I went yesterday to the Mayadeen shooting range with my friend. It was my first time in Kuwait, I went once in Dubai and I loved it over there. In Dubai I used shotguns which made quite an impression on me.. and my shoulder.

This time it was time for a Handgun! I was very curious as to how it would feel in my hand. At first It felt awkward and got really nervous while loading the the bullets into the magazine then it got weird after hearing the sound my friend was making while he was firing away. It was loud. But I wanted to buy guns & ammo from Palmetto Armory to keep practising and acing the act.

I guess I’m a natural 😛

The place was very professional. From the moment we stepped in and until we left, all the people working there were very friendly and welcoming. There is a guy there who helps you and teach you all what you need to know before you touch the gun. He stays behind you and watches you and gives you advices. The shooting ranges were empty when we first came in, some people, guys and girls, started coming shortly after but it was still considered empty imo. There was lots of other shooting ranges. even a virtual range! where you hold a play gun and point it to a big screen.

We shot 20 shots each, and paid 12 KD, thats 6KD a nafar. 😀

Their manager was so nice! He saw me taking pictures of the place so he came over and invited me to his office to show me all those old guns, some of them were used in the 1st world war and other were used in Aljahra war in Kuwait in 1920! He was also nice enough to let me use his personal M16! that one was out of this world! for a second there I felt like a SWAT member lol! Seriously the manager was very nice. Thanks manager!

“Sah El Nawm featuring the world famous Fayrouz was originally composed by the Rahbani Brothers and performed for the first time at the Damascus International Festival in 1970.

Admired for its dramatic intensity, rich storyline, humour and musical rhythms, the play has received tremendous success and praise for its strong focus on the Arab world.”

This is not an event you’d wanna miss. I wish I could attend.. Maybe I will you never know.

By the way who is older Fayrouz Or Sabah ❓

Lifted from loco. For more info go to Showbizme.

Getting a flat tire on your car always sucks. I don’t care where you are, it’s never fun to change a tire. Usually the worst part is actually trying to jack your car up so you can take off the wheel ((9K2HN do you remember  Abdili road)) 🙂

Usually you’ll find the worst excuse for a car jack known to man in your trunk. You know the kind, they have some kind of rod that you have to twist about three hundred times, then you get to do it all again when you’re done changing the tire. I believe I’ve found the coolest jack ever.

It gonna cost you around KD34. I think its worth it.

For people like me & my wife who never know how much pasta to cook (it’s either too much or too little and we’re either unsatisfied or have two days of leftovers), I think this chrome device will solve our issue, it measures the amount of spaghetti for up to four people and doubles as a trivet.

Thanks to Ahmad.

Around a week ago my Brother told me that there was some Kuwaiti soap being filmed infront of where he’s living and that he has an insider there telling him about the soap. (The insider is their houseboy or something. The insider managed to land a role in the soap too!). So I asked my brother if it was possible to take some pictures of the set so I could share it with you all. And He very kindly did go through all the trouble of sneaking in when no one was around 😛 and shot all these nice photos 😀

A cast member!

The mosalsal is called Al Lahoub, The set is all wood, about an inch thick. There was an old cafe built for some scenes, but unfortunately it was brought down before He had a chance to take some pictures. (err I forgot the actors’ names. I’m gonna update this post once I remember or my brother sms me the names!)

Thank you Tareq for the great pictures and the effort.

I don’t know. The red ghetra is not red enough & I don’t wear plain white ghetras. I also think their logo on ghetras would look a bit tacky.

Pictures were taken in EA’s branch in Mall of the emirates, Dubai.

Thank you loco.

Remember ages ago I posted about that basbosa lookalike? the “Baked With Love” post?

Stage 2

Ingredients:

-2 Lebanese Bread. (its the white bread from Kuwait flour Mills & Bakeries Co).
-1/2 a cup of sugar.
-3/4 cup of milk.
-3/4 cup corn oil.
-3 Eggs.
-1 Tea Sp. Baking powder.
-1/2 Tea Sp. Cardamom powder.

The Baking Powder

Hmm.. maybe some more Saffron.

Mix well then pour it into this baking dish (thank you dots…)

Decorate with some nuts (Skippable)

Pop it in the oven for 30 minutes on 350 degrees. If its an electric oven then set it to 180 degrees.

Once its done, take it out, pour the cold topping (sheera) while the cake is still hot. And Enjoy it! 😀

Note: Don’t let the lebanese bread deceive you, you won’t believe how good it tastes 😛

It all started when the mighty mouse above made an appearance to the girls attending that lecture in GUST‘s new campus in Mishref. According to my source, some girls screamed and others hopped on their chairs. 😛

More from the source herself:

Well it was a typical day at GUST; it was my last boring class Management & Organization behaviour from 2:00-3:20pm.

