My family have announced that they’re boycotting each and every overpriced piece of vegetable on the market. That announcement was made by my Father yesterday, and therefor we’re now officially a part of the “خلوها تخيس” (let it rot) campaign.

I listen to the best songs while the iPod’s on shuffle. Just today as I was starting my long drive back, I turned the iPod to shuffle, and it picked the best songs, one by one. I have a great collection that I almost never listen to.
I discovered Awath Dookhi’s song (scroll down) last week, I didn’t know I had it in the iPod, and since having my first listen last week I can’t seem to get enough of it. It was picked by my iPod today too, while on shuffle mode.
I’ve always wondered why he عوض دوخي got famous? and I always thought the reason was that there was no competition back then and people didn’t know any better.. Boy was I wrong. He is soothing, full of emotions and have great vocals to back the great music and lyrics. Thats why people loved him back then and still do.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
The song is a grower, give it a chance, and try using the shuffle mode more often 🙂

The Mutubtub campaign team for child obesity have sent us the following to share it with you guys:
Obesity has ranked Kuwait on the charts among the top ten most obese countries in the world. To fight this, Mutubtub the national child obesity campaign is going to be launching soon and you should take part in it. 40 percent of Kuwaiti children and 74.2 percent of the whole population are diagnosed with obesity and should be on diet pills. Combined with moderate exercise, read the Java burn review, understand the testosterone therapy produces significant weight loss in men with lower-than-normal levels. Correcting the amount of testosterone in your body helps you maintain lean mass as you shed body fat. When you start taking testosterone supplements, the hormone testosterone (T) adds more muscle cells to your muscle mass. Dense muscles and high T levels stop your body from storing as much fat and help you burn calories efficiently. You can ask your doctor which is the best testosterone supplements depending your age, sex and goals allowing you not only to boost your workout routine but also the results from it, try the Revitaa pro if you are looking for a good weight loss supplement.

Weight Control and Obesity
Managing your weight is a big part of your health. When you are overweight or obese, you’re at risk for medical conditions like heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure (hypertension) and diabetes. Weight loss can often be achieved through a healthy diet and exercise. In some cases, weight loss surgeries are used, but these also involved changing your lifestyle to keep the weight off. Prevent most tooth decay conditions easily with steel bite pro.
What is weight control?
Weight control is a term used to discuss managing and maintaining a healthy body weight. Having a healthy body weight can mean different things for different people. The traditional way this weight is calculated is with the body mass index (BMI). Your BMI uses your height and weight to figure out your ideal weight range. This number can vary, but typically, you are considered obese if your BMI is over 30.
Your waist line can also be a sign of obesity. For a woman, a healthy waist measurement should fall below 35 inches. For a man, it should be less than 40 inches. This measurement is called your waist circumference.
When talking about waist circumference, it’s also good to discuss body shapes. People have all different body shapes. Some are an hourglass, with shoulders and hips around the same size but a smaller waist. Some are pear-shaped, with smaller measurements on the top and larger on the bottom. If you have an apple-shape — also nicknamed ‘potbelly,’ ‘spare tire’ or ‘muffin-top’ — you carry more fat in and around your abdominal organs. Having this extra fat in your abdomen can increase your risk of many serious medical conditions that are linked to obesity.
What’s the difference between being overweight and being obese?
Both terms mean that you have excess body fat, but they are two different levels of a similar thing. Being overweight means that you have some extra fat. Although you are higher than your goal weight, you don’t have as much body fat as the next level — obesity. When you have high levels of body fat, it’s considered obesity. This is typically determined by your primary care physician during an appointment. Talk to your physician about the differences between being overweight and obese and what that means for your body type. Check out the latest exipure real reviews.
Why does obesity happen?
Obesity happens when your calorie intake is higher than the amount of energy you burn off each day. Think of the food you eat as fuel. This fuel is meant to power you and as you move throughout your day, you burn off this fuel. However, if you take in too much fuel, it isn’t burned off. This just sits in your body, not serving its purpose.
There can be many reasons why weight gain happens, and often it’s more than one reason at a time. Some of the factors that can add to weight control issues include:
- Environmental factors: Lifestyle behaviors, like what you eat and how active you are on an average day, can impact your weight.
- Psychological factors: Eating can be linked to your emotions. We eat to celebrate something good and we eat to grieve something sad. The emotional side of food can lead to things like eating due to depression, anxiety, boredom and binge eating. Binge eating is when you eat a large amount of food at one time, while often feeling out of control of how much you eat.
- Genetic and Environmental factors: Obesity can run in your family. This means that if you have family members who are overweight or obese, you might have an increased risk. It’s unclear if this is from your genetic code, or lifestyle behaviors (diet and exercise) that are passed down through generations. However, many people with family members who are overweight are not themselves overweight.
- Medical conditions: Sometimes, a medical condition or medication can actually lower your metabolism (ability to burn calories into energy), which can cause obesity. Medications like steroids and antidepressants can cause weight gain. Medical conditions can include:
- Hypothydroidism.
- Cushing’s syndrome.
- Depression.
- Certain neurologic problems.
Can being overweight lead to medical problems in the future?
Your weight can play a large role in your health over time. Being overweight is linked to several health problems, including:
- Heart disease and stroke.
- High blood pressure (hypertension).
- Diabetes.
- Certain cancers.
- Gallbladder issues and gallstones.
- Osteoarthritis.
- Gout.
- Breathing problems, such as sleep apnea (when you stop breathing for a short amount of time during sleep).
Generally, the more obese a person is, the higher the risk of developing a medical condition. A person who is 40% overweight is twice as likely to die prematurely as an average-weight person. This typically happens over a number of years with a higher weight (10 to 30 years). Losing the weight can really benefit your health, both now and in the long term.
Many physicians who specialize in obesity believe that people who are less than 20% above their healthy weight should try to lose weight if they have any of the following risk factors:
- A family history of certain chronic diseases: These can include conditions like heart disease and diabetes.
- A pre-existing medical condition: Health conditions like high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol and high blood sugar levels are all warning signs of some obesity-associated diseases.
- Having a body shape that’s considered apple-shaped: If you carry excess weight around your abdomen, you could be at a higher risk of developing heart disease, diabetes or cancer than people of the same weight who are pear-shaped.

