Today we decided to have our lunch at Al-mayas restaurant. I went there with my wife, 9K2HN and Labeba. This time we decided to take my family there.
So we went ahead and ordered our appetizers (mazaat). We ordered 3arayes (basically its a round bread, cut in quarters with meat mixed in with some spices) ๐
Hi all, Yesterday we changed hosting companies. We were hosted by wordpress and now godaddy. The move have caused some things not work properly and other things went missing. We’re still going to work on the site, meaning we’re gonna change the theme, the header and maybe everything else, but we’re going to take our time doing all this stuff, we’re still pretty illiterate when it comes to these types of stuff. But, atleast now we’re done with the thing we were most worried about.
We’d like to thank 9K2HN for helping us with this move… Actually, he didn’t help us, I think it was more like.. we stepped aside and let him take control. If it weren’t for him, we probably would still be talking to that guy from bluehost through their live chat ๐ Thankyou.
Found this on the ground the other day while I was taking pictures. I don’t really think its a rose, or a flower for that matter, I think its probably something that fell off a pine tree or something similar, But I always wanted to use the word “petrified,” ever since I saw Harry potter and heard this word for the first time. ๐
I hate cats. They make me sneeze a 1000 sneeze per second and my eye itches whenever I’m close to one of them. Now I wonder what would’ve happened to the girl filming if the cage’s door suddenly swung wide open? ๐
This is exciting ๐ Our dear friend intlxpatr from Here There and Everywhere have honored us with this amazing award, Arte Y Pico Award. Thanks intlxpatr! ๐
Now there are some rules and some choices I had to make after receiving this award. The rules are:
1. Pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog.
3. Each award winner (upon acceptance) should show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award.
4. Show the link of Arte y Pico blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. Show these rules.
Now, I have many many more blogs that I like, Much more than the 5 below, but I had to narrow it down.. so..
Here we go & in no particular order:
Angelo from Final Haven. I think its a relatively new blog, But I just love the way he writes and his topics are always interesting. Sometimes I wish I could block some of the X rated topics he writes ๐ coz I don’t want my mother to be reading such topics ๐ But I like it a lot.
Fonzy from Fonzation. I’ve been a fan of his blog for a long time. He writes about everything, be it food, reviews or life and the experiences he’s been through which are almost advice-like posts. very consistent. definitely deserves this award.
1001 Kuwaiti Nights. I loved this blog and loved the blogger’s personality, you could tell she’s got loads of talent and great writing style. She’s very different from all the other blogs I’ve read, yet had very broad appeal. It was one of the very few bloggers that stood out from the first visit. Unfortunately she’s not blogging anymore.
Mark from 248am. I’ve been reading the guy’s posts since ‘Moblogging from Kuwait’ days. I remember stumbling across his blog through a search engine, not knowing what blogs are and being fascinated with his day to day photos and the little comments he leaves under the photos. Then one day there was Miskan which got me and my friendsย hooked. and finally 248am.com emerged. The commitment and consistency alone makes him so deserving of this award, But I think the undeniable influence he’s had on the Kuwaiti blogging community is what should be recognized.
Bojacub from Bojacob’s Den. The guy makes me laugh out loud! his blog is full of light hearted “geeky” posts and full of humor. I like his approach, and you gotta LOVE his motto: “When life throws you a n3al, you wear it.” ๐
Those blogs are, in my opinion, just some of the excellent blogs out there. Thanks again intlxpatr. ๐
Firefox are planning to set a Guinness World Record by orchestrating a download day for their much anticipated (not by me) Firefox 3. You can go to their website and read more about it, and maybe participate in the pledge yourself and sign up for a reminder. I did. Not sure why, knowing that I don’t use firefox… I think I just wanted to be part of this thing! ๐
Today i got a phone call from 9K2HN telling me that Amex now accepts online payments! Yes finally! i did login to my account and found this:
As you can see above they are accepting K-Net for Kuwait as an option, i didnt try it yet but according to 9K2HN the exchange rate was something around 0.269 which is fair in my opinion.
Here is a little silly website that enables you to change google’s interface and make it your own. It also have easy access links to various email services too like Gmail, Hotmail and 2 others. Give it a try HERE.ย
After 2 planes and a taxi we arrived at 9 something yesterday. We were all exhausted and wanted to sleep, but no, we had to get our rented car from europcar, and we did, then went to GรANT to stock up on everthing. Then finally returned back home, where I happily drifted out of consciousness.
I went outside, After taking a 2 hour nap, and took some pictures of the cherry tree near us. Labeeba, These pictures are for you ๐ I was planning on taking pictures of that tree even before anyone told me coz the cherries looked great!
i was reading Al-qabas news paper and found out that M.O.C is trying to ban Skype in Kuwait .. So i went to my phone and did some calls to the US but it’s still working! Has anyone any problem with his Skype account?!
Couple days ago me and Yousef decided to transfer our blog to wordpress.org so that we get more control and options on our blog but Yousef faced some issues such as the old posts?! How could we transfer them .. (( i mean the text and pictures)) coz now i think the only way we could is to transfer the text and uploading the pics manually for the old posts which will takes ages! So any one tried it? i mean to transfer from .COM to .ORG? whats the steps? and for the hosting we’re considering DreamHost.
I’m in frankfurt airport right now and waiting for my next flight to geneva. The flight took off as scheduled and was real smooth flight. I usually can’t sleep when i’m traveling, but this time I was asleep as soon as they turned off the lights. I remember thinking why can’t I sleep like every other person in the world! then it…. blurred… Zzzz… Breakfast! Thats it. Thats all I remember. I woke up, ate breakfast and took some photos and we landed.
The next flight is an hour and 10 minutes away, it should be a short flight, maybe an hour .
From now on and till I return to Kuwait, I’ll be posting from wherever I’m at. Nothing will change regarding my posting patterns, Maybe more colorful photos and better scenes ๐ but thats about it. Can’t wait to really use my camera.
A few days ago i was in my father’s in law house, and found out that Bashar got a full collection of Grendizer with traditional Arabic language. In my opinion it was one of the greatest cartoons ever, that have been translated to Arabic.
It’s a set of 4 DVD packages and each one has 3 – 4 DVD and according to Bashar they are of high quality.
You can order them from HERE, You can order any language you wish from this series.
BTW does anyone have any idea when it was first produced? i mean originally in Japan?
We’re very excited to share this month’s stats with you guys and would like to thank all of you, our readers, for the support you’ve shown, and would also like to thank those who have contributed to this site and helped us with their valuable comments & inputs.
Yesterday me & my wife were in Villaย Modaย and i spottedย TOM FORD boutique was under construction, By the way this brand and some more i’ve been introduced to after i got married ๐ Y3ani 3ady gabel amshy madry shino ohmaaa agool esh’hal markaat el mo ma3rofaa ๐
This place is relatively new to the scene, I think its been only 2 years since its opening check their contact info here to learn more about their services. I go there every time I need a haircut coz my favorite barber works there, he used to work somewhere else and when he told me he’s changing his work place I went along with him to this new place.
They offer massages, facials, manicure & pedicure and a lot of other things. I haven’t tried their massages yet, But I intend to have one.
The place is very well designed and have nicely set rooms for the facials and massages, I’ve taken a look inside and it looks great! soothing music, dimmed lights.. the whole nine yards.
I think this is the first place to have a real menu to select your kind of hair cut and shave and view their other services ๐
After getting an apointment using the online booking software, it costs 6 kd for a hair cut and 3 kd for a beard shave. I know its cost more than the regular barbershops but hey I go there once a month, so its okay.
Its located in Adaylia, near Kabab-ji restaurant. Tel. 2542807
