I heard that lots of people were annoyed that this hasn’t come to Kuwait yet, and they’ve struggled over the years to buy it off the net and import it and stuff. Well Bath & Body Works is opening soon at the avenues, near D.Lush, so rejoice!
It’s brought over by AlShaya group, and I’ve been told that AlShaya owns it’s right for the whole Middle east. If that proves to be true, then expect it to pop all around the gulf area.
It’s official, Mission Impossible 4 starring Tom Cruise will be filmed partially in Dubai. Dubai’s media officials have announced after many meetings and location scouting that Dubai would be one of the main locations for filming the next Mission Impossible, along with Prague and Vancouver.

Combined with moderate exercise, read the Java burn review, understand the testosterone therapy produces significant weight loss in men with lower-than-normal levels. Correcting the amount of testosterone in your body helps you maintain lean mass as you shed body fat. Managing your weight is a big part of your health. When you are overweight or obese, you’re at risk for medical conditions like heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure (hypertension) and diabetes. Weight loss can often be achieved through a healthy diet and exercise. In some cases, weight loss surgeries are used, but these also involved changing your lifestyle to keep the weight off. Prevent most tooth decay conditions easily with steel bite pro.
What is weight control?
Weight control is a term used to discuss managing and maintaining a healthy body weight. Having a healthy body weight can mean different things for different people. The traditional way this weight is calculated is with the body mass index (BMI). Your BMI uses your height and weight to figure out your ideal weight range. This number can vary, but typically, you are considered obese if your BMI is over 30.
Your waist line can also be a sign of obesity. For a woman, a healthy waist measurement should fall below 35 inches. For a man, it should be less than 40 inches. This measurement is called your waist circumference.
When talking about waist circumference, it’s also good to discuss body shapes. People have all different body shapes. Some are an hourglass, with shoulders and hips around the same size but a smaller waist. Some are pear-shaped, with smaller measurements on the top and larger on the bottom. If you have an apple-shape — also nicknamed ‘potbelly,’ ‘spare tire’ or ‘muffin-top’ — you carry more fat in and around your abdominal organs. Having this extra fat in your abdomen can increase your risk of many serious medical conditions that are linked to obesity.
What’s the difference between being overweight and being obese?
Both terms mean that you have excess body fat, but they are two different levels of a similar thing. Being overweight means that you have some extra fat. Although you are higher than your goal weight, you don’t have as much body fat as the next level — obesity. When you have high levels of body fat, it’s considered obesity. This is typically determined by your primary care physician during an appointment. Talk to your physician about the differences between being overweight and obese and what that means for your body type. Check out the latest exipure real reviews.
Why does obesity happen?
Obesity happens when your calorie intake is higher than the amount of energy you burn off each day. Think of the food you eat as fuel. This fuel is meant to power you and as you move throughout your day, you burn off this fuel. However, if you take in too much fuel, it isn’t burned off. This just sits in your body, not serving its purpose.
There can be many reasons why weight gain happens, and often it’s more than one reason at a time. Some of the factors that can add to weight control issues include:
Environmental factors: Lifestyle behaviors, like what you eat and how active you are on an average day, can impact your weight.
Psychological factors: Eating can be linked to your emotions. We eat to celebrate something good and we eat to grieve something sad. The emotional side of food can lead to things like eating due to depression, anxiety, boredom and binge eating. Binge eating is when you eat a large amount of food at one time, while often feeling out of control of how much you eat.
Genetic and Environmental factors: Obesity can run in your family. This means that if you have family members who are overweight or obese, you might have an increased risk. It’s unclear if this is from your genetic code, or lifestyle behaviors (diet and exercise) that are passed down through generations. However, many people with family members who are overweight are not themselves overweight.
Medical conditions: Sometimes, a medical condition or medication can actually lower your metabolism (ability to burn calories into energy), which can cause obesity. Medications like steroids and antidepressants can cause weight gain. Medical conditions can include:
Hypothydroidism.
Cushing’s syndrome.
Depression.
Certain neurologic problems.
Can being overweight lead to medical problems in the future?
Your weight can play a large role in your health over time. Being overweight is linked to several health problems, including:
Heart disease and stroke.
