I’m looking for a great pair of noise cancelling headphones, and I’ve read many reviews so far, a lot actually, and all of the reviews recommended the Bose Quiet Comfort 15 over any other wired headphones on the market when it came to Noise Cancelling. You’d think that would make the deciding process a bit easier, but it didn’t. The Bose QC15 while best at noise cancelling they’re not the best in audio quality.
I went down to XCite and found both the QC15 and Beats by Dr Dre headphones there (Yeah the Beats headphones are in consideration as well, simply coz they’re best when it comes to looks). The employee at Xcite was amazing, he let me try every headphone with an iPod and let me take my time to compare between headphones. I’m almost certain now that the QC15 is what I want the most, coz the noise cancelling is out of this world. One reviewer said it best: “it almost feels as if you’re at the bottom of a pool, almost completely shut off from the sounds above.” –Review. And when I tried it, I was convinced that the review didn’t overstate it’s noise cancelling ability one bit.. I was completely shut out from my surroundings and I couldn’t hear anything but my inhales and exhales.
I don’t know why the sound quality is bothering me though. I haven’t sensed the shortcoming myself, actually I thought they were excellent, but the reviews aren’t agreeing with me.. Other than that, I think they’re perfect.
Any suggestions?
STAY AWAY FROM BEATS BY DRE. trust me.
I bought mine 2 years ago and i love them! don’t regret it at all!
“Bose QuietComfort® 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones @ $314”

beats by dre have a new headphone.. beats pro coming soon… wait for it its worth it!!

kwt23 really? I read many bad things about it too.. from it’s indurable material to it’s weak noise cancelling capabilities.. I think I’m gonna stay away.
nemo I tried the QC3 and they’re good, except the QC15 is much better at noise cancelling and looks a bit better too.
bu ‘3azy I’m waiting for the reviews to come in coz it should be released anytime now. but from what I’ve read so far and experienced, the Bose are far better at it than Beats by Monster. I don’t know..
ibrahim Bainy o bainik.. I tried the Bose QC15 at Xcite, and imo they look ok but the feel is definitely cheap 🙂 but they’re very good at what they’re made for.
Bose are rubbish! Don’t know the others. Consider ‘Sennheiser PXC 450’. My brother bought them and I tried them on a flight. Bulky but FANTASTIC!

BOSE in ear headphones. best of its class. no noise cancelling though. but amazing sound quality, proper amount of bass, very comfy fit.
I went through the same dilemma and tried all of them I used to own a pair of Seinheisers for traveling and I generally travel on lonnnnnng flights so i needed something that goes over my ear and not on them (so that you can wear them for longer than 2 hours) and I was lucky enough (blessed really!!) to stumble on the Audio Technica Noise canceling headphones, more reasonable than the bose but more imprtantly the sound quality is amazing and the noise canceling is as good as the bose, also they fold and come in an amazing travel pouch.
