I was reading about Israel trying its spy planes and Iran testing its missiles, both in an attempt to prove their capabilities and seriousness, and as usual, I started going from page to page hitting every interesting link in sight, and then an hour later I was reading about world war II. (I did not know that over 70 million people died at that war!).
After finishing reading about WW2, I saw the word holocaust (whenever I see or hear this word the first thing that comes to mind is the word “lie.” I don’t know why exactly. I think I’ve heard or read somewhere a discussion about whether the holocaust really did take place or not.. How could something this big be a source of confusion to anyone is beyond me.. But the conspiracy theorist in me loves to have an Insider information, I think thats why this info never left my mind) so I clicked on holocaust’s link. I did not know that not only jews were included in the genocide, but also “several million Soviet prisoners of war, along with slave laborers, gay men, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the disabled, and political opponents,” were killed. I ended up reading some quotes that kept me thinking. I’ll share them now and then ask my questions. The quotes are:
1- Hitler dubbed the holocaust as “Final Solution of the Jewish Question.”
2- “Prior to the beginning of World War II, during a speech given on January 30, 1939, Hitler foretold the coming Holocaust of European Jewry when he said:
“Today I will once more be a prophet: If the international Jewish financiers in and outside Europe should succeed in plunging the nations once more into a world war, then the result will not be the Bolshevization of the earth, and thus the victory of Jewry, but the annihilation of the Jewish race in Europe!””
3- “In his diary entry of December 13, 1941, the day after Hitler’s private speech, Joseph Goebbels wrote:
“Regarding the Jewish Question, the Führer is determined to clear the table. He warned the Jews that if they were to cause another world war, it would lead to their own destruction. Those were not empty words. Now the world war has come. The destruction of the Jews must be its necessary consequence. We cannot be sentimental about it. It is not for us to feel sympathy for the Jews. We should have sympathy rather with our own German people. If the German people have to sacrifice 160,000 victims in yet another campaign in the east, then those responsible for this bloody conflict will have to pay for it with their lives.””
Now regarding the 1st quote “Final” solution? what is the problem they’re trying to solve? Were there any other solutions? Why is it expressed in such anger and finality?
The second quote, Why is he threatening the jews? Did they start the 1st world war? are they famous within germany for staring up wars? or is it pure hatred toward them?
The 3rd quote, we now learn, according to this guy’s diary, that WW2 already took place and is still going, that the jews were indeed responsible for it and they must meet their fate; Hitler’s promise of extermination, right? I read about WW2 and did not read anywhere that the jews started the war or were a cause. Have I missed something?
All information and quotes were taken from wikipedia.
I received an email today from Swisscom telling me the 3G iPhone is going to be released the day after tomorrow. I read their page and I think it says that I can’t buy one without subscribing with their service. How am I supposed to buy this thing without letting them charge my visa for 12 or 24 months? I know there must be a way but at the moment I just don’t get the whole thing. Read their subscription’s details HERE.
I like how sometimes its “I don’t need this piece of chocolate, I can totally live without chocolates” and some other times “I want chocolates. Any kind. Now.”
I don’t care much for desserts. Normally I would just buy chocolate bars from the supermarket and leave them. My passion lies in the savory dishes. But when I have those very few and far between cravings for dessert, mainly chocolates, I stop paying attention to quantities. Bad habbit, I’m aware. Oh well.

When I first discovered foret noir, or black forest, the cake (duh), I was not so fond of it. What is there to like anyway? it is supposed to be some kind of a chocolate cake that doesn’t taste quite like chocolate, it has this sour syrup that everybody on this earth hates with a vengeance, and its covered with this thin layer of cheap whipping cream (the ones I tried are cheap) then covered again with something that is supposed to look and taste like chocolate flakes. It is hatable. Almuhaissin, I think, is one of the main reasons why I’ve always hated the black forest, the other reason being the egyptian movies and the way they pronounce it’s name; belack foorest.
Anyway. I discovered this AMAZING cafe (actually, I didn’t discover anything. Mom took me to this cafe 2 years ago and made me try their foret noir) their foret noir is nothing like almuhaissin’s! its nothing like any other black forest i have ever tasted. First of all they got it right and won major points for cutting that sour syrup out of the recipe, then they scored even more points for including a chocolate paste (is it called paste? its a layer of melted chocolate) that works perfectly with the cake, very subtly sweet, it adds this whole other dimension to the otherwise boring cake and it kind of redefines the cake. Then there is the award winning whipped cream layer which takes it to a new level.
Someone threw a hat at Amy winehouse’s head during her performance and she thought it was the guy in front of her trying to pull her hair (wig). So, she reacted just like any other person would react infront of 80,000 people, she elbowed the guy and then punched him several times just to make sure she got him.
I’m surprised though at how well the fan is taking it. He’s not thinking of suing and not even mad at the singer. Click HERE to watch the interview with punched fan.
“Rumor has it that there is renewed interest in bringing the six fabulously perky and quirky New Yorkers to the big screen. You can either thank or blame “Sex and the City” for this news. The success of that franchise’s recent flick reportedly inspired the cast to bring their beloved sitcom back from the dead.”
Personally, I can’t wait for this rumor to come true. No matter how awful it turns out there won’t be a harm in watching, right?