High blood pressure (hypertension).
Diabetes.
Certain cancers.
Gallbladder issues and gallstones.
Osteoarthritis.
Gout.
Breathing problems, such as sleep apnea (when you stop breathing for a short amount of time during sleep).
Generally, the more obese a person is, the higher the risk of developing a medical condition. A person who is 40% overweight is twice as likely to die prematurely as an average-weight person. This typically happens over a number of years with a higher weight (10 to 30 years). Losing the weight can really benefit your health, both now and in the long term.
Many physicians who specialize in obesity believe that people who are less than 20% above their healthy weight should try to lose weight if they have any of the following risk factors:
A family history of certain chronic diseases: These can include conditions like heart disease and diabetes.
A pre-existing medical condition: Health conditions like high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol and high blood sugar levels are all warning signs of some obesity-associated diseases.
Having a body shape that’s considered apple-shaped: If you carry excess weight around your abdomen, you could be at a higher risk of developing heart disease, diabetes or cancer than people of the same weight who are pear-shaped.
Pizzetta is owned by the same chef who owns both Prime & Toast, and Bistro 86. That intro, or background info in my case, was enough to lure me in and have me head over heals for the place.
We arrived at 9pm and we were only 2, but we knew we’ve got to order more than enough food so that we could really judge the food and taste everything, and also coz we heard the portions are little in this place.
We ordered:
Appetizers:
Deep fried, Mushroom & cheese stuffed Ravioli.
Pizzetta (smaller version of a pizza): Buffalo Mozzarella, with Basil paste, sun dried tomatoes and grilled asparagus.
Mini Beef Lasagna Pot.
Pizza Margarita (half margarita, half mushroom).
Main Dish:
Mushroom Ravioli.
Veal stuffed Ravioli (I ordered the pan seared lamb chops first, but I had to choose something else coz they were out of chops).
Now let me get down to business and talk about the food.
The starters, we got our deep fried ravioli first, it was delicious. The stuffing tasted really good, it was stuffed with mushrooms, ricotta cheese and Philadelphia cheese. Creamy, cheesy, mushroomy, what not to love? One issue though, I had to cut off the empty edges off. There was just too much of an empty space in that ravioli.
Then we somehow got our main dish. Whoops. 3 other starters arrived AFTER the main dish. We got many apologies, but that didn’t make it up. Off to a bad start. But for the sake of this review I’m gonna go by the order I had in mind.
The Pizzetta tasted like something I came up with in the chalet with not enough ingredients. It was amateurish at best. Nothing was special about it except for the crust. I loved the crust. Oh and we had to correct the seasoning ourselves (ma9kha) we had to use the salt shaker a lot.
The Mini Beef Lasagna Pot. Cute. Loved the presentation, and had big hopes. But that changed with the first bite. The lasagna could’ve tasted great, I mean it had great potential just by how it smelled, but they had to mess it up by adding some herb that ruined the meat tomato sauce at the bottom! I don’t know what it was, but it tasted like burned cardamom, I’m not sure if that was it, but that’s what I got.
Pizza Margarita. Just like the Pizzetta, the tomato sauce was a huge turnoff. I mean I asked my friend when we tasted their margarita about the sauce and what was wrong about it, and he said “Nothing’s wrong with it, except we could’ve made a much better sauce at home.” And that was it. Nothing’s wrong about it, it’s just not good enough.
The Mushroom Ravioli was the exact same ravioli we had as an appetizer, but it was boiled and served with cream and basil instead. It tasted so so.
The Veal stuffed Ravioli with mushroom juice was nice, not great, it fell apart every time I tried to pick it up with the fork.
As you can see, it was a big disappointment. I mean, just next door is Prime & Toast; one of the best spaghetti Bolognese pastas is served there. Right next door! Pizzetta is owned by the same chef as Bistro 86! One of the best emerging restaurants of last year! There was no excuse why our experience at Pizzetta was such an awful one.

I thought there is a rule about a minimum of 3 months till expiry for items to be still at shelves for sale? coz this item pictured had only 2 months till it expires and it’s still sitting on the shelves.
