I just placed an order for 2 lenses on amazon. I bought both the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 and the Sigma wide angle zoom lens. I tried them both with a friend and I liked them. I’m hoping the 50mm would help me take indoor pictures when the room isn’t very well lit, I’m also hoping that I won’t be needing to doctor the images anymore so they won’t appear yellowish. I also liked how the lens focuses on the object at hand and gives this blurry affect to the backdrop, the blurriness is more pronounced with this lens than any other lens I tried.

I think I’m getting a good deal on the wide angle lens coz the package I’m buying also includes a vertical grip (is that what its called?), 2 extra batteries, a mini tripod and some other things.

Thank You ::: ShoSho ::: & HKR for helping me decide πŸ™‚

My friend told me that its best to go vote either first thing in the morning or around lunch time. Thats when its supposed to be the least crowded. Thats what he said.. we’ll see. πŸ™‚

When are you going to vote? it ends today you know.. πŸ˜›

Update:

Apparently my friend told the rest of Kuwait about the perfect timing too. Half the population of Kuwait was standing in my line alone, which coincidently was the slowest moving line of them all. The people behind me (2 old men) cracking jokes and counting every second did not help at all! I tried to drift away in thoughts so that time passes a bit faster but they were always there to pull me back with their endless annoying meaningless chatter!

Guy1: you know its taking 5 minute for each person?
Guy2: 10 minutes.
Guy1: yeah about 10.
Guy2: and we have about… hmm 1,2,3…. *counts* approximately 40 in front of us. thats 400 minutes!
Guy1: oh wow! 400 minutes are like.. hmm… 4 hours!!!

At that point I just wanted to get up and leave, But thank God I managed somehow to block them away for the remaining time I was there. 2 hours and 10 minutes later I was done.

Hopefully some of the people I voted for win.

I’ve always enjoyed intlxpatr’s dawn shots. I thought I’d give it a try. It won’t be a habit though, I’m not a morning person and the only reason I took those photos is because I stayed up and couldn’t sleep. πŸ˜›

It was a beautiful morning and the weather was amazing!

We went to the Boat show in Al Koot Mall last friday. Now I know nothing about boats but I really liked it, I thought it was very nicely organized and the people seemed to enjoy their visit. Most of the boats were insulated with foams and other materials to keep them clean and tidy on the day of the show. You canΒ  learn more at Merritt Supply about the different kinds of foams.

The show was divided to 3 areas, one was in the fountains’ area, they built a little wooden bridge on top of the water that takes you all around that section of the show (as shown above). It looked very nice. The 2nd area was in the Marina in front of the fountains facing the sea (shown below) and the last area was near starbucks, just outside the mall.

This boat looked amazing.

I want to try this one day.

The boat I liked the most!

One of the better moments I had in this show was with this picture here (I took around 7000 pictures just to get 1 right). I’m not really a fan of boats, can you tell? πŸ˜›

After having a breakfast like this one here and lying around doing nothing for awhile we got a bit.. bored.

So, Me and HKR decided to go out and take some pictures with our cameras. One thing led to another and all of a sudden we were 7 people packed in 2 cars going for a , I’m not sure what to call it, they wanted to go ge79ing in a sandy area πŸ˜› Is there any better opportunity to try out my new lens? πŸ˜€ I used the 28-135mm for the most part and my friend used his Macro 100mm.

I loved using a quicker lens as it allowed me to take pictures in a more relaxed manner, I used to try to breath carefully while i click on the, uhmmm, clicker? i don’t know what its called, but it was annoying to be so careful. That wasn’t the case last weekend at all. I had a nice experience with the camera. Near the end I tried my Macro, but I didn’t like it in that setting, I think its better with objects that tend to stay in one place and do not move πŸ˜› however my friend used the Macro and nothing else. and his pictures turned out great! (bal) 😯

I’ve been wanting to buy a lens for awhile now, I asked around a lot and been given lots of great advices (thanks btw), But as always, I spend a lot of time in hesitation. Around a week ago I finally settled and knew what I really need. I needed to buy 2 lenses and a good camera bag to contain everything! I went to amazon and placed an order for a canon 28-135mm with IS & another canon but this time a macro 100mm. The first one will replace my current lens and its probably going to be the one I use the most. The macro on the other hand is a stone winner! it turns every dull little picture into an achievement in photography! yeah i’m sad to admit this but the camera does most of the magic.

I’m loving both lenses at the moment and been taking some good picture in the chalet (a good post with our infamous wrangler is coming up soon πŸ˜› ).

I need to buy 2 more essential things, I need a great cleaning kit and another battery. maybe a bigger CF card too.

Here are some pictures I took while playing around with the Macro lens. πŸ˜€

Today i went with Abdullah and Ali for dinner and then i decided to buy a coconut! (don’t ask!). I like to eat fresh coconut. So my friends suggested to go to souq sharq coz we were near by.

00dsc00268.jpg

Before heading to the vegetable market we decided to take a look at the fish market, look around & get some pics.

dsc00270.jpg

It was around 10:00 pm and the market was so crowded with people!

dsc00275.jpg

After we were done going through every fish, we went to the vegetable market and started searching for MY COCONUT πŸ˜€

dsc00280.jpg

Me and Ali searched every shop! The weird thing was whenever we asked anyone about them, the answer was like “Are you kidding? Men sejkom intaw yayeen edawroon ehny coconut??”

dsc00283.jpg

Finally some one heard us and told us its available in Sultan Center.

This is not bread its Baqsam! πŸ˜›

Thanks Abdullah and Ali for joining me in my search for the coconut!

canonΒ lens

I want to buy some accessories for my camera. first i want to buy a nice bag that’ll contain everything i have and will have in the future. then i want to buy a good lens with better zoom and with image stabilizer, this one is going to be a bit expensive for my taste, but oh well. then i want to buy some CHEAPER lens just becoz they’re cheap (u know i’ve got to fill the bag i’m gonna buy).. and last but not least, i want to buy a bigger CF card.. i’m not sure why i want to buy a bigger one now.. but it just doesn’t feel right to have a 1GB CF card… does it?

We went to ALQasr Hotel in Dubai, we wanted to try new things! we’re tired from the same old same old cafes and restaurants. we went there and stayed in the lobby, I drank tea and my friend ordered their marshmallow Hot chocolate… they ran out of marshmallows, so he got none.. he he he..

Anyway, I took some pictures with my new Bayotiful camera, and I would really like your input. feel free to criticize and I’ll feel free to edit your criticism πŸ˜€