Have you watched the movie yet? Julie & Julia? You have to. Great acting and great food.
My friend and I were hoping that we could skim through Julia Child’s book, pick a few easy recipes, and then cook a single dish every weekend. Well we were a bit too optimistic. Why? Because Julia cooks like crazy. She uses multiple pans, multiple pots, and lots of ingredients that had to be cooked separately, then added together in the most intricate way possible, and that my friends goes beyond what I’m capable of. I don’t have that kind of patience and I don’t like work for hours and end up eating the dish in 10 minutes. It’s frustrating. But anyway, we ended up doing 2 very simple and easy recipes, and hit gold with 1 of them.
We made:
- Cream of Mushroom soup.
- Crêpes.
The Cream of Mushroom soup took around 2 hours, 4 pans and pots minimum, lots of shouting, many helpers.. And a great deal of patience. It tasted amazing, a bit salty, we forgot to count in the salt in the chicken stock, but that didn’t stop it from being a success. We all loved it.
The Crêpes recipe on the other hand was extremely simple, and it is just the most practical and tasty thing on the entire book in my opinion. It’s fun too, I loved flipping the Crêpes with the pan. It takes less than 10 minutes of preparation time and 2 hours in the fridge and it’s done. Smashing success.
I’ll be posting those recipes with pictures once I feel like editing all of those pictures (they’ve been in my iPhoto since mid Ramadan).
For now, why don’t you go to Julie Powell’s blog (as in the blog that started it all), and read through it.

Funny thing I heard the last week of Ramadan, a phrase that kept me going for quite a while.
Eeh. Mokh 7areem.
I hate hearing this phrase; it doesn’t sit well with me, not just coz it is sexist, but coz it is simply untrue. I’ve been lucky to have been surrounded moslty with wise & intelligent women my whole life, so I can’t relate to that phrase and it just annoys me.
But you know what? This little phrase, after sinking in, it kind of unfolded into something revealing of that person’s backgrounds. I mean an idea has to be influence by something to form. So if you say that women are stupid, out loud, you’re basically telling us that you haven’t been as fortunate as the rest of us, you’re saying that the women in your home and your family are stupid women..
That is where the little sexist and conceited ideas stems from. Home.

