We have a reader, `zEzO !, who is a beginner in photography like myself. He has some photos he’d like to share with rest of us so we can all help provide some kind of critique. Here are his photos:
Look into the gallery and make sure post your comment, tell him what you think.
As you may already know, I’ve been looking everywhere for hotspots because of my internet problem, and I came across this interesting website recently that offers you a list of free hotspots all over the world. Take a look HERE.
A picture of Evian’s lakeshore. (yep in HDR π )
We went to Evian and I made sure this time to visit their source of free Evian water. They park their cars infront of this little water fountain and fill up their empty bottles, costing them nothing but the gas money to drive up to this place. which is very near the center of the town anyway.
It doesn’t stop running, 24/7. fisag.
These 2 ladies were there filling their bottles. I asked and they didn’t mind me taking pictures.
Me, pouring and refilling the bottle a hundred times π and it was COLD! just the way I hate it.. makes my teeth ache.
This is the Evian water museum.
Samples of the bottles old and new and their entire collection of Evian products.
Today we were discussing this issue in my father’s in law house, yes how come our airport got a duty free shops and our country doesn’t apply taxes?! i went to Wikipedia and double checked “Duty free” definition and came out with this:
This is exciting π Our dear friend intlxpatr from Here There and Everywhere have honored us with this amazing award, Arte Y Pico Award. Thanks intlxpatr! π
Now there are some rules and some choices I had to make after receiving this award. The rules are:
1. Pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog.
3. Each award winner (upon acceptance) should show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award.
4. Show the link of Arte y Pico blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. Show these rules.
Now, I have many many more blogs that I like, Much more than the 5 below, but I had to narrow it down.. so..
Here we go & in no particular order:
Angelo from Final Haven. I think its a relatively new blog, But I just love the way he writes and his topics are always interesting. Sometimes I wish I could block some of the X rated topics he writes π coz I don’t want my mother to be reading such topics π But I like it a lot.
Fonzy from Fonzation. I’ve been a fan of his blog for a long time. He writes about everything, be it food, reviews or life and the experiences he’s been through which are almost advice-like posts. very consistent. definitely deserves this award.
1001 Kuwaiti Nights. I loved this blog and loved the blogger’s personality, you could tell she’s got loads of talent and great writing style. She’s very different from all the other blogs I’ve read, yet had very broad appeal. It was one of the very few bloggers that stood out from the first visit. Unfortunately she’s not blogging anymore.
Mark from 248am. I’ve been reading the guy’s posts since ‘Moblogging from Kuwait’ days. I remember stumbling across his blog through a search engine, not knowing what blogs are and being fascinated with his day to day photos and the little comments he leaves under the photos. Then one day there was Miskan which got me and my friendsΒ hooked. and finally 248am.com emerged. The commitment and consistency alone makes him so deserving of this award, But I think the undeniable influence he’s had on the Kuwaiti blogging community is what should be recognized.
Bojacub from Bojacob’s Den. The guy makes me laugh out loud! his blog is full of light hearted “geeky” posts and full of humor. I like his approach, and you gotta LOVE his motto: “When life throws you a n3al, you wear it.” π
Those blogs are, in my opinion, just some of the excellent blogs out there. Thanks again intlxpatr. π
Firefox are planning to set a Guinness World Record by orchestrating a download day for their much anticipated (not by me) Firefox 3. You can go to their website and read more about it, and maybe participate in the pledge yourself and sign up for a reminder. I did. Not sure why, knowing that I don’t use firefox… I think I just wanted to be part of this thing! π
Here is a little silly website that enables you to change google’s interface and make it your own. It also have easy access links to various email services too like Gmail, Hotmail and 2 others. Give it a try HERE.Β
We’re very excited to share this month’s stats with you guys and would like to thank all of you, our readers, for the support you’ve shown, and would also like to thank those who have contributed to this site and helped us with their valuable comments & inputs.
This place is relatively new to the scene, I think its been only 2 years since its opening check their contact info here to learn more about their services. I go there every time I need a haircut coz my favorite barber works there, he used to work somewhere else and when he told me he’s changing his work place I went along with him to this new place.
They offer massages, facials, manicure & pedicure and a lot of other things. I haven’t tried their massages yet, But I intend to have one.
The place is very well designed and have nicely set rooms for the facials and massages, I’ve taken a look inside and it looks great! soothing music, dimmed lights.. the whole nine yards.
I think this is the first place to have a real menu to select your kind of hair cut and shave and view their other services π
After getting an apointment using the online booking software, it costs 6 kd for a hair cut and 3 kd for a beard shave. I know its cost more than the regular barbershops but hey I go there once a month, so its okay.
Its located in Adaylia, near Kabab-ji restaurant. Tel. 2542807
We were at the barber today and I told my cousin about Skype and how we can use the software to talk to each others while I’m away through audio chat and how its a good software for chatting…etc. Then someone there told my cousin that they sell skype credits in Alshamiya Co-op. For those of you who use this program but can’t buy credits online coz of their credit cards not being american issued, this info could really be helpful, if proved to be true. He said just go to Alshamiya co-op and ask for the skype cards and they’ll tell you where to find em.
Can anyone confirm this info? And can Skype credits be bought anywhere else in Kuwait?
Yes we have them! We have some mango trees in our home and yesterday INM spotted some mangos in them. I didn’t know that some day they might give us some mangos.. especially with our kid of nearly 50’s degrees’ weather!
We woke up around 9 and went to this indian restaurant which is about 15 minutes away from the chalet. It was my first time to eat there, they used to bring food from the resaurant for dinner or lunch, but I never went there myself.
The Baith 6oma6 (Eggs with Tomatoes) was gewd. Their Tea with milk was good too, but not as good as the UAE’s Karak I used to drink in Sharjah.
I’m not a big fan of Alanis Morissette I just like listening to her debut album every now and then. I think she wrote great songs on that album, and she seemed to have lots of potential especially if she wrote that many hits for her debut, you’d think with the success she’s had that year and how hungry she seemed for success, she’d become a hit machine. But she released many albums after that one that did nothing to me, I liked non of them, maybe just a couple of singles and her unplugged album, but not a single album came close to her debut imo.
With this new album things are different, I don’t know what she’s doing differently, but I find her interesting again. I like atleast 3 songs up to know and my favorite being Underneath & Moratorium.
Listen to Underneath:

Few days ago i got this email from INM telling me that these pics was taken long ago (i dont know the year exactly) when the KOC (Kuwait Oil Company) was operated by BP (British Petroleum).
They were distributing those houses for their employees and one of them was this British guy who have taken some pics of his family. Nowadays those houses are being remodeled with help from Bell Roofing Company.
What i want to show you is how LOVELY and beautiful the house was. Check out how they are so organized
