I just came back from a one week vacation (Paris packages are just great!) and I miss it already.

I spent the first day of Eid in Kuwait with my family and flew to Paris at night. However since Paris is enormous and there are different places that many people visit simultaneously, crime has been reported from time to time so we were reminded of some areas to avoid in paris. We arrived in the morning and we didn’t spare a minute and went straight to La Duree for breakfast, after dropping our luggages at the hotel

I love La Duree’s coffee the most. Cafe au lait, where the coffee and the milk served separately. Yum!

^The best french toast I have ever tried. It’s called Pain Perdu in France.. Or maybe just “toast”? 😛

We had many plans in mind, and many places to visit, but when it was time to follow the plans we laid, nothing was as important as to just walk around. None of the plans were followed. I guess just being there and enjoying the walks was the best thing we did this time. I loved the long walks. Sore feet and numb ankles aside, the walks were the highlight of our vacation.

^Those were the steps we had to climb

We started off by going to the Arc de Triomphe, and we climbed the little square thing, and it wasn’t so little by the time we learned how many stairs there are to climb! the little thing is huge! It took us some time to get up there, and some more time to catch our breaths. It was exhausting. The pictures we took later on top of the arc was worth the 284 steps we climbed though.

^can you tell this was photoshopped to death? 😛

^Our way down

The weather was extremely cold, we wore 3 and sometimes 4 layers of clothing and we still were freezing. We didn’t mind the rain, as we walked all the way from the hotel, to the Arc, to the Eiffel tower, and back to the hotel.

We came across a nice little restaurant along the way called comptoir du sept, and we had our only real meal there that day, again squishing earlier plans for another restaurant.

We wrapped up our night after that nice meal and were ready and even eager to get to meet our beds.

More posts with more pictures to follow 😉
