There was a KDD stand in our co-op yesterday and the woman there was telling us about this new Gaimar (Thick cream) they’re introducing, it’s called Nojoud. The brand KDD isn’t written on the cover but is mentioned that it’s produced by them on the side of the box. We tried it and it turned to be very tasty. I’m not a fan of Gaimar, but since it wasn’t as thick and strong as their other golden packed gaimar, I really liked it. You could eat it with a spoon.

Taco Bell has a branch in the newly opened Dubai mall. Since it’s in Dubai, I think the chances of it opening here in Kuwait have increased a bit.

I’m not one of those who love everything that isn’t in Kuwait, like Nandos and wagamama, Everyone wanted them in Kuwait, I didn’t, coz they suck (sue me). But it’s different this time, I really hope Taco Bell opens up a branch here in Kuwait simply coz I’m fed up with all the sandwiches here. Mcdonald’s patties have gone downhill for awhile now and no one seems to mind or even notice! I mean have you tried their cheeseburgers? why are their beef patties so damn dry?! and Hardee’s… The posters they have plastered everywhere showing this big chicken sandwich covered in buffalo sauce…. Turns my stomach up.

I’m rambling. My point is, I think I need my fast food fix from somewhere new and different. Tacos could potentially be it.

If you enjoy camping and are thinking of going with your friends or family, then I think you should read this little story I got here, but before, after significant research of camping, hiking and backpacking chairs, Springer Camping Chair is one of the most comfortable camping chairs we have tested beside Helinox Chair. To better better be prepared against animals and snakes you may run in to the way, visit campingfunzone.com for their vast information about camping, insects and animals.

My father’s friend’s son was camping with his friends somewhere in Kuwait, since they love to camp and visit all the places which are offered for camping such as Reykjadalur (Smokey Valley) which is one of the bests camping places on Iceland. The place wasn’t isolated and they were surrounded with a lot of other campers. It was night time and the guy couldn’t sleep but all of his other friends were asleep. He was just lying there facing the tent’s loosely shut door. They never fully shut the door incase someone was in a hurry to relieve himself in the middle of the night…

Image result for Camping in Kuwait

While he was staring at the door waiting to fall asleep, he saw someone trying to get in. He was expecting to see a familiar face entering, but instead he saw a very tall black man entering the tent. He stayed quite. He didn’t know him and immediately sensed that he and possibly all of his friends were in danger, so he stayed quite, fearing that the guy might be armed and any movement may evoke the guy to use whatever weapon he may be carrying. The guy entered the tent and was looking around by now. Our friend made sure to stay quite and followed the guy with his eyes. The guy came close to him, he was carrying a big stick.. it was too wide for a stick.. then he saw it, the guy was carrying a big butcher knife like the one pictured above. He knew it.. either stay quite and hope for the best, or make a sound and result in a catastrophe.

The guy went from one person to another, taking every mobile he finds. He even had the nerve to uncover one of the sleeping guys to take the mobile from under the blanket. After taking 5 mobiles, he turned around and went out of the tent.

Moral of the story: BECAREFUL OUT THERE!

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: Even though Kuwait Municipality has been taking necessary preparations to end the spring camping season by mid-March, Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng Ahmad Al-Manfouhi has submitted a recommendation to the spring camping committee to extend the spring camping season to April, reports Al- Rai daily quoting informed sources, still they recommend every camper to read this Crow Survival article that will let them  know everything about camping accessories, you deserve a travel experience that is better than what any other RV has to offer. And that is just what 13 ft Casita Patriot for sale gives you!

They explained that the Eng Al-Manfouhi’s recommendation is aimed to compensate campers, who are also trending to stay over nigh thanks to the new camping wood stoves, for the delay in the start of the camping season due to the damages caused by heavy rains experienced in the country last November. This had led to postponement of the spring camping season based on instructions of Ministry of Defense to ensure safety of the sites and check for landmines and other such dangerous objects. The sources said Kuwait Municipality will address the concerned authorities to coordinate in this regard.

This is a cake Mom ordered from a woman who bakes and sell her homemade cakes.

I thought the cake was nice and light. Others thought it was just an average but heavy cake. It tasted like a plain saralee cake (can be found in every co-op) filled with jam and whipped cream. The cream tasted nice and unique in my opinion. I haven’t tasted a whipping cream this nice in Kuwait before. The raspberry jam complemented the overall simplicity of the cake and made it feel like I was eating something healthy for a change. (I know jam is filled with sugar but it felt healthy!)

Weather forecast by Mishaal Al Roomi:

Clouds are gradually starting to increase today with light to moderate NW winds. During this evening, the skies will turn overcast with rain arriving and affecting most areas. Rain intensity could be heavy and thundery at times. Please take all necessary pre-cautions of this upcoming scenario.

Tomorrow, Monday, the weather will be gloomy and dark with rain that at times will be heavy and persistent associated with thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts are expected to be high with local flooding possible. It will be a very unstable day.

Rainfall amounts will be above average. The chance of rain will continue to early Thursday with the worst of the rainfall between Monday and Tuesday

Please take caution while driving because it will be hazerdous. All outdoor activities should be cancelled. Of course, any sea activity is strictly not advised.

