Few days ago i got my new mini studio, and since our electricity is similar to the UK’s i’ve decidedo to order it from Amazon UK to avoid any of those bulky converters, and today i decided to assemble it.

What surprised me was that it came with a bag! so its portable! yousef ya3ni agdar ayebaa 3endekom sahala 😛

and here it is fully constructed 🙂

It costs around KD 36 (KD18 + KD18 for shipping with Aramex)

I came across the image above while on wikipedia and it reminded me of some images I took back in june when I was in Montreux.

The pictures are of the same view. The old one is a painting, obviously, a 200 year old painting of Montreux and it’s lake by an artist named Joseph Mallord William Turner. It was painted in 1810. The picture on the other hand was taken in june of 2008. Almost 200 hundred years ago Mr. Turner sat somewhere close to where I was taking pictures and made that painting. Two images of the same place that are 200 hundreds years apart.

^Click on the picture for a bigger version. Would make a nice wallpaper, don’t you think?

Google “photoshop actions” and read about them. Great and easy to use for these types of nice outcomes.

This castle or château as they call em here in france is not so far away from our place, its less than 10 minutes away by car, and yet this was the first time we tried to take a closer look.

I like old buildings and the history behind them. I looked this castle up in google and it turned out to be older than what I thought. It was built in 1328 and owned by the Compey family of Geneva, it was passed to other owners later. In 1589 it was taken by force by the troops of Geneva who entered the Savoie region, till 1606. it is owned by a farm now.

Castle’s Location.

I was supposed to be back today from my short trip to Oman, but since I finished work earlier than expected I decided to cut it short and be back a day earlier. I didn’t tell anyone that I’d be home earlier, and I did manage to surprise them all. When I came into the living room, my wife was there, and she was not expecting me at all. After the salams, She was started acting all weird and started shoving me toward out of the living room to another room, that was weird so I asked her “whats going on!” and she said “Nothing!” I didn’t know anything about it till I went to get a glass of water and saw gift boxes on the dining table, being wrapped, and the whole table was messy from all the gift wrapping paper and stuff.

When I saw the gift, I got excited, but still didn’t know it was for ME! and I asked her whom is the gift for? and she said “You, it was supposed to be ur birthday gift.” My birthday is in september.. so she said that I can have the gift now, but this is it!

Thanks Ahmad for Conspiring with your sister, again. You both got me an amazing gift. 🙂

Aix Les Bains is a beautiful and quiet place in france and it overlook one of the most picturistic lakes I’ve seen. The first time I ever been there was when Mom insisted we go see the place where the pasha (of an old egyptian movie) supposedly spent his summers. The pasha had a really good taste, I liked the place a lot.

^This is the old town in Salzburg, a walking street with lots of shops and souvenirs shops can be found there, and all are in old buildings dating back to the 13 centuries. You can see above the mountain and overlooking the town there is an old castle, this castle was built over 600 years of constant work and remodeling. The tour guide said that every king (archbishop?) used to change things and remodel it and no one lived up to see it completed.

^20 years ago we sat at this restaurant/cafe. I remembered once I saw the path leading up to it!

It was a long LONG trip by train. It took us 8 hr and 45 minutes, 1 train change in Zurich and God only knows how many stops till we got to our destination. At first I did not feel like doing anything, I wanted to sleep, but the coffee I drank for breakfast did not help at first so i turned to the ipod. after the train change in Zurich, the train was much comfier so I did finally manage to sleep. I slept on and off for almost 3 hours. 3 hours in any other trip would’ve been really impressive, but not in this never ending trip. We ate lunch in the in-train restaurant, it wasn’t the best meal ever, but it managed to waste some time without us noticing, which is good.

We finally arrived, checked in, left our bags and headed out again. It was raining by that time. We went to the old town, which is breath taking to say the least. The place is very beautiful. I’ve been here once 20 years ago 😛 and I was shocked that I remembered a restaurant in the old town (I was 6 years old then) and when I tried to remind Mom, she remembered!
