One of my best lenses fell (along with the camera.. Gasp!) on the cold harsh asphalt outside our house, and pieces of little things rolled out of it’s little body.. Poor little thing. I’m over dramatizing by the way coz I’m gonna throw it away and buy another one just like it. ThankGod nothing happened to the camera, coz it fell along with the lens, very tough camera! Mashallah.
This is the last picture I took before the fall. Isn’t it just captivating? 😛
This lens is the best investment I’ve made when it comes to buying things for my camera. I think it’s a great lens for 2 reasons: First because it’s really cheap compared to the other lenses, secondly, I love this lens coz it makes dull pictures look good and makes me look like a great photographer, not that I’m not, but yeah it makes me look even better 😛
I loved it and I’m gonna buy a new one just like it. it’s $99 and I highly recommend it.
Today just spotted one of the newest private petrol station in Kuwait, its located near Al-Reqqa area and still its under construction but they choose orange to be their favorite color, lets hope they’re coming up with something new.
I’m sure most of you are annoyed out of your mind by flies when you’re outdoor, and so are we. We tried everything but nothing works better than this thing pictured above. All you need to do is pour some in a plate and place it somewhere close. The pesticide that looks like brown sugar attract the flies and once they get a taste, they’re doomed. It works wonderful, and if you find yourself in a bigger situation just call Olathe pest control to get rid of them !
How does it work: “The insect, attracted by the sugary granules and the sex pheromone contained in the bait, licks them and gets rapidly poisoned.”
This is how it should look like awhile later, LINK.
I got it from Abdali Co op, but I’m sure you can find it somewhere closer if you looked.
Where I work I have to use the elevator in the parking everyday. The elevator is big and could fit well over 7 people, which is good, considering we’re always in a hurry to get to work or back to our cars. So, I, being the great person that I am, always let the ladies get in and out first.
One time, as I was waiting for the elevator, a nice lady waiting next to me talked to me and told me “I always see you letting the girls in first. You shouldn’t do that, they’re unappreciative” I couldn’t agree more. Some of you girls are just pathetic. (Keyword: Some)
When I show the common courtesy of allowing a lady to enter an elevator before I do, it by no means indicates that it’s alright for some idiots waiting for the elevator to pass me, and fill the elevator, leaving me stranded without a lift!
I don’t know why some of the girls don’t get the concept behind this nice thing, some of the men, do. My willingness to let you in first does not mean I’m willing to wait for the next elevator, and it does not mean I enjoy letting you in first.. It just mean that I’m willing to let one woman go in ahead of me out of politeness. It’s not an open invitation for all the ignorant women waiting behind me to stampede their way in!
If you were ever behind a guy who was waiting for the elevator ahead of you:
STAY behind him.
WAIT for him to let you in first.
DON’T crowd the elevator entrance.
BE THANKFUL when someone let’s you in first!
Some of the girls make me think twice before being polite again! It’s no wonder that common courtesy isn’t so common anymore! God!
Yeah I got a food poisinging from eating one of the tenderest meats ever at Meat Co. in Bahrain.
The food was great and the service was great. But then after going to sleep that night, I woke up with an equally great stomach pains, followed by lots of visits to the toilet and then a fever to end my weekend on a high note.
I went to the hospital and got a drip with 2 different medications and some pills. My other friends who ate with me in Meat company all had different orders, except this one friend, we ordered the same main course, it was dish was recommended by the waiter.
^This is the dish we had, taken from their online menu.
We paid 19 BD for a poisonous main course. Oh well atleast it tasted phenomenal.
Most of us if not all know about Showaiter Sweets from Bahrain. Showaiter Sweets is Bahrain’s trademark, and you just can’t go to Bahrain without passing by and buy some Halwa for you relatives. And I always wanted to see the factory. I’ve seen how they make the Halwa on tv, but I had to go to the factory this time. I just had to. I asked around and learned Read the rest of this entry »
When I first heard about the idea of a modern Kuwaiti cafe I remember thinking “why would I go to a starbucks wannabe and have Kuwaiti milk at an outing?” That was harsh, I know, but that was how I felt. But then after trying their Cardamom & Saffron Milk at work, that thought evaporated. Having that Kuwaiti milk in a paper cup at work cozied up the place. I totally changed my mind about the place! I think it’s an amazing idea and I wish them the best of luck.
The current branch is located right behind Gulf Bank’s head office. And I was just told that Haleeb w Hail, the new modern “Kuwaiti” cafe is opening up another branch at the Avenues.
I got this mug, which I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.. I was disappointed with how fragile and cheap it turned out to be. I should’ve gotten this cup instead.
