Taken from Dezeen:

“Saudi Arabia-based telecommunications company STC have designed a wireless internet router that can also be used to hold flowers.

STC (Saudi Telecom) was in need for a unique router design that would provoke a positive emotional response. Wireless internet, Voice over IP, land line telephone and wired DSL are all incorporated into this elegant device.”

If this is true then I hope it doesn’t get released in Kuwait coz a router/vase is so not what we’re looking for at the moment. I think it’s cool and important that they’re thinking different, but imo it’s more important to actually come up with cool ideas instead.

Check the comments here. Hilarious!

Thanks DVLz.

  2. Good post, I like your writing style! I’ve added https://somecontrast.com/blog/ to my feed reader, and will be reading your posts from now on. Just a quick question – did you design your header image yourself, or have it done professionally? If you had it done by a professional, who was it?

yousef…why isnt a router/vase not what were/you looking for in kuwait ?? i dont get you …this is a very very creative/innovative way of thinking …shit dude i never heard of any other BIG company in america or europe releasing something as cool and awesome as this ….Vodafone,AT&T and all those huge telecommunicatioons company …this is Unique!

Teeman Well, in my opinion its a stupid product because:

1-Design-wise: it looks like a nuclear power plant. I really don’t like the design (buttons, slots, logo…). it looks like a cheap plastic device.

    2-Hazardous: Water + electricity = disaster.

It is unique though, I’ll give you that, But I think it is unique for a reason… 🙂 and hopefully it’ll remain unique 😛

I think they meant using something like dried or plastic flowers, so no water is needed. With this sort of design you can boost the signal using few tools to make an antenna and stick it right in the center. It should look something like this or at least much better looking.