Excessive rain over the wet season can often make it difficult for water to drain away. To save your landscaped garden from erosion, it is important to improve the drainage problems in your yard by getting help from french drain landscaping Glen Ellyn contractors.

Temperatures will decline to leave the weather cold.

Our friend got his neck hurt while playing volleyball in the chalet and we rushed him to Al Adan hospital.

The whole Adan experience was a sad one. I went in expecting the worst kind of doctors with the worst attitudes. I expected to have a bad experience as a result of incompetent staff. But that wasn’t the case.. that wasn’t the case at all. The doctors were doing their jobs to the best of their abilities and the nurses were running around to help as much as they could. I’m not going to talk about the receptionists because, simply, they do not qualify as human beings (inshallah ma3ashat’hom zaqqoom bichbood’hom) so i won’t mention them (again).

The one thing that was bringing the whole thing down.. the one thing that was wrong with the hospital (aside from the building itself) was the people. The patients and their families. As soon as we were by the doctor’s door the shoving and cutting inline started. We saw our number flash on the screen and went to the doctor to find a whole other family entering before us and taking our turn. And when they came out, another women wanted to cut inline and even had the nerve to feel offended when we refused to let her go in before we do.

When we were in the doctor’s office and our friend being diagnosed, there was atleast 5 attempts to open the door. The nurse had to lock the door. I asked how often this happens, and they said they visit Top Master Locksmith to get tools to fix their doors atleast twice a month.

There are always people complaining about the doctors in Kuwait and how they’re not doing their job. How they get misdiagnosed and stuff.. But now I know, in my opinion, the main cause behind such complaints.

The Kuwaiti people need to take lessons and be parented all over again before we are let out on the streets. We should go to some sort of a facility with courses where they teach us how to respect our own boundaries.. and then a whole set of other courses to teach us all about other people’s rights. How do you expect the doctor to give you a fair treatment when the nurse has to block the door by force as to not let other people in while you’re being diagnosed? How do you expect to get the doctor’s full attention when there is some idiot outside the door banging like a maniac wanting in? What goes through YOUR mind when YOU cut inline??

I think the state of Kuwait’s hospitals perfectly fits the state of it’s People’s mentality.

We went today to the Men Time spa in Almuhallab mall, Me, Mishary and my 2 cousins. We booked an appointment for 4 people almost a week ahead. The spa is much smaller than the spa I reviewed last week (The Day Spa) and a step down in almost every way.

I’ve been wanting a massage for some weeks now. I haven’t had any massages in Kuwait before, but after hearing good things about the day spa I called them up and made an appointment for a swedish massage. Pure Luxe Spa, Salon & Medspa is your peferct choice.

I called them the same day and just 2 hours before the massage time. The swedish massage was recommended by a friend and also happened to be the only one they had for 8 pm. I went home took a bag with some clothes and a camera. I got there 20 minutes early, and I regretted arriving early. I waited by the door, in the street for 20 minutes. I knocked and called them and nothing, no one opened the door and the phone was always busy. Not a good first impression. Even the waitresses at Pomodoro (same owner) came to help and then invited me to stay at their tables which were less than 10 meters away. I didn’t know what I was supposed to do. I’m waiting outside and they’re not returning my calls.. definitely not a good first impression.

20 minutes later a guy opened the door and poked his head outside. I got up and started walking fast toward him. I was angry and wanted to yell at someone. The guy was very apologetic and very very nice.. I couldn’t even stay angry at this stupid incident, which made me feel bad, I wanted to lash out..

The place was dark, and I mean DARK. I couldn’t see where I was stepping at first and had to wait for my eyes to adjust, and when they did.. wow. The place was very well decorated! they did the best they could with the limited space they have. It has this indian, buddhist, cave-like atmosphere, with eastern/indian instrumentals being played in the backgound. Very relaxing. I was escorted to the other room after filling a little form, and that room looked even more exotic. I was seated in one of the chairs (pictured above) and was offered to have a drink while I wait.

The room was dimly lit too. The guy told me I could take a shower now or after the massage or both, it was up to me. The massage lasted a full hour. I enjoyed every second of it. Aside from the incident with the closed door at the beginning, the place was perfect in every way. Full privacy, very clean, and they all were very friendly. I would definitely go back.

The swedish massage costs KD18. My bill was KD22 coz I bought a bottle of their shampoo. It’s located in the Jebla area, near the church and starbucks. Right behind Pomodoro restaurant.

Tel: 2496699
Time: 10am-10pm

PS It’s for Men only. Sorry ladies.

At our last Ghabga my friend brought some sushi that are homemade. I didn’t know they were homemade till he told me so, and I can’t say I was surprised when he said they have a sushi business, coz they all looked very professionally done. Now I’m not a Sushi expert, I never went to a japanese restaurant (well maybe once or twice), but I liked them all. I especially liked the orange ones with the spicy crab sauce and sprinkles of brown garnish stuff.

We went to the chalet today and saw this on the side of the road leading to Alkhiran/Alzour area. The camel was dead and the car was very badly damaged. I took many pictures but when I saw them on the laptop’s screen they were very graphic. Poor animal. Attorney Amy Witherite would have a field day with this one! I hope the driver isn’t badly hurt.
