad too much.

I’m not gonna read and edit the post coz I know I’m gonna have second thoughts and delete it.. so there.

Sucking on soda cans

Don’t you think it’s funny that we wash the orange’s outer skin before eating what’s inside, But we don’t wash a soda can before sucking on it?

Who Wants Steve Jobs iPod Headphones

According to the seller,

“These are Steve Job’s personal use headphones for his old iPod Classic. I work for Jonathan Ive as his secretary. When Mr. Ive had a meeting with Steve Jobs about 4 or 5 months ago, Steve Jobs dropped his headphones and didn’t notice. So I took the headphones with me.”

So do you believe it?