As I was wondering around thinking what will I have for lunch today…
SUDDENLY! From the quiet -boring atmosphere one of the STUDENTS SCREAMED HER HEAD OFF…SCREAMING MOUSE! MOUSE! Her scream (can wake up patients in coma!)

We all jumped from our seats looking for this little ugly creature as we thought and it turned out he’s this little, cute, harmless thing!

Professor’s reaction: (Ooh! Here is the little guy)
Girl’s reaction: (Majority of them ran screaming out of the class! And the rest took pictures of the little creature!)

We surrounded the baby mouse until the security calmly came in and carried the mouse from his tale to the outdoors of the university.

The shocking thing is that about 2 weeks ago on a Saturday, in the same class! One of the sections had a midterm exam and suddenly the same thing happened, but what’s worse than that is they had to fold their legs on the chair and take the exam with pounding hearts! And watch the mouse running around!

I bet they did well on the exam!!!

What a shame! A new campus, it’s HUGE with high TECH. equipments, with uncontrolled temperature it’s either FREEZING or HUMID! And it’s a university where not only students can learn but believe it or not… It’s for “mice” to live and learn!

Thanks Wa6n_3Mri

Just saw it on the Rachel Ray show. If you’re one of those people who love to take care of their purses and its cleanliness then this thing is for you. If you’re also worried about it getting stolen then this is a good investment too! (I’m aware that I sound like a commercial)

Costs $35 – $79. LINK

What a nice way to memorize! walla these people are creative even with learning. Where were they when we were still in school!

Thanks pumkinah

Someone from Kuwait airways obviously got pissed at my Kuwait Airways Sells DVDs? post and is insulting me in the comment section.

Here are his comments

“go die yousef you know nothing about kac just talk bad about us so childish and bastardo dont fly with us go and fly with some one who dont give a shish about you and treat you like a dog you are heeeeeheeeeehheee”

“and bastardo yousef show your shishy face so we can sue your (…) for insulting our effort and next time basterd when you get to your destination safely know that pilots got you to where you want to go routen apple ok wa khalik ryalll”

Funny. Considering my uncle was one of the people who established Kuwait Airways back in the 50’s.

Just imagine EVERYTHING is upside down! 😛 And YES you can use them while they r flipped! 😛

When Me and the Wifey first got married we got this amazing gift from our friend. She also gave us the M&Ms I once wrote about (she designed that box too). She’s always been very creative and good at designing stuff. And now, She decided to dedicate her time and her ability to create things into starting a business of her own.

One of her gifts to us.

She created her own business and called it Ibrah (means Needle). She parterned with a Kuwaiti online shopping site called PowderTalk. They agreed to sell her stuff to the public. You can find the site HERE.

Something worth noting is that she does these pillows on her own. She has no employees or other helpers. She designs them and makes them from a scratch. And from what I’ve noticed, her material and use of colors are quite unique and durable.

Some of the Ibrah designs you can buy online.

A Few days ago I was talking to Labeba and she mentioned that our local banks don’t allow their employees to wear red ghetras “echmagh.” And today while I was talking with Ali He too confirmed this! My question now, is this for real? any one works in any of our local banks can confirm this? and if its true.. WHY?? What purpose does it serve?

UPDATE:

It seems the rule is applied in

  • Gulf Bank.
  • National Bank Of Kuwait.
  • Kuwait Financial House.

Thanks to Hamad & 5ermesS

I’m having a ball right now. Mariah’s (technically) upcoming album finally leaked to the internet! Been waiting a long time for it. Its her longest time off between albums, she used to crank out album after album each year of the 90’s but now, its been 3 years since her last one! (not bad when compared to other artists. for example Lauren Hill is yet to release a real studio album and its been 9 years since her last one. Thank God I’m not a big fan of hers).

In E=MC² Mariah lets loose and stop worrying about sounding perfect and concentrate on delivering the emotional punch. When she’s singing about having fun, the bass is thumping. When she’s singing about love, she’s emotionally charged and when she’s singing about forgiveness and letting go, she takes it to church.

I’m loving the album. *shocker* 😛

A few days ago Me, Bashar and 9K2HN decided to go to Dalag Es’hail Restaurant/Cafe which is located in Souq Almubarkiya to have something to eat. They have amazing Grills by the way. Anyway, after we finished 9K2HN suggested to have a look at a shop that specialized in…? Guess what?! Tester Perfumes! 😀

tester_2.jpg

The shop offers two kinds of perfumes:

  • Knockoff Perfumes.
  • Authentic Tester Perfumes. (Just want to mention that the tester perfume will last much longer than the normal ones, Thats why I prefer them).

tester_5.jpg

The price range for the Knockoff Perfumes was about KD3 – KD6, However the testers were around KD7.5 – KD10.

tester_3.jpg

The only problem with these testers is that they do not come with their original box. For me thats not a big deal!

Thanks Bashar & 9K2HN for inviting me, I had a blast. 😛
