We were back last friday and saturday at Althuba3iya’s mini runway and this time there were some new planes there. I was most excited to see them fly the Private Jet, the Cessna Citation, which after some googling turned out to be a real private jets’ company. Ali Mashinchy was there too, I was told He is a very famous and one of the best jet pilots out there and that he’d won some major awards doing this. We were blown away by his skills as soon as he started flying those jets. He put quite a show on.

At the end of the day i will tell you what it is if no one figures it out 🙂

UPDATE:

I really enjoyed reading your comments guys .. some of you made me really laugh today thanks a lot! but

The ones who got it right are:

Eman, Mimi, Ja, A.M.S., Ali, Bo Fahad, noura and Om FasoOoL. IT IS a grain of sand ;)

I heard the one in Kuwait international fairs ground (arth alma3areth) went very nicely and had lots of good feedback from thee people for the way it was handled and organized. But looking at the pictures above (I don’t know which branch) I can’t help but think.. Is it really worth it?? going through all that!? I mean look at the employees!

Thanks INM

Taco Bell has a branch in the newly opened Dubai mall. Since it’s in Dubai, I think the chances of it opening here in Kuwait have increased a bit.

I’m not one of those who love everything that isn’t in Kuwait, like Nandos and wagamama, Everyone wanted them in Kuwait, I didn’t, coz they suck (sue me). But it’s different this time, I really hope Taco Bell opens up a branch here in Kuwait simply coz I’m fed up with all the sandwiches here. Mcdonald’s patties have gone downhill for awhile now and no one seems to mind or even notice! I mean have you tried their cheeseburgers? why are their beef patties so damn dry?! and Hardee’s… The posters they have plastered everywhere showing this big chicken sandwich covered in buffalo sauce…. Turns my stomach up.

I’m rambling. My point is, I think I need my fast food fix from somewhere new and different. Tacos could potentially be it.

Picture from Talal.

Just noticed that once i entered Google’s website i got redirected to Google.com.kw .

Yesterday after finding some help in the comments on my previous post I decided to go for it again. Any improvement ?

The stupidest most annoying and illogical quiz I’ve ever come across… and the most entertaining! (if you’re compulsive like myself) Give it a try HERE.

Thanks Dherar.

Al-Ghanim is offering the HP Mini-Note with reduced price of just KD99 during the Eid holiday. I think its a good deal since it was KD150 at Al-Ghanim

Thanks Abdullah

Taken from their website:

V-Net:

“Get high-speed Internet access on your laptop when you are on the move with VIVA 3.5G Data Card. It offers data transmission on laptop at speed up to 14.4 Mbps with V-Net (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) coverage.

Two packages for V-Net:

  • Pay as you go package, activated by default for all type of subscribers. This package is rated per Kbyte, 1 fils per Kbyte.
  • Unlimited package, this package is for 27KD/month.”

V-Link:

“When you plug a USB Modem into a laptop, it connects you to the web instantly. V-Link is a perfect option for Internet access on the go. Welcome the super slim and lightweight. You get freedom from wires and speedy Internet access on the move all in a tiny 30g V-Link Modem.

Just plug the V-Link into your USB slot and watch as everything auto-installs, it’s quick and easy, and with V-Net you can get the Usave broadband Internet access speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps.”

I don’t know what is the difference between these 2 services except that in the V-Net there is no modem mention and the speed is up to 14.4, and on the V-Link there is the modem but the speed is up to 7.2.

Click on the links to read more about both the V-Net & V-Link.

Thanks Khalid.

My friend bought his new E180 ego a few days ago from their airport branch. Here is what I know about it:

  • It’ll support the new 14.4 network speed.
  • It has 2 slots: 1 for the simcard and the other is for a mini SD card (up to 8 gb)
  • It costs KD45 if you already have a data line, and KD35 for the new subscribers.
  • It is much smaller and lighter than the one I’m using now (1st generation).
  • Better upload rate even on existing speeds.
  • It has a new revamped built-in software for both windows and Macs. Plug and play sort of thing. (Finally!)

We were invited by Ahmad’s in law’s to their farm in Abdali so we decided to head to Abdali in the early morning to enjoy the full day there. So at 9:00 i was ready and waiting at my in law’s and then we all headed to Abdali. We arrived around 10:30 and we, me and ahmad, went to take some pictures in the farm (which was beyond AMAZING mashalah). And here are the pictures we’ve taken.

Now that I’m full and looking at all these pictures, I can’t help but remember what my college professor (she’s Iraqi) told me when we were discussing the similarities of our dishes (Iraqi and Kuwaiti dishes). She said “we have many things in common, but we’re much more sophisticated when it comes to food, mostly because we were hugely influenced by the turks. Whereas your dishes, you of the gulf countries, your dishes aren’t presented well and sometimes I can’t even look at them. Look at your harees or whatever you call it for example, It looks like something that has been chewed and returned back”

Ista’3farallah.. But I think she really has a point! 😛

Usually whenever we want some iranian food delivered to our house we order from Marafi’s, But since 9k2hn was telling us about this Babak restaurant and how well is their presentation, we figured we’d order from them this time and give them a try.

I was expecting the packaging to be slighly better than Kabab Alhejja’s.. you know the white foam boxes wrapped in strings. But this one went well above my expectations. It was very nicely packaged. I leave you with the pictures now.
