Now that I’m full and looking at all these pictures, I can’t help but remember what my college professor (she’s Iraqi) told me when we were discussing the similarities of our dishes (Iraqi and Kuwaiti dishes). She said “we have many things in common, but we’re much more sophisticated when it comes to food, mostly because we were hugely influenced by the turks. Whereas your dishes, you of the gulf countries, your dishes aren’t presented well and sometimes I can’t even look at them. Look at your harees or whatever you call it for example, It looks like something that has been chewed and returned back”

Ista’3farallah.. But I think she really has a point! 😛

My friend just got the Epson p6000 and was showing it to me the other day. It’s a multimedia storage and viewing device with 80GB harddisk. At first I wasn’t sure what to use it for, but after playing around with it, I thought it’ll be a very good thing to carry around in the camera bag. You know, it’d come in handy at those times when you’ve just finished taking pictures and you want to view them but the laptop isn’t around.

We were in Marina crescent on thursday for the GulfRun event. There was a car show and a lot of really cool cars on display. I didn’t know it was an annual thing and that this year is it’s 4th.

“The GulfRun was first created in 2005 by a group of young Kuwaitis’ who wanted to practice car racing in a professional and secure environment. They wanted to avoid street racing, reduce car accidents, and prevent spreading fear among public, therefore, they rented the world renowned Bahrain International Circuit to be able to achieve their goal, strengthen their driving skills and learn the capability of their cars.

Three years later the GulfRun has evolved into an annual friendly racing competition. Under the guidance of professional-racers and instructors, racers are able to push their cars to the limits in a regulated and secured environment. At the Bahrain International Circuit, full safety will be emphasized as multiple instructors will be present along with a full safety staff, commonplace in F1 races.”

We went to Alwafra on friday where our friend rented horses for us to ride for an hour around the farm. As much as I don’t care for horses, I ended up having fun and the hour went by pretty quickly. Right after that we went to Alwafra’s veggies Market. It was more like the friday market where everything is being sold from animals to plants to veggies.

I’ll let the pictures speak for the rest of the post now.

We went back to ALThuba3iya Runway and saw some pretty neat 3D action. I think it is called 3D because the plane floats in the air, suspended, and feels like there is a little invisible thread keeping it up in the air. Or they call 3D for a completely different reason. I don’t really know.

The ‘Great Kuwait Sunset Challenge‘ has been launched a few days ago by our fellow blogger, intlxpatr. If you have good sunset photos and you wanna participate in this challenge, you can do so by sending her an email and she’ll post your pictures and we’re all gonna vote, somehow, and she’ll decide which photographer has the best shots.

I’ve learned that photoshopping an image is considered cheating, and I also learned that I don’t have a single good sunset photo! except the one above, but that is photoshopped to death, so..

I will try and take some pictures of sunsets. You do so too!

For more information on the challenge or if you have a question, go to intlxpatr.