On our way to the chalet on the Eid holiday we passed by Lulu Hyper Market. Lulu’s known for it’s low prices and offers. We usually get our stuff from Co ops and sometimes for Sultan Center (if we’re looking for special stuff), but since the Eid’s holiday is going to be a long one, and we would require need lotsa stuff, We decided that Lulu would be the best place to shop at for it’s low prices (o yokhob).
Aswaq AlQurain isn’t hard to find, you’ll see it on your right if you’re heading south on King Fahad’s highway, it’ll be right across the highway from AlQurain. The building is huge, with many gates and it’s not dedicated entirely to Lulu’s as I spotted one Costa Cafe in there and many small shops that are either opening soon or have recently opened.
The supermarket itself is very big, 3 floors, and we found everything we were looking for, well except for Sara Lee’s Turkey and KDCow’s Milk, but other than that it was nice to shop there.
We filled 4 carts for KD151. You see? It’s a bit cheaper than Co ops, and ofcourse much cheaper than Sultan Center, but ofcourse you won’t find gourmet stuff in there.
You know what was surprising? Their service. Their Service was top notch.

I feel like I was left outta the loop. This Caramel Log thing is, apparently, a favortie among Kuwaitis (?) How come I didn’t hear about it until like 5 minutes ago? It looks old, tastes old, and has a nice after taste. It crunches like a lion bar and tastes like Bounty.
My collegue says it is best when accompanied with Sunkist.. huh.. gotta try that now.

I’m looking for a great pair of noise cancelling headphones, and I’ve read many reviews so far, a lot actually, and all of the reviews recommended the Bose Quiet Comfort 15 over any other wired headphones on the market when it came to Noise Cancelling. You’d think that would make the deciding process a bit easier, but it didn’t. The Bose QC15 while best at noise cancelling they’re not the best in audio quality.
I went down to XCite and found both the QC15 and Beats by Dr Dre headphones there (Yeah the Beats headphones are in consideration as well, simply coz they’re best when it comes to looks). The employee at Xcite was amazing, he let me try every headphone with an iPod and let me take my time to compare between headphones. I’m almost certain now that the QC15 is what I want the most, coz the noise cancelling is out of this world. One reviewer said it best: “it almost feels as if you’re at the bottom of a pool, almost completely shut off from the sounds above.” –Review. And when I tried it, I was convinced that the review didn’t overstate it’s noise cancelling ability one bit.. I was completely shut out from my surroundings and I couldn’t hear anything but my inhales and exhales.
I don’t know why the sound quality is bothering me though. I haven’t sensed the shortcoming myself, actually I thought they were excellent, but the reviews aren’t agreeing with me.. Other than that, I think they’re perfect.
Any suggestions?
Bose Quiet Comfort 15

I was craving steak for today’s suhoor so I went to sultan center and got me a nice juicy wagyu ribeye, expecially cut for me. I Seasoned it with salt and pepper only, and then grilled it myself to a perfect medium. Thick and juicy.. woah what a great meal that was!
The Hienz Twisted ketchup (Fiery Chilli) was a nice touch along with the dijon mustard, and ofcourse my favorite mayo of all the spicy mazola mayo with chili.

During Ramadan we have Ghabgas every week, and sometimes twice a week, people always struggle with the menu, deciding the dishes is always the hardest thing to do. I had in mind that once it’s our turn, I would scrap all the dessert dishes and only include one dish, the knafa from knafa 3albal. I mean bala elkharabee6 ely malaina minhom and get back to basics.. People love knafa, and when its served hot and fresh it basically rules.

It’s a relief when you get a dozen of new shiny Ga7fiyas! It suck when you keep delaying getting new ones, and the procrastinator within gets the best of you till you’re left with one ga7fiya. The guys sure know what I’m talking about.
I don’t know why they unravel the way they do so fast. I bought them a little less than a year ago, and I bought over 24 of them. When you take off the weekends, and divide the rest of the year over 24 Ga7fiyas, thats less than 11 uses per Ga7fiya. You’d think they should’ve lasted for about a year right? They didn’t. Some became loose and some tightened up, and the rest just unraveled and all sorts of strings were coming out of em. I threw most of the 24 ga7fiyas out after only a few months, and then I continued to filter out the bad ones till I was left with only one single tough Ga7fiya that persevered for over a month of daily usage.
Anyway. I finally managed to pass by khaya6 3gal today in sharg and got me a little over a dozen of new ga7fiyas. I’m used to have them made for me, but this time they had the exact same ones I use made and ready. Let’s see how long this new batch last.
The 3gal’s khaya6 is in sharg right across the street from Dasman complex.

Thanks HNM