Actifed Duo is one of the best allergy medicines I have ever tried, even better than the mighty Zyrtec. It has double effect, acting as both an allergy drug and a running nose’s. I also love it coz I don’t feel drowsy/sleepy after taking a pill.
This guy is in Guinness world records for most scissors used for a haircut. He says that he can control each scissor individually and they all help him accomplish a more interesting look.
Apparently its not going to be so out of the question to buy a new and officially unlocked iphone in the US.
“Apple’s popular iPhone can be yours, no contract required. But there’s a catch — and a pricey one at that.
AT&T yesterday announced that it will offer the smartphone to people who want to use another carrier, starting at $599.
The iPhone 3G, scheduled for a July 11 release, will be available for $199 to new AT&T customers or existing customers eligible for an upgrade — under a two-year contract. The larger-capacity 16-gigabyte model will cost $299 under the same conditions.
For those looking to use another carrier, the 16-gigabyte version will cost $699.”
Ouch! $699 instead of $299 just to buy it without the AT&T contract!?
Am I the only one who still listens to the Aladdin soundtrack? I especially enjoy it when I can’t sleep, I just put it on and try to sleep and it usually works.. I love this soundtrack. To date I think it hasn’t lost it’s touch and is still fresh.
Speaking of sleeplessness.. Don’t you hate people who can’t sleep while the TV is on? I have a friend who cannot sleep with the TV or ANYTHING else on. Let me explain further more.. This friend of mine cannot sleep if the receiver displays the time, the bathroom-boiler’s light is on, the space under the door is letting light in, the mobile’s tiny light is blinking or the window’s shutter is not fully shut. Now, in all honesty, don’t you think people, like my friend, should get a training course on how to properly use their eyelids? 😛
I used to have issues sleeping, but it wasn’t the little details that made a difference to me. To me it’s about comfort. If the temperature isn’t just right I’ll have a lot of trouble sleeping. If I’m not laying on a comfortable place I probably won’t be able to sleep no matter how peaceful my surroundings are. Eventually I noticed this fact fully, and how it applied to myself. I got myself a black friday memory foam mattress, as I heard that those were the ones that could really make a difference for comfort. Well, they were right. I’ve been using mine for years and when I decide it’s time to get a new one I will get another just like it, if not better. I’ve also been taking medication from EU Meds, and it got rid of all of my sleeping problems instantly.
Mont Salève (1380m) is in france right next to the swiss borders. Its one of the nearest mountains to geneva and once you’re up there, you’ll have a panoramic view of geneva and all the cities next to it. I think I can see all the way to lausanne (I think Montreux is blocked by the Mountains near Evian).
You can go up there either by using the Telepherique (Cable car) or by car. I prefer using the car, gives a sense of adventure (I’m afraid of heights). We went there last week, by car ofcourse, my brother was in the driver’s seats, driving the manual car (which makes our heads go back and fourth with every gear shift!). The trip took less than 15 minutes. There is a little cafe on top (many cafes) which overlooks the whole thing and just a few meters away from the cafe there is this flying-edge where (crazy people, as mom would refer to them, elmeyaneen) jump off and fly with their parachutes.
This is the stadium where some of the UEFA games were held.
There is this tiny little restaurant in Movenpick Hotel called Al Dente. It can easily be overlooked by everybody who hasn’t been in and ate one of its various dishes. Its little, the decoration is so so, and its in Movenpick. As you can see the odds that can come between you and one of the better italian restaurants in Kuwait.
I’ve been to this restaurant countless times. I like it because its not too crowded but I can almost always find one of my friends there, Uuni, Igneus and others, all stop by after work on a regular basis. The one thing even more consistent than my friends is the pasta; and I can have the sauce my way, which is a thing I really appreciate in an italian restaurant. I always order their pasta (whatever kind I feel like when I visit) with the cream sauce, I love their cream sauce, its heavy so I always make sure that I stay away from any kind of appetizers just to make enough space for the main course. Recently my friend introduced me to a new kind of creamy sauce, it’s pink, a mixture of white and red sauce (I think they call it rosa?). Anyway, I usually ask the chef to be generous when using olive oil and garlic while making the pasta. (I just ate a pizza, I’m really not happy describing food).
The service is excellent and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, not great. The place is small and chances are everybodys gonna hear your conversations (but that happens everywhere in Kuwait coz Kuwaitis have it in their blood to eavesdrop, so it’s ok).
Score: 4 Out of 5.
Al Dente is located in Movenpick Hotel in Shuwaikh’s Free trade zone, near Villa Moda. Phone # 4610033.

Every year Mom goes to the botanic shop near us and buys some more hydrangea plants to replace the old and dying ones. Sometimes she buys 2 and sometimes more, depending on how bad/good last year’s plants are holding up. When I’m here when and we go to the botanic, I always try my best to steer her away from buying the same flowers. Instead, I kept telling her to consider the top back pack sprayers in 2020 that are really useful for the garden, I try and try AND try! but to no avail. I don’t know what is it with these flowers and I don’t know why all the other gardens around us have this same flowers. these and the lavender. Once the mission to buy a different plant this year failed (failed miserably. We bought 3 new hydrangeas!) I insisted on buying these little dividers/partitions just so I would feel like I made a tiny difference this time 😛
