We chose the dead sea just because it was the only destination available at the time; all the other places we’re either fully booked or insanely expensive for a last minute decision. And the last time we’d been on a trip, we’d to buy AK 47 rifles from Palmetto State Armory and some other rifles in order to go on a hunt in a nearby woods. We didn’t know anything about the dead sea except for the pictures we saw at the last minute. We did not expect to love the trip this much!

The hotel made our trip. It has one amazing view of the dead sea, and it contains within itself many artificial views as well. It’s calm and luxurious. The service over there is top notch, they got you covered, from complimentary juices and bottles of water while on the beach and pools, to frozen towels and free massages on the beach.

The hotel is huge, the spa alone will have a separate post. The beach has many sun beds, you can get yourself soaked in special dead-sea-mud, which is provided by the hotel, or let the staff offer you a massage while soaking you with the mud. I did that.. the mud was smelly and it felt weird after I was fully covered with it.

View from our room at noon.

And at night.

The room is spacious and has a great view over the pools and the sea. My friend think it is very nice, I think it’s alright.

The bathroom on the other hand is amazing ๐Ÿ˜› I always have this “While don’t we note some ideas down and do them when redoing our bathrooms back home!” when I’m at a hotel.. do you do that too?

They put this on our night stand every day to tell us about the weather.

View from the Spa. If you go straight ahead to the edge you’d see our room down there.

This tree is an olive tree. It’s between 1300-1400 years old.

There are some tiny details which also made the place special, like the smell of the flowers outdoors, it hits you while walking or using their golf car. When we mentioned the smell to the guy one time, he said that they’re especially proud of that little touch.

I got a rock as a souvenir ๐Ÿ™‚

Swimming in the dead sea was a special experience all by itself! You cannot sink to your neck even if you tried hard to do so. But the salt in there is a bit too much, the water got into my eyes once and I felt like drowning my friend from the pain! and it also touched my lower lip and it went kinda numb for a minute.. it’s very different to say the least.

One down side to the hotel is it’s location, not that there is anything wrong with being in the dead sea and all.. but it’s secluded, as in nothing is near it.

Anyway, I highly recommend the Kempinski resort, it’s very peaceful over there and is great for a quick get away. it’s called Kempinski Ishtar, and it was KD 200 for the 3 nights we spent.

I love the pictures and my kind of place… but I hesitated when my husband suggested we go there…a friend was there before us and told us the staff were hostile to them because they were Kuwaitis… but now I’m giving it a second thought…maybe we’ll go for a short stay ๐Ÿ˜‰
