We won’t be suffering from traffic jams in the mornings for a good 3 months! No more ‘get out of the house an hour before work to dodge traffic’ until the 19th of september when schools start again. Till then, I’m gonna use that snooze button like crazy.
In regards to your post Oh-Oh Zain, this issue came-up after we have re-branded our Mishref branch and the violation is only about a small part of the branch front door.
We are now arranging with Mishref Co-op for the necessary actions to be taken in regards to this unexpected matter. I hope this clears everything to you and to your respectful blog readers.
I would also like to stress on that Zain welcomes valid feedbacks, comments, and questions through its various support channels.
Wishing you – and Mishary- all the best in your blog. Keep it up.”
I like it when people take criticism well. I’ve heard many horror stories about sponsors and their need to be glorified, and I’m glad this isn’t the case with Zain. I’m also glad they’re taking the necessary actions to solve this issue.
Turinah is an Indonesian woman who claims to be 157 years old. She’s from a small village in Sumatra and despite being so old, has no problems with her sight, hearing nor memory, and she speaks fluent dutch.
She has no official papers to prove her age, but going by her adopted daughter’s age, which is 108, there is a good chance she might be telling the truth about her own age. Which could mean she broke the age record that was set by Jeanne Calment who died in 1997 at the age of 122.
Helen Thomas started her career in 1943, She’s a journalist, a longtime White House correspondent, and a front-seater person at the press room in the WhiteHouse.
What happened? Well she has been attacked by an infuriated media after some comments she made about Israel and how they should get out of palestine and go back to europe. Her exacts words were:
“Israel should get the hell out of Palestine.”
“Remember, these people (Palestinians) are occupied, and it’s their land.”
And for saying those words, she was condemned by the (media-brainwashed) public and the media, which led her to announce her retirement. Her amazing career spanning 60 years was ended because of what she said.
The media is shocked over her comments, they’re outraged, they cannot fathom how someone would say anything bad about Israel. They believe in freedom of speech, they have different opinions, but when it comes to Israel, support should be unanimous! No one badmouth Israel! or at least no one gets away with it!
So Helen Thomas quitted her 6 decades job and I have a feeling that she’ll always be remembered, not for her accomplishments, but for having a controversial & offensive comments about Israel.
By the way, she apologized about her comments above and said:
“I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians, they do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.”

Ansam is one of the few people in the blogosphere we trust for having a great taste in food, and she just had a dessert named after her! Yep, Napket just named a frozen yogurt after her. The yogurt is called Ansam’s Icy Yogurt, it’s a watermelon icy yogurt flavor topped with pomegranate and a sprinkle of rose water.
It’s available at Napket starting today. Give it a try and let her know what you think!
This is like the ultimate World Cup calendar. It’s very well laid out and easy to navigate, and all the games are right there, no need for going from page to page and there isn’t much loading is involved.
I read The Lovely Bones a while ago and thought it wasn’t all that, but I remember thinking, while turning the last pages, that these tragic events should make for a great movie. It eventually did!
The movie is about a girl whose name was Salmon, yep just like the fish, Susie Salmon, and she was only 14 when she was murdered.
On December 6th of 1973, the teenage girl was on her way back home from school when she was leered by a familiar face, raped and then brutally murdered. Her family struggle to pull their lives together as they try to find her killer. She narrates the movie from up above, where she carefully watches every step her family, and her killer, make.
The movie was all around a great movie. You all have to watch it.
Note: Actor Stanley Tucci keeps on surprising me with his talent. He is absolutely great in this one. In Julie & Julia as well.
I spotted this sign today as I was leaving Chillis (I know..) but no one is paying it any attention and they seem like they’re having lots of fun swimming in that off limits beach.
Rue McClanahan, famous for her role as the mischievous Blanche Devaraux in the famous sitcom Golden Girls, has passed away thursday morning after a major stroke.
“McClanahan is the third of the four “Golden Girls” costars to pass away; Estelle Getty died at 84 in 2008 and Bea Arthur died at 86 in 2009. Betty White is now the sole surviving Girl”
Arabella, a grand project with an equally grand potential. It’s a project based around what most Kuwaitis love and adore and in some cases live for. it’s all about Food! and especially fine dining. The project promises the best restaurants, actually, in their words “the world’s best” cuisines, and the best atmospheres to create a great experience.
From their site: “If the search is for the best possible cuisines then look no further. Arabella has gathered the world’s best. It has created what may be considered “fine dining central”. All the “crème de la crème” of global cuisines offer their culinary genius here.”
The project will include: “37 indoor / outdoor units to serve as restaurants, cafés, bistros, coffee shops, fruit bars, sports bars, ice cream parlors, pastry shops, steakhouses, cold cut delis, burger joints, bakeries, a spa & health club, beauty shop, salon, and more…”
It’s located in AlBadaa area near Palms and Sas. The project isn’t a future plan or anything, it has started and is already under development. I don’t know when it’s going to finish though.
