THE COLONY, Texas, Nov. 14 – Pizza Inn, Inc. (Nasdaq: PZZI) today announced the signing of a multi-unit development agreement to open 20 new Pizza Inn restaurants in the country of Kuwait. Pizza Inn, famous for its made from scratch crusts, has awarded a master license agreement to the Raja Company W.I.I., based in Kuwait City, Kuwait, in a continuation of the brand’s expansion throughout the Middle East and into Asia.

Another franchise! Woohoo 🙂 I like that we take in a lot of franchises instead of trying to re-invent the wheel. By the same token, couldn’t some Kuwaiti who’s really good with cooking create a Kuwaiti-esque pizza restaurant? You know like Pizza Ma3booch? Or Izbaidi Brushcetta? Know what I mean?

The question is, who decides what is “habba” or not? I think if you make a Kuwaiti’zed restaurant and choose maybe 40 guys and 40 girls between the ages of 18 and 35 and get them specifically to come to it (and they have to be from a certain social background and they have to have a lot of connections) then you can have a “habba” even for a Kuwaiti restaurant. Because seriously it’s very strange which restaurants make it and which don’t in Kuwait. Sometimes I really feel it doesn’t depend on the tastiness of food.