I just searched around in the internet and couldn’t find anything about it. Is there a rule about expiry dates in Kuwait?
If you need a real good laugh then you must watch this video. It’s a bit loud, you must turn down the volume, not all the way, just a little bit, and forward to 2:10.
“These four Filipino dudes have such a complete hysterical freakout when their representative Maria Venus Raj makes the top 15 in the Miss Universe pageant, they can’t help but shriek, jump, hug, text and type out of joy.”
“The Kuwaiti and Saudi nationals will be able to use smart cards to enter each other’s country through the official crossing points in line with the travel laws and their executive statutes.
“Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have signed yesterday an agreement allowing their nationals to use smart ID cards instead of passports to cross the joint borders. The deal will take force only one month after being signed by Kuwaiti Minister of Interior Lt-Gen (rtd) Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and Saudi Arabia’s Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Prince Nayif Bin-Abdulaziz Al-Saud.”
This line kinda cracked me up:
“The deal will greatly facilitate the movement of citizens of the t
wo sisterly countries; it sets example for what the ties between neighbors should be”
It “sets” an example? You mean in the middle east right? coz europe have been setting countless examples for the past 30 years, and the travel between 2 ‘sisterly’ countries thingi have been set a long time ago.

The black and white photograph, taken in 1977 when Berlusconi was an emerging industrialist, has been discovered in the archives of a photographer during a clear-out.
‘At the time I remember I didn’t like it and I had put it to one side. My boss had given me as assignment to shoot Berlusconi for a media magazine and I said: “Who is he?”‘
‘My boss told me: “He’s about to buy il Giornale (a newspaper) and open a TV station. Mark my words he will be talked about for a long time to come.”‘”
Almost two weeks ago I bought Kensington’s bluetooth keyboard iPad Case, and used it for almost 10 days. It really felt like I was using a little notebook.
After using it for a while and carrying it around, I must say that the keyboard makes the whole thing bulky, almost negates the idea behind the iPad. Some may wonder why didn’t I get a little laptop instead then if I wanted a real keyboard? Well, I think having the mobility of the iPad is nice, and then having the keyboard option whenever I feel like it, is even nicer.
I passed by today and was told by the waiter that they’ve just released a new flavor, chocolate, and it is awesome. I sampled it and I thought it was awful. It tastes like something between a real good chocolate icecream and a bad dark chocolate. Read the rest of this entry »
Have you watched the movie yet? Julie & Julia? You have to. Great acting and great food.
My friend and I were hoping that we could skim through Julia Child’s book, pick a few easy recipes, and then cook a single dish every weekend. Well we were a bit too optimistic. Why? Because Julia cooks like crazy. She uses multiple pans, multiple pots, and lots of ingredients that had to be cooked separately, then added together in the most intricate way possible, and that my friends goes beyond what I’m capable of. I don’t have that kind of patience and I don’t like work for hours and end up eating the dish in 10 minutes. It’s frustrating. But anyway, we ended up doing 2 very simple and easy recipes, and hit gold with 1 of them.
We made:
Cream of Mushroom soup.
Crêpes.
The Cream of Mushroom soup took around 2 hours, 4 pans and pots minimum, lots of shouting, many helpers.. And a great deal of patience. It tasted amazing, a bit salty, we forgot to count in the salt in the chicken stock, but that didn’t stop it from being a success. We all loved it.
The Crêpes recipe on the other hand was extremely simple, and it is just the most practical and tasty thing on the entire book in my opinion. It’s fun too, I loved flipping the Crêpes with the pan. It takes less than 10 minutes of preparation time and 2 hours in the fridge and it’s done. Smashing success.
I’ll be posting those recipes with pictures once I feel like editing all of those pictures (they’ve been in my iPhoto since mid Ramadan).
For now, why don’t you go to Julie Powell’s blog (as in the blog that started it all), and read through it.
Now this is funny! Carlsberg as a sponsor for Kuwait’s national youth team? The goal keeper should’ve known better than to wear a shirt with carlsberg logo on it, on an official game.
I heard they made quite a fuss about it on AlRai newspaper.
Update:
Alrai’s article. I feel sorry for the goalkeeper after reading the article.