I also got this Book Mark, it looks nice. it’s $9.99.
I’m thinking of getting this magnetic game thingi. I know I know! I’m getting a bit carried away.
I mentioned in an earlier post that I’m buying this cool stapler that got no staples in it. Well I received it today and I’m gonna show you exactly how it works and whether it can replace regular staplers or not! Read the rest of this entry »
My Father and Mother buy Afandi (Tangerines)Â around this time of the year, every year since I was a little kid. They would sit in the living room and eat some, and the smell would spread across the living room and the entire house. It’s smell proved to be infectious and every member of my family would smell it and then ask for some, and the smell only got worse with every peel of those Afandis.
I used to not like it’s smell but 20 years of Afandi got me accustomed.
Whenever anyone says “the weather is too good to be stuck at work” a certain memory pops into mind.
I was taking a course in Kuwait University one year, and it was a Wednesday. Back then Wednesdays ruled! Well on that day everything was especially glowing; the weather was changing…clouds were crowding the sky. Ah it was a perfect day for an outdoor brunch.
As I was walking to the class with my friend, another friend of ours joined us, and he spoke about how the weather was too good to be stuck in a class room. We all agreed and nodded along until we got to the class.
Three hours later, I was in a car with a bunch of other close friends and we headed to SAS to have brunch. I didn’t attend the rest of the classes that day and kicked the weekend off early. And on our way there we witnessed a car accident, the car turned over and crashed, lots of smoke and stuff, but we weren’t close enough and we continued our way to SAS (if you ever witness/ are a part of an accident, view the contact info for assistance). We spent a great time that weekend because of the lovely weather. That guy was right, the weather really was too good to be stuck in a classroom.
Come Saturday, a friend and I were walking to our class room, and we stopped at an announcement board to read what’s new. That’s when we saw that A4 paper with the bad news. Our friend who didn’t like being stuck in a class room on a cool weathered Wednesday skipped the rest of that day’s classes, just like I did, and he went to the gulf road instead, just like we did, and he, unlike us, had a car accident there. Passed away on the spot.
I can’t forget how eager and happy he was that it was finally the weekend. May God rest his soul and protect us all.
I just came back from a one week vacation (Paris packages are just great!) and I miss it already.
I spent the first day of Eid in Kuwait with my family and flew to Paris at night. However since Paris is enormous and there are different places that many people visit simultaneously, crime has been reported from time to time so we were reminded of some areas to avoid in paris. We arrived in the morning and we didn’t spare a minute and went straight to La Duree for breakfast, after dropping our luggages at the hotel Read the rest of this entry »
Envy and el7asad is something mentioned in the Quran, it’s not something we’re debating nor questioning. But don’t you think we’ve been giving too much credit to the “Evil Eyes”?
People can’t have a bad thing going in their lives and not blame someone for the misfortune. No one can get into an accident anymore and not contribute it to an evil eye. it’s always 7asad, always an animus someone who has an eye out on them.
I knew it got out of hand when my brothers accused a post I did of causing harm to a member of our family. Yep they think my post had something to do with it. This means that il3ain il7arra can now travel through the internet!
I know another person who was telling me that she doesn’t share her travel plans anymore, reason being: “I went through many serious cases of 7asad and ended up not enjoying my vacation because I shared my plans with my relatives.”
Are people taking it too far? or maybe having an answer as to why things are going wrong and accusing an outsider is far more convenient than having to search for one’s mistakes.
I don’t know if I’m overly open when talking about things that are going in my life, or if people are getting overly secretive. One thing I know though.. People are giving way too much credit to il3ain il7ara.
My friend owns a ‘Cafe & Restaurant’ place in the Free trade zone near Villa Moda, and the Place is called Centro Cafe. They recently started offering food on their menu, however, the menu isn’t officially printed yet, and they wanted to have some pictures taken of some of their dishes. I was asked along with my 2 friends HBZ and ½ Cream Milk to do a photoshoot for the menu. We agreed!
My friend bo9ale7 who is the marketing guy at Bubbles diving center called me one day and said they’re arranging for a diving trip to Jeddah, in a place called Al laith to be specific, and wanted to know if I’m in. I was very hesitant to go to Jeddah for 2 reasons, one being the place itself, Jeddah, Why on earth would any one want to go to Jeddah? I know Jeddah ‘3air, but still. Two, If I wanted to dive in places other than Kuwait, I’d go to Sharm Alshaikh! an obvious diving destination. Yeah so I was hesitant. I didn’t give him my answer till I learned that 3 of our mutual friends are going Read the rest of this entry »
