We had a meeting a few weeks back, along with a couple of bloggers, with the people at Zain. We were told about this new payment method, among other interesting things. Read what is OnePay below, and if you have any question regarding OnePay, type your question in the comments box and we’ll have someone answering them for you!

“Zain have launched today a new web service under the name “Zain OnePay”. This new payment gateway unifies the previous three different payment options on Zain’s website (QuickPay, eeZee Fast, and eeZee cards). Once you enter your mobile number it will automatically identify your line type (Postpaid or Prepaid) and then leads you to the best options available for your mobile number. Add to that, the change in transaction speed; much faster now!”

Amazon.com Inc is to sell its larger Kindle electronic reader, aimed at students, businesspeople and newspaper readers, in more than 100 countries for $489, following the rollout of its original device last year.Source

Do you think there is a market for it in Kuwait?

Personally, I can’t buy this device. It wouldn’t be healthy for my wallet. I have plenty of books I bought from abroad and they’re all waiting on my bookshelf to be read. I just can’t afford having this device and the access to the huge selection of books.

But then again, for book lovers this would be their savior. We all know the state of bookshops in Kuwait. This might be heaven sent for them if it reached and worked in Kuwait.

Yes, it’s back! 9K2HN found it in Kaifan’s co-op with a production date of 25th of Dec. New and fresh

American eagle first branch in Kuwait in march - alshaya

I posted a few months ago that Alshaya got a franchising agreement to get the American eagle to Kuwait & the Middle east.

My friend just told me that it’s going to open it’s first branch in Kuwait in march. It’ll be in the Avenues mall, and it’ll take Topman’s location.

It’ll also open it’s first branch in Dubai, 10 days before Kuwait’s.

“Members of the public will be able to watch the inauguration of Burj Dubai on January 4, 2010 from the adjacent Burj Park Island.” – Emaar

The years have gone by pretty quickly! I remember being near that piece of land and watching the constructions as they began turning it into what it is today. I’m looking forward to watch what this building is really like from the inside.

Thanks loco

My friend ½ Cream Milk just told me that the Voluntary work center (photography center) are having their 9th exhibition at the avenues mall. I went last year and I enjoyed what I’ve seen. All the photos are taken by members of the center, and my friend contributed 4 of them. Not to be biased, all of their works are great, but I liked my friend’s work the most.

Make sure to pay a visit and see what they have to offer.

Where: In and the avenues phase II near Aïshti and Samsonite.

When: Open from 29th of december to 2nd of january.

Time: All the time.

What would you do

I would kill this guy.

A husband who discovers he is HIV positive in 2004, tries twice to inject his wife with his blood, and successfully get her infected, by injecting a needle wit his blood while she’s sleeping, just so she wouldn’t leave him.

The woman felt a sting twice at night, and when she asked him if he had done something he denied it.

The woman is said to have agreed to stay married to him even though he is an HIV positive person for the sake of their children.

Seriously I would kill him.

Yesterday I was having lunch at Wasabi al bede’e, and I spotted this new TGI Friday’s that will be opening in the same area.

The NBK announced during it’s 57 years anniversary party today that the annual salary raises was increased to 5% from 2%.

Wishful thinking: Let’s hope the rest of the private sector follow suit and increase their (supposed) annual raises.

This was an emotional announcement by Oprah on her show, telling her audience her decision to retire in 2011, on her 25th season into the Oprah Winfrey show.

She won’t be out of the entertainment business though. She plans to launch her own channel on cable TV, and she named it OWN, which stands for Oprah Winfrey Network.

It’s sad to see Oprah go after all these years on tv, and I’m sure it’s a sad day for her fans. But hey, she did good. Real good actually. She gave us the Oprah Winfrey show, and in return The Oprah Winfrey Show gave her $2.3 Billion.
