Emirates is ready to establish their new route from Dubai to New York very soon, ofcourse with the new double decked airplane, the A380. Here is more about it:
“Emirates was quick to recognise the potential of Airbus’ revolutionary design when it was first introduced in April 2000, and was the first airline to place an order – and is now by far the biggest single A380 operator, with 58 new aircraft due to join the Emirates fleet.
When the Emirates A380-800 makes its maiden passenger-carrying flight, we will for the first time be able to transport more than 500 passengers in a single aircraft, with the same levels of comfort and service that has made us the world’s fastest-growing airline.”

how long does it take?
Japan Airlines and other far-eastern airlines, have for many years operated Boeing 747`s with more than 500 passengers.

If you aren’t sleeping there and you just want to store your luggage go to the emirates hotel (run by emirates air) it is fairly cheap. I arrived there at 2 in the morning their time and we weren’t going to sleep in the airport and the emirates hotel was full so we went to city seasons in Old Dubai our Taxi from DIA was 30drhs and our hotel for 5 hours was 750drhs adding up to approx. 260 dollars US! But after that we still had 24 hours there so we went on a tour bus it really is a beautiful place it is a shame foreigners can’t become citizens!
