Along with the little fireplace we built in the chalet we built an outdoor oven for our baking needs. The oven is a little one and wouldn’t fit large stuff as the oven opening is a little small. But hey we managed..
Once it was done, my cousin brought all the stuff needed to bake: Pizzas, Cheese Fateyer and Za3tar. The outcome was really good for first timers! The only problem I think (putting aside the so so pizza sauce and cheese) was the dough, it was perfect for little baked stuff, but not for the big ones (ya3ny 6a3amha kan mal mo3ajanat z’3ar shi’3il bait) that little thing should be solved as we continue our trials Look at the all the pictures
I don’t go to the movies much, especially as of late.. but my friend just brought this slight increase in prices to my attention. Are they doing it again? I thought the KD2.5 was a good price, then they went and made it KD3, and now KD3.5. Cinema companies should be trying to pull the people back into theaters, with the all the ongoing piracy, not push them away with price increases every now and then.
The Guys over at Ekelni.com asked us to take a look at their website, review it and post about it. So we were given access to Ekelni, snuck inside and took a peak.. We pretty much liked everything we saw. Ofcourse the site is still being worked on, but it’s kinda almost ready..
So what this Ekelni is all about?
Ekelni.com is a new online food-ordering service that is about to be launched in Kuwait by a group of young Kuwaitis. Ekelni would be the second service of it’s kind in Kuwait, and hopefully could push up the bar for a better experience. The site looks great and the navigation is pretty simple.. You know what, let me put the things I liked in a list..
I liked:
The pages were laid out very nicely and was easy to navigate from one page to another. No clutter.
Almost every dish has a picture next to it. You’d appreciate this feature if you ever had to go by a dish’s name at an asian restaurant.
Works perfectly on my favorite browser, Safari!
An iPhone application to go along with it.
The site will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Cash, K Net, Visa & MaserCards are accepted.
I think its very promising. I enjoyed the little tour around the site and I think you all will once it is launched.
Now what the hell is this? I’ve seen spaces reserved for the handicapped and I’ve also seen spaces for pregnant women, but excuse me.. I don’t get the sign!
I mean if you’re a healthy woman, not disabled and not pregnant, why on earth would you be entitled to a free reserved parking? Unless the people behind this consider being a woman is some sort of a disability in itself?

You gotta love the lazy people behind this invention. I remember a couple of years back Mishary telling me about his room in Japan having one of these toilets where it does everything for you, and I remember being very impressed by the idea. Now my other friend found this one in Bahrain’s Ritz hotel.
I wonder if it’s available in Kuwait.. I would feel weird using one of these but I know at least one lazy friend who’d kill for this toilet!
My friend baked us some of these ready made Chocolate chip cookie-dough over the weekend and they were just amazing. The taste is just right and it was extremely easy to make. He baked 2 batches, a regular sized batch and a generous sized batch. The latter was a killer.
I was just coming out of Tilal in Shuwaikh when I cam across the bed boutique. I wanted to buy some more of their Tampur pillows (I’m in love with it every since the first try), so when I saw them plastering ‘30% Off’ signs across their windows I knew I had to go in.
I went in and they told me that all of their products are on sale, even the accessories, everything is off by 30% so I bought the 2 pillows you see billow. The one on the right is my second one of the same kind, I bought one back in february, but one wasn’t enough. The pillow on the left is one I’ve been eyeing on the net for a long time, I’m gonna use it tonight.
I don’t know what you guys are using but these Tempur pillows are amazing!
I bought the MultiPillow (left) is for KD26, and the Symphony pillow (right) is for KD31. Also, purchased a new TV Bed Store mattress for my bed toimprove my sleep.
The Bed Boutique is in Tilal complex, Shuwaikh. Phone # 22256172
Whats wrong with this picture? It was captured on saturday in Failaka.
Well. It’s a car pulling 4 buggies back into the ferry boat in order to get back to the City after a nice a weekend on the island.
Except that it’s a Military car. Being used by a guy when he is Off Duty. Pulling 4 buggies that were on the island to be rented throughout the weekend.
How could a Military person misuse a MILITARY car for such personal gains in broad daylight!?
I like looking at the shops windows (vatrenas) and I never thought of how creative a person must be to turn up with nice displays and decorations. Personally, I liked what MeBlogging did with this shop in 360 mall. I’ve seen other stuff on her blog, and I know that she is a creative person, but I especially liked this one. I think mainly because it’s so simple and easy to make! (the child in me wants that spray paint to soak everything in sight so bad!)
Zain took the initiative to put together 3 of Kuwait’s most adored Dewaniya games and put them into a single box they’re calling The Dewaniya Box.
The box is made out of solid cardboard material, and is likely to endure the Dewaniya usage. The 3 games are:
2 decks of cards
Dominos.
Checkers (Dama in Kuwaiti).
Kot bo sita score pad and a Pen.
Zain, with the help of Kuwait’s Dewan Directory, have gathered a huge list of Kuwaiti Dewaniyas and is about to disrepute the first shipment of 3000 Boxes to the Dewaniyas and are in process of producing more to cover the rest of Kuwait’s Dewaniyas.
Electrozan are holding an event for the new 3G iPads at their Salmiya branch. They have 2 demos set out for you to try out and get their feel. They’re working on having them in store soon.
The thing with this event is that it’ll be kinda exclusive for you blogs readers. It is only advertised in blogs where Electorzan is a sponsor, so you won’t be annoyed by huge lines and lots of people waiting. You’ll get alone time with the device and try it out all you want. Fill the form below and you’ll have a slot reserved for you to try the iPad out. I was told there are gifts in store for you if you reserved your slot online and went to try it out.
My brother Hamad told me about the KDD ice cream machine, and he kept raving about how good it’s ice-cream is, how smooth the vanilla and how sweet the chocolate is. I didn’t give it much thought till the he brought it up for, like, the 17th time. I decided that I need to try it out and that I would probably need my camera to report it back in here. I’m happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed, at all.
The shop is a KDD shop, never knew such shops existed. Heard about the one in shuwaikh but somehow it did not register, I mean a KDD shop? Why?
I went in and there were a couple of guys in there paying for their cons and were about to leave. I knew I had to take pictures, and I wanted the shop all to myself, I had many questions for the seller too, so I waited. As soon as those guys exited Read the rest of this entry »
The guys decided that it’s time to kick off the summer season. They’ve waited a long time for the weather to finally settle into summer mode, but it didn’t. And it’s hard to get all the weather elements we have in Kuwait aligned for a nice day at the beach (you know with all the dust, rain, wind, cold, hurricane and flying cows..etc) so when they woke up that morning and saw a nice weather, they decided that they should seize the opportunity immediately. And so they did.
