They’re going to release a new e-Go package tomorrow. It’s going to be a prepaid package, no fixed monthly fees and no subscriptions. the e-Go device (shown above) will be sold for KD 40 and then you can charge it by paying either through eezee cards or by going online and pay using your Knet or Credit card. You can choose to pay KD1.5 which equals either 500mb worth of bandwidth or 24 hours internet access.
The network connection speed is still 7.2mb for this new package.
This is great, i wonder how compatible on a mac this will be.

My usual bandwidth consumption goes between 1GB~5GB per day… So it’s more like I would pay 3KD~15KD a day…
So keep doing that for a month would be like 90KD~450KD… Still uselessly costs ALOT!
Can we use the usb device we already have? and just buy a new sim?

bo 7amad: it’s the same Huawei E220 e-Go device. You can use the provided-on-cd drivers (Launch2net) or Huawei’s mobile connect software. Both work fine, but I prefer the latter.
Miyafushi: yes, there is a 9 KD package for a new e-GO2GO sim that includes 6 KD of credit.
I’ve heard some goody things about this blog. The content has really been useful a great balance of text and pictures.
Q8 geek – thats rather unreasonable, u will most probably get capped mid month by any ISP with this consumption

hi, i’m using 15KD one connection with 385kbps speed, i will go for it, my question is that have zain started this service or not yet?
I called them twice today and spoke to them, and they said they only have the 40KD package with the USB device. What gives? I already have 2 USB devices, and I know the new device is coming out. Are they trying to offload their stock on us?

i’ve been through this state (if not more) for almost a year… no big annoyance from my ISPs (KEMS, FastTelco and UnitedNetworks… Even WNet but with less bandwidth consumption)
so still Zain eGo2Go wouldn’t satisfy my needs with such high cost
Q8Geek: If I may butt in your conversation, high usage data subscribers (and voice, for that matter) always get a better deal with postpaid lines. This product is best suited for anyone who is content with 500 megs a day (consisting perhaps of one heroes TV episode download at 350 megs, many many youtube videos, and virtually unlimited browsing/emails/Messenger), AND needs to use the internet no more than 4 days a week. If this someone uses E-GO2GO, then he will get a better deal compared to the 28 KD package that offers the same speed. From your usage description, I’d go with a DSL line without a fair usage policy 😀

Zain has suddenly reduced its fair usage policy limit from 30 GB to 20 GB on their Ego postpaid subscribers. Thats so terribly unfair isn’t it. We signed to their contract knowing the limitations and now they are implementing this changes. Why don’t they implement it on the new subscribers and not to existing ones. If their systems cannot cope up with the rising demends, why not stop selling it. Seem like they would rather sacrifies the trust given to them by their subscribers just to earn more. If they are honest enough, they must let their subscribers terminate their contract free of charge.
